What do you do for a living?

I worked as a stand in for the bearded lady at the freak show.... until they found another lady with a more magnificent beard than mine... that was a disappointing day.

now I just walk around wearing a torn clown costume and hand out free candy to the children.

Nice! A all grain/ brew in a bag? I always thought that would be a great technique to do a all grain with out having to buy a mash tun/latur tun/ hot liqueur back! I never could make a good lager until I had temp control over the fermentation. S-05 is real clean. Ferment it cold (58*F). Then raise it 2*F every 2 days. Should come out with out to many esters.

I use 05 for mostly everything except british ales, then I use 1469.

I wouldn't mind a career in brewing, but you have to start as a grunt and I'm too old and feeble for that :myday:

My Mind Is Free
My family has a small 35 acre piece of land which my brother and I have slowly built up from an empty hay field five years ago. Got into garlic at first, quickly found that wasn't for us, and moved into mixed greens. Years spent building irrigation, and putting in deer fencing around 35 acres, working virgin land, figuring out how to farm in general, building a washing/packaging facility, a greenhouse, becoming organic certified and then third party GAP, and GMP certified... and finally this year around mid-July we were able to get into Whole Foods. It's been a lot of hard work, and it's gone well so far. Hope we have good luck and get a good water year for 2016. And if you happen to be a Whole Foods shopper in Colorado, maybe give us a try! :p

So, long story short, I have become a farmer, and picked up a bit of knowhow in electric, plumbing, welding (stick and tig anyways,) mechanic maintenance etc. along the way, which I believe is pretty typical in my occupation. Not a (professional) cannabis farmer however.... sorry to disappoint.

I'm disabled now, but when I was working, I was a Veterinary Technician and a Pharmacy Technician. (not at the same time) I loved Veterinary medicine, but it didn't pay as well as Pharmacy. Most of the time the benefits were better with Pharmacy too. So, I went back and forth between those two careers most of my life.

Have been a cook,
then a bartender,
then a motorcycle salesman (Ducatis, KTMs, Husqvarnas etc),
then a barista,
then a Nokia Shop owner and technician,
then a bartender again,
then a cook and chef again,
then a SPY wholesalesman
then a mattress/furniture salesman,
then unemployed for a few years,
then I got into natural lifestyle and nutrition, natural building and natural/permaculture farming,
learned to grow amazing sun-fed organic weed, got busted (still waiting for trial),
lived in a yurt in a farm for a year growing food and making stuff,
had to work at water sports this summer and
now hopefully I manage to find a piece of land with a few friends this year and start living of the grid, sustainably and with our own food and built our houses with mother nature's soil, wood and water and never have a job again in my life... :ko:

well, technically my income is 0(I just got a letter from the tax agency stating that), but I get money from the government since I'm a student. recently student loans replaced the student subsidies here, but I started my bachelor the year before, so I still get it as a gift instead of a loan. and my parents don't make much, so I get more, also I study in a relatively small city, so relatively low rents for student rooms, so I can pay my rent+food+some money leftover for weed/beer etc all from the money I get from the government. when I finish my bachelor and start a master, which I will probably do, I will have to loan though.

the study I'm studying is plant sciences btw.

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
On disability since '92 but before that worked mainly doing field work in civil engineering and Land surveying with a strong bent towards environmental testing/engineering. Between jobs in that sector I dabbled with tending bar, worked at a adult detox center for a year and a juvenile detox as a case manager/family counselor/baby sitter for two years. When still in highschool did the golfcourse maintenance thing before school(setting pins/watering).

Well, nowadays I've been doing lots of things, I mean LOTS (thrust me) of different things

From ecological education, to photo assisting, photographer, desktop computer user support, localization (translation) engineering, tourist guide, surf and rockclimb instructor...

BTW, is anyone planning to come to Banana Republic for the Olympics next year ? Maybe we can meet up?
Or, maybe someone wants to hire a tourist guide for some personal "out of the main tourist track" experience, like climbing major tourist or photocard attractions, or hiking into the forest or into some waterfall, for example.

Cheers!
