Firewood Vaporizer

Now Evo makes me feel like I need a reliable desktop in the stable
The evo is a plug-in, and that makes a big difference imo. There are plug-ins and there are portables, and they serve different purposes. The zion may indeed help to change this equation, but it's still a battery unit. Get the evo and you'll never look back, even when you get that zion/gh/whatever they're all portables.

Has anyone found a good position for the screen at the bottom? Mine refuses to stay put and it's been driving me insane. No matter how I shape it it slides up and moves around after I take one hit.

I have this issue too. I have mine coming out the bottom just barely holding on. I dont like it in that position because I think it is affecting my draws. But if I had the screen any other way it would come loose and herb could fall through the bottom.

I just don't see as 5 hours, I've had the unit the longest and once before then. It never took 3+ hours to actually get it to buzz 4 times for full battery. In regards to 18650, and 350 batteries, those are the diameter of the Firewood, this thing is tiny, the Firewood have to become bigger or have bulges for those hefty batteries.

I think I'm gonna wait for some more reports on battery life in everyday use…

If only those little screws were not really screws but half turn ones and it was easier to replace batteries, I wouldn't mind carrying an extra quartet with me… I also wouldn't mind a slightly thicker body that would accommodate a couple 18650's. Maybe it could be shorter as well this way?

if battery bank works (ordered one so I will give feedback as soon as it arrives)
I am eager for this feedback. I think a battery pack would make this more travel friendly!

I lost my screen today...this was a consistent issue with the screen not staying in place. Sometimes it would shift during a session even which is what caused me to lose it ultimately. I found the ESV mouthpiece screens fit better and seem to stay in position.

Guys, I'm sorry if I sounded negative or suspicious. It's just that my FW2.1 was not the love story I hoped it would be (and I really wanted to love it, it's a nice object and it has so many good aspects, unfortunately in practice it's not seeing much use with me)

I'm glad you like your FW3 and I'm convinced it's a real improvement over the previous versions. I wouldn't imagine @firewood releasing a product that is worse than the predecessor. Innovation only goes one way: forward!

The battery tech choice is debatable but I also understand why he went this way (he already gave valid arguments in the past in this thread) It's clear that the long charge time can be a show stopper if you intend to have a single portable vape... But let's be honnest, we all have plenty and if you have a single one I urge you to buy a backup or two. Never create a situation where you can't vape because it's during these moments that you can be tempted to combust as a last resort.

Keep the reviews coming folks!

I would like to strike the above comment from the record. I lost my ESV mouthpiece screen this morning. They are the same size and if you blow your ABV out the capsule like I do, your screen just might go flying too. No chance your getting it back if your blowing it out a car window to say the least. Luckily I have extras on me today.

I asked Marc if there would be individual capsules or perhaps a pack of 5 or 6 for sale without the entire mouthpiece assembly and he said he would have them up on the website soon. He also said the second part of my order should be here soon. This second part of my order is the freebie that he was sending to make up for the delayed shipping for those who ordered on the 16th and 17th so all of you should be receiving your freebie soon as well.

Puffing on a Firewood full of Power Kush! :D

After the stock screen flipped on me and dumped a couple flakes down into the heater, I ended up putting a Nano screen in as well. Today I flipped it flat side up; so far I'm liking it best this way.

I cut a regular screen down and got it to fit better than the stock screen but I still have to fiddle with it to get it to stay put.

If there was just a little circular notch you could push the screen in at the bottom it would be perfect. Kinda like the Volcano's solid valve.

how much herb do you use?
compared to the nano how well does the fw perform... load size and how many clouds you get out of it (efficency), taste, clouds...

I use similar amounts as with my Nano, probably 0.05-0.07g usually, but I don't have a scale to that precision to verify. The load in that photo may be a bit on the large side.

Firewood can deliver some great clouds, but the vapor is a lot hotter / harsher on my throat compared to Nano+steamroller, so I've been taking fairly short puffs, still working out my technique... I'll probably only go up to level 3 unless vaping through water, but it seems to extract and darken the bud as thoroughly as I like it on 3 anyway.

Flavor is very good at low temperatures, but overall not as pure; it's not bad or anything, and I expect with time and seasoning the woody flavor will subside.

Got the bonus thing in today and it's really neat. 2 mouthpieces and a walnut holder.

Oh nice, so not only spare capsules, but spare mouthpieces and a beautiful place to store them!

So is the wierd shape of the mouthpiece because its silicone encasing a glass tube? And that o ring keeps it in place or something? Does it all come apart and reassemble?

They come apart and can be put back together, and the weird shape is just because it's silicone over glass.

The o ring's only purpose as far as I can tell is to provide a lump so it doesn't go all the way into the wood. Without the o ring you could push the mouthpiece way down and I'm sure it would be hell getting it back out.
