Hand assembled, bespoke vaporizer.. that has yet to be mass produced.. getting shade like they are Hon Hai Precision missing a date on an Apple contract. Foolishness

Very few people invested any appreciable amount of money in this venture. Those who did must have viewed it as a speculative foray using disposable income. And if it's not about the money, then it's about some words and some metal; very small things when put in perspective.
So many people are pretty viscerally upset. My humble suggestion is that arguing and complaining is not healthy over time, and best move may be to let it all go. Walk away, put the energy into something or someone else.
I've been scammed, cheated and lied to and lost lots of money on some real dumb stuff. One has to acknowledge and move on, at some point it's about self-preservation.
I'm not suggesting any individual stfu, rather, we can each generally consider a different way to pursue happiness if the things we are doing aren't providing it.

fwiw, I've managed to moderate my VAS for the Grasshopper this past month by pre-ordering a new Nexus phone. Its a ~1 month wait until shipping, and I've been watching reddit like a hawk all month long waiting for this bad boy phone to ship. What's funny is that even though reviews for the phone have been quite positive, there are a handful of people who lock on to any flaw and cancel their orders -- but only after making that one final, vitriolic post. "Battery life is average compared to ___", "Vibration motor is too obtrusive." "Screen isn't nearly as bright as the ____. Or maybe it is." Its amazing how similar the discussions there are to the Grasshopper discussions...some people are just losing their mind over this phone and seeing doom and gloom everywhere they look.

So hopefully I'll get my phone this week and I'll be able to redirect my own panic and rage back to this thread.

Maybe you're unaware of this, but someone can be extremely happy overall while still being angry at a specific situation that any normal person would be angry with.

And I'm not sure about you, but tapping some buttons with my fingers for a few seconds doesn't take a massive amount of my energy.

The only reason I started posting in here was because I was getting incredibly sick of seeing all the people trying to defend GHL for the zillionth time (here AND on reddit) when what they are doing isn't something anyone should be defending.

I want to make sure any prospective pre orders know what they're getting themselves into :)

That would be today, I feel silly for noticing, but it was one of the more concrete promises they'd made in awhile. Good to see they remain consistent in their predictions. I know they're having shipping issues w/ new parts, and they'll need time to test the new batches, but I must admit, I figured if nothing else they'd send a couple days worth of address confirms anyway to keep the narrative going.

What's the key phrase that gets them off the Monday parts shipping deadline, and what's the key phrase that gets them off saying the website will be upgraded with new shipping estimates "in the next couple days." Couple means "two" and it's been a week.

Pretty sure there are still people with September shipping estimates...

The key is what they'er NOT saying: They have ZERO obligation to keep their word. Z E R O.
You want a grasshopper without stressing about it? Simply close you're computer/put down your phone & WAIT. We'll get them when they get around to it, period.
I'm about done checking this thread. Like others before me: when it arrives it arrives. I've got other fish to fry in the coming year.
We've seen that the hoppers are real/not vaporware... so I'm personally not pressing them to hurry.
Trevor, Matt & "Caroline-a" : THANKS for updating us (even if the dates are consistently wrong) when you have ZERO obligation to update us at all.
(I'm not being mean, just real.)

There are people who could've gotten their hoppers a YEAR AGO and it still wouldn't be considered "fast" by any reasonable standard.

Not sure who you think you're kidding.


"Fast" would be receiving your hopper before the estimated shipping date, not multiple months, in some cases even a year and multiple months after.

Anyone else see the irony of being on page 169 of the official GH thread, and the backers still haven't received their hoppers?

We're gunna have to make a 'Real Official Grasshopper Thread' once the product actually starts getting delivered to customers (preorders) as well as investors (backers).:doh:

I've said this before months ago, if there is anyone waiting to fuck combustion until they get the GH buy another vaporizer to tied you over in the mean time. It looks as though it may take a while for some.

Try the Arizer Air, Imag Plus or the Flowermate smaller model. They are portable stealth vaporizers but they are not pen sized.
