well, I'm in again.

I'll be waiting for the 6 s to be developed.... and saving up cash $$$....

I'd like the DUAL flex heater design, but I guess I'm happy to be the TEST model once again so which specific version whether it's the dual flex or the single 25w flex is all a matter of what the manufacturer is willing to produce.

I'd prefer if you're claiming it makes a big difference to get that dual flex heater model, and I'm gunna start making soft inquiries pretty soon, but I'll wait for @Old School to update us when he get's his fired up.

Damn and double damn that mine dropped and it's still able to turn on, but only for 10 seconds at a time....

which means it's headed back to Quebec, up here in Canada.

That's it, I've decided. For the money Inhalater are charging for their defective products, I'm gonna purchase an Air. I'll probably keep that until Inhalater finally have a reliable model out there for $250 (or less). The fact that they are charging $350 for the INH6 leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

I've waited 2 years for Pharmacor to get things sorted, guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

Actually, Grasshopper are getting things moving along quite swiftly. I think I'll skip the Air and go straight to the Grasshopper. It's an incredible machine. I don't think I'll want to go back to the INH after that, even if they do eventually get it sorted...

"Quite Swiftly" I don't know I think there are a couple thousand or more folks that might not see it quite like that.... I too have been camped out on that thread pretty much ever since the manufacturer here was caught trying to pretend to be a consumer.... it too is basically a log vape which typically avoids the need to open and stir.... never have liked that business....

They are not quite an apples to apples comparison though... but I've been camped there waiting to see how things unfold before I throw in my support.... I'm sure you have read some if not all of the thread so this backend business is concerning to me and asking the body to carry the current load that a 45w heater is pulling... they seem desperate to stay true to the course despite all the issues being reported... I'm still not convinced they are only dealing with mass production issues.... might be time for a design "adjustment" that they aren't willing to acknowledge just yet....

So back to these "apples" I do feel the GH is an absolute must have {I know I want one for sure} but it is best operated as a ripper..... which is fun to do awesome ass bong type rips {ahhh back in the day} but it's not what I'm into these days..... sure sure it's a must have as I said.... but I also like to enjoy nice smooth easy breathing vapor..... something which complements my inhalation somewhat effortlessly without being offensive in any way.......
A Hybrid design incorporating convection and conduction working together in harmony would be ideal...
I've been enjoying a 2+ years conversation/debate to get this manufacturer interested more in the convection side of the equation..... I personally feel the ratio needs to be like 70/30 or even better 80/20 conv to cond.... however, this vendor appears to rely heavily on the conduction side of the ratio....

Then we have the differing methods of evolving and bring their products to market..... I'm cheering for the both of them to be honest but I do feel at the end of the day I'd likely want to have a GH to show up any smoker that feels that vaping is a joke..... but for myself on the regular I see the Inhalater filling that role.... but just like you said once I were to experience the GH all bets could be OFF....

Nothing but HOPPER.... it could happen I suppose.... many have made the claim thus far....

I'm on the GH thread all the time, as well. With a bit of luck it'll work out... @Old School have you read through any of the Zion threads? There are 3 models in the line, but they all work in similar fashion (one has a temp dial, the others the user controls on/off with a button).

Clearly you and I are looking for the same thing in a vaporizer...... we seem to have our eyes on the very same 3 threads..... it just so happens that the other tab I have open is in fact the Zion.... the form factor doesn't really appeal to me so.... I'm super hopeful that either or both of the others get things sorted out......

EDIT: Zion does look to be a serious performer that's for sure.... just not sure I can get past the bulky form factor....

killick

But I like it!
The one that you might like isn't the Zion. There are 3 threads all using the same technology. There is a single bat model that has me 'giddy as a ninnygoat' (if you know The IT Crowd). I couldn't find the lid (I'm pretty medicated, with a bit of pharma for good measure :/ but found a quote comparing the models to the INH 05...

The dual will have a trigger, no dual 18350 but some day maybe years from now...

Single is 18mm, wide airflow bc this is pure convection with 50 watts of power, INH is mostly conduction with like 25 watts? Doesn't have the wide open airy draw of this.

And yes it can milk and fog a bong or bubbler like nobody's business, in seconds too, true for the whole line really, even long dry stems

And a pic:
http://www.rastabuddhatao.net/apps/webstore/products/show/6217332
The description is a bit wonky - it started life as a 14mm, then got bumped to 18mm due to horsepower...

Having recently purchased an Arizer Air, i'm back on FC after a year, after I gave up on the Inhalater's ridiculous defect rate, counted my losses (over $400... did they ever end sending out their indiegogo perks?!). God the email thread alone indicts them.

Nice guys. Not on top of it.

But I ask, are things going better now? Do the units actually last without breaking within a few months at most?

With respect but a pretty bad rating...

"ridiculous defect rate" they have had some pretty crazy times that's for sure.... it hard to answer that question really because they have made some gains..... however having a demonstrated history of poor methodologies {choices} can have a tendency to linger and possible rear itself in other areas.....

The USB that was almost being sheered off of the PCB has been resolved so if you were referring to any of that it has gotten much better..... however I just recently received an INH06 12.5w with the "Turbo Boost" feature kinda cool but suddenly jumped from the 6hr charge time to the seen in the past 12 hour charge cycle..... so that was disappointing to have happen.... so I'm thinking a bit more diagnostic work needs to happen there.... because we all know that is a huge aggravation which is worsened not being able to swap in a fresh battery anymore..... 12 whole hours just to get a small 90 minute usage and then it's back on the charger....

So my most recent latest version.. the INH06 is still working great and I do enjoy using it...when I can so it didn't die but is somewhat crippled.... works good when it has juice....

My INH05"S" is still a Monster {25w} it is my old faithful.... but it has also lost it's ability to take a charge... Darn It....

So I'd love to tell you to go ahead and get yourself a nice INH05"S" because should the USB go south on you... just start swapping batteries.... well that has a small gotcha lurking in the shadows... if we are too rough with the ribbon cable {fold it back flat} it can crack and separate... which there is no coming back from and this manufacture has decided not to cover the ribbon cable under warranty....

Enjoy that AA.... I trust it is much less ridiculous from what all I have read.... it dropped off my radar.

Hope this was helpful..... great vaporizer....almost sorted.....:peace:

@simmy >>> well, they sort of sent out the indiegogo package to me. In July of 2014 I paid them $300 for the Ultimate package. To be fair, I was too late by a couple of days to be included in the indiegogo campaign, but I contacted Inhalater and they said they would still do that.

They offered me the grinder package, but I wanted the water tool and the bong, and the pick with the cleaning stuff.

Then in early September, about 2 months after the initial PAY PAL to them, they sent me only just the vaporizer, and that did not recharge at all, so it was DEAD ON ARRIVAL except for working for one charge.

I called them and they said they knew what the issue was and it was covered under warranty. I held off for a bit to order new batteries and make sure it wasn't a battery issue, but sent it back eventually in late November with a warranty claim.

AND >>>> they did cover it.

In January of this year, a full SIX MONTHS after the initial pay pal payment was sent to them, the did in fact send me out the WHOLE 'ultimate package' in it's entirety.

And I do love using both the xp and the 05 version thru the bong.

NOW, unfortunately I was not so lucky with the 06, it dropped from 2 feet to a carpeted floor. It continued to work, and still does turn on, but just for 8 seconds at a time, before I need to turn it back off and then ON AGAIN to get it to heat up.

I am hopeful it might still be useful and fixable, but I'll have to do a NON-warranty fix either myself and pay INHALATER to do that. The BOOST button no longer works as I ripped out the wires attached, but on the good note, I can access the battery compartment and exchange batteries.

AND when I do send it back, I'll be keeping the battery instead to use with my 05 as a spare.

NICE...There you go this is why it is likely just your sensor that has broken or lost connection...{I won't bother to describe how it is installed} it is very fragile actually...anyway the 8 seconds is an indication that it is very fixable as everything is in working order...you are even able to use it providing you keep as you said turning off and back on every 8 seconds.... do be careful using this technique {better to warranty it} because you are running the heater "FULL ON" for those 8 seconds.... it will over cook things very quickly..... but you can find the sweet spot.... again send it in...they will be able to fix all of it....:peace:

bonsoir mon ami.

My good friends of the INHALATER 05/05s/06 thread

@ KidFated & @ jjl5590 >>> go for the 05 please. Try it out, if it works then join me in ordering the 6 or the 6 "s"

I say this because I'm just some poor welfare shlub that cannot afford to do all the testing alone.

I have a working 5 model and am now exchanging the battery if needed

I do agree that YOU CANNOT drop the thing, it probably won't survive.

you also will need to become a PRO at exchanging the battery, and that takes skill, but for $150 I think the 05 is a great model to LEARN off of, and if it breaks it's not as huge a loss of $$$ money as the 06 for double the price.

That said, I actually believe that on the top setting which on my 05 the top setting is JUST PAST the 9, almost at the AUTO setting>>>> it works quite well guys.

I think the 06 is the same thing with a nicer SHELL on the outside to be honest.

If you order the 5 "s" it's probably a bit better, but for the money, the 05 would be your best bet.

I ALSO SAY ALL OF THIS WITH SINCERITY, but the company may not survive if it continues to offload these older models on discounting web sites.

That means there will be no more parts available, and all because people couldn't afford to TEST their curiosity by ordering the CHEAPEST of Inhalaters offerings.

I'm a welfare shlub that cannot afford to shoulder the load all alone by myself, and I agree with @ Old School that the design would be made more bullet proof in future iterations of this product, but we'll never get there if people won't buy.

Try it out>>> the 05

If it breaks right away try a warranty claim, but whatever you do, do not drop your unit like I did.

My xp still works great, I use the pick to get the screen out. GET ONE OF THESE too.

I clean the inside several times a year and was totally shocked the last time I did this at all the crap inside.

I was able to push a q-tip right INTO the air intake holes and it's amazing how many q-tips it took to clean it all up, so get a pick tool if you can

good luck and there was a customer on fc that recently purchased an older model 004 for $10 bucks at a head shop because of all the errors made here, so that parts bad, but the 05 is worth a shot at least

yeah, that's what I'm talking about

the 05 is a great model....

Since that one is HALF the price, if people took a chance on it like @peterpiper then we might have a company to still look at and deal with in a year from now.

If people wait around for the 6 "s" for @ Old School and I to try, this might never evolve.

The pick tool, a water adapter, some extra batteries all will help you and help Inhalater to grow.

Ordering nothing and waiting for a welfare shlub like me who hangs out at soup kitchens and counts pennies to order one of the new 6 "s" models puts all the weight on me and one other guy named OLD SCHOOL

I would at least TRY for $150. I just think it's the best of both worlds

I acknowledge that the design of it, if you drop the thing it's toast. Maybe fixable, but a headache.

For $150, you'll be getting a high that I can say honestly works. Mine works

@ peterpiper >>> his works.

Keep ordering THESE models, and at least the product will EVOLVE

Waiting for a NEW model may just be waiting for nothing, and you'll be taking a $350 dollar risk.

Don't do that if you feel that squeemish. Try the 05, it's working for a whole bunch of us and it's relatively cheap to purchase.

I'm also getting some brizzard flasks from Quebec to add alcohol to the mix before going for a long drive to Rob Fords' house, so everything is coming from La Belle Province for me. And Robbie used to do the same thing while mayor of Toronto, go BLUE JAYS today.

keep in touch guys. We're doing this right, I know that for sure, and congrats if you've traded smoking Old School style for this vape.

I realize you might look at this situation and feel almost buried alive. But if I was even remotely as poor as your saying I'd have to go with a Chinese made vaporizer because I feel I'd have as good of odds with it as I would a inh made model. These guys played there hands as poor as a company could. I'm not sure they deserve another model to make their poor customer base pay up for. This is just 1 mans opinion who almost bought a inh until I read this thread a while back while all the show was taking place. I instantly changed my mind. To many options in today's market place. And the competition is only getting better and costing less and less.

OMG that's just like buying a working model T for a $100 bucks.....

peterpiper... so nice to hear about a "drop test" survival story... aside from the mention of the body cracking and having to tape it.... awesome piece is it's still working....SWEET......

The 06 is the 05 with a "Turbo/Pulse" extraction button.... which again can easily be done manually... I'm able to do in one handed now using my pinky finger... you actually get a bit more control over the peak and base temperatures doing it manually.....:peace:

HD S - indeed bad form..... not sure if it was a good thing for you not to even get to experience the design.... it really does kick ass....and I surely do wish things were different.
 I do strongly feel they need to introduce something a bit more substantial than just adding a button...:hmm:

The 5s was one of the nicest vapes I've used. Having said that the company seems bent on a 'evolve or die' mentality, meaning the 6s will get replaced by the 7 in a few weeks, then the 7s, etc etc. That and spotty warranty really bother me - warranty shouldn't be a crap shoot. The issues I had were easily resolved, although many others have dissimilar stories.

I keep watching and hoping the guys at Pharmacor start acting like an actual company. Maybe the 18s will be the keeper? :)

@Old School I do believe that inh had a good heater design. I've been told just that by a very unhappy customer of inh. WHEN it worked it worked very good. The problem is the crap shoot on the reliability and even way worse the complete cluster fuck they initiated. Instead of CS it was total BS what they put good no great paying customers through. Sadly I think they have stuck with the same "basic" design and just kept repackaging it. The biggest hill Pharmacor faces is its competition. It's getting very competitive with better priced portables.
I did want to get a inh about a year ago but the cost kept me from it. Now I'm not so upset about not investing in that. Again these are just IMO.

@ Killick >>>> you sir are right. The 05 "s" may be a more impressive unit. You can at least exchange the battery in that one without having to RIP OUT the extra wires.

I would just mention that the 05 is probably a very good unit to recommend.

It doesn't seem BAD, but we all know the company folds without sales.

Can I recommend the 6??? Maybe not, I don't know. Maybe me dropping mine was the problem. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that. BUT, here's me>>>> I'm gunna try to work out some sort of deal and take another shot before I give up.

for $150, I don't think I'd have too hard a time absorbing those costs if it didn't work out. Maybe they might warranty the claim or work out a deal on a replacement. I do realize this has been going on for 3 years these problems.

But that 05.... it would be my guess, that if they came out with that from day one and skipped all those other versions that broke down, that we would have more of a thread here.

I think the 004, and the xp version have been the reason this fell apart because the 05 is very good.

I would hate to see everyone walk away NOT KNOWING that my 05 aint that bad.

I'm going to aim for the 5 "s" because I can exchange the battery in that one.

I would also make a recomendation to INHALATER or Pharmacor as we once knew them

I also DO NOT see the need for the button but especially on the 6

I think that type of button may be ALOT more interesting on the 6 "s"

Part of the reason they probably invented that button is to STOP us from exchanging the battery and to PROTECT us from breaking our units due to very cheap parts I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY with that part.

Now that said, perhaps this was not the best solution, but it's telling us something....

THEY JUST DON'T HAVE THE MONEY $$$ right now to MASS PRODUCE these units with the PROPER configuration. They had enough money to build a lot of units with FRAGILE parts like that sensor that broke in mine.

THAT SAID>>>> mine did DROP. Perhaps if you order an 05 you will find for $150 that if you do not DROP IT like I did, that your experience is alot better than my last order...

If you wanna drop anything, drop the $150 on an 05. If it breaks.... well that's probably the end of design that ran into funding problems, but at least we all tried our best as customers and didn't leave all the heavy lifting to welfare shlubs who honestly saw the POTENTIAL and the funding issues.

THE OTHER OPTION is finding an investor with DEEP pockets who recognizes this design is the best.

ANY THOUGHTS on how to keep this alive would be well appreciated, but if nobody wants to keep it going, let's burry this problem and tell Inhalater we give up. Let's ASK them for the Patent and try to move it forwards ourselves thru @ OLD SCHOOL

Perhaps they might prefer that then letting it DIE HERE!

guys, I just went to INHALATER'S web site and put the cursor over top of the header TECHNOLOGY

Then I scrolled over top of COMPARISON CHART and double clicked on it and it reveals that the 6 is in fact the 6 "s" model with that 25w flex heater.

@ Old School, you will have to be the judge on this for sure, I have no way of knowing if it's a 12.5 or a 25 w heater, but the chart clearly describes the 5 "s" and the 6 as having the same exact battery and heater with the button being the only addition, so if that's correct, then the 6 is not just the 05 with an extra BOOST button.

here's a copy of that chart from their website

Model
INH-05 Heating Element 15W
INH-05S 25W
INH-06 25W

Photo

Again, having INHALATER banned from here is hard, because it's awfully hard to confirm or deny this is true

I did enjoy the 6 while it worked.....

perhaps though I didn't notice that it was a 25 w heater, it seemed like when I had the knob turned up to 7, it was barely visable the vapor which is the same on my 05 model at 7...

when I turned it up to 9 or JUST PAST the 9, it seemed to me to be about the same as the 05 model in terms of vapor production.

GUYS, maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's a 25 w heater in there, perhaps its a NEW change that @ OLD SCHOOL will be UPDATING US all about.

Perhaps there is no more 15 w heaters and I had a rare model of the 6 that has since been changed.

Perhaps the 6 s is canceled in favor of making the 6 the same for all of us.

We'll have to wait for @ OLD SCHOOL to get back and give us some updates here soon.

Inhalater has a Facebook page, although it looks abandoned. The best way to find out anything is likely calling or emailing then directly.

Somewhere North of The Wall
I would've thought that the 25 Watt heater wouldn't provide any more vapour than the 15W, just get there faster?

Maybe over the course of a draw the 25W will 'recover' faster and therefore mean that you don't have to draw as slowly to achieve the same density of vapour.

Or to look at it another way, maybe if you still draw slowly on the higher power unit then the extra heat would make denser vapour.

My 05 produces very dark ABV when maxed out, so I assume that more heat would lead to combustion (or demand faster draws to avoid combustion).

I think I just changed my own mind in the course of a single post!
Not bad eh?

yeah,

I'm not there yet, but wow...

you were one of my hopes.

I am still trying to figure out what I just had in my hand, and still do, just broken slightly.

I'm in a weird situation in life where I'm being picked into another fight in life where I'm being censored and can't speak my mind without being interrupted, and practically tackled to the ground and have words put in my mouth and not allowed to finish what I was ACTUALLY trying to say.

THEN on this thread here, it's something similar, it's again a SENSOR issue, but it's inside the unit and doesn't seem to work at all.

That is really too bad that @jjl5590 doesn't want to go for a $160 dollar 05.

I'm not blaming you either, and I just have the same issues as @ Old School, plus having 2 of these working is like heaven.

The only reason I'm ordering a 3rd and perhaps a 4th is 2 reasons.

1. Obviously if it breaks I'd like one on hand to fall back on, perhaps 2 on hand just to be safe

2. With the capsules that you just slug in there, I have 3 tins that I can put in my pocket and carry 3 caps
so theoretically I could walk out the door with 9 in the 3 tins plus 2 in the 2 units for a grand total of 11.

That's enough for you and your buddy for the whole day.

obviously the 6 is better than the 05, the battery is exactly the same, but perhaps I should try again with the 6 and see if it works out this next time. If it does, then JUST DON'T DROP them and you'll likely have a better time than you would have with the grasshopper.

If not, then I might give up and join everyone, but I'd like to KNOW FOR SURE.

I can't do that unless I try, so today I did email inhalator for a warranty claim. I don't think I qualify, but I asked as well if they could fix the sensor or if we could work something out.

Hopefully something can be worked out before this is a crash and burn guys.

Will anyone join in trying an 05?

I'd love to see a success story sometime soon.

I am not sure what your reasons are to "push" others into trying the 05 and hope for a success story. As has been stated a few posts earlier, how many models will it take them to get it right? Sorry, but my wallet is not paying for their research. There have been many documented problems with the ribbon cable and many warranty issues as well with this model. IMO, there are just too many better options. I have the 004 and the XP iterations of the Inhalater. To be honest, the only one I use is the 004 as my XP model, which was replaced about 3 times due to off-gassing, still gives off a strange smell and visible vapor. I was tempted to get the 05 when they did the IGG fundraising, but after some thought, I moved onto much better vapes as I had lost trust in this company.
I do not have a Grasshopper yet, but IMO, that company has much more advanced technology packed in their vape than any current Inhalater. Spend your money as you please, but remember, there is no perfect vaporizer.
