"will leave you will be so happy with your purchase! If not, we will refund you money within the first 30 days if you are not as happy as we are with this amazing portable vaporizer."

That will be the only reason I would try this vape. You don't like it, you get your money back.

Buyers must understand that this is a pre-order product that may not ship at scheduled time due to unforeseen circumstances, and agrees to not initiate charge back if product is not received by specified preliminary date. *
  • I agree to the terms outlined above

This why I won't buy this vape. If you feel that you have to put this on your order page speaks volumes to me. Pretty sure any attorney with a degree from a community college could beat that disclaimer if need be. If they left it at "circumstances" and left off the "agrees to not..." then this wouldn't look so bad. The last part just looks so tacky and unprofessional. This will be a wait for a few reviews to pay $225 for, let alone $300 unless it does something no other vape has accomplished yet.

we will have our third run of prototypes in a few days so that we have them for the Champs trad show.

I thought this thing was well past the prototype stage and ready to ship to pre orders by Christmas?

I hope anyone who orders is happy to pay $225 to be a beta tester.

I have a feeling they are trying to do what GH did to their backers, but at a steeper price. That's why they have the 30 day full refund deal I think.

The fact of the matter is that whenever you purchase ANY new vaporizer that has just been intro'd into the market, even if you get it 3 days after you paid for it, you are still in essence............a beta tester.

Rooting for this, 7th floor could use a new hit (portable) vape :sherlock:

I'm rooting for them as well. They really need a quality portable for them to remain viable as a vaporizer manufacturer but the way that they have introduced this portable is a bit sketchy to say the least.

Its also a chance to see company reputation in action. Those who feel good about prior interactions with 7th Floor will be way more willing to take the leap then those who did not. Sadly my I don't need a new portable.

Not sure if this is a new image, but it's not posted here. IMO, looks better from this angle.

Two questions. Where is it being manufactured and how long is the warranty?

Five year warenty would be excellent for me. Two years is understandable but five would be great. If a vape still works at five that's pretty damn awesome.

I'm guessing it's for battery removal. Just a shit in the dark though.
Ew, sounds messy! Lol.

Anyway, thanks for your reply, but I realise that it certainly could be for battery replacement - I was just asking to see if I could get a definitive answer

:peace:

**EDIT** As much as I love tools & gadgetry, I need to know if I will need to carry a small screwdriver around with me to change the batteries? . . . If it is not needed for battery replacement and is in fact used to perform a far more infrequent task, I will just leave it safely at home for the majority of the time. No problem. However, if it is required for battery replacement, I would like to know if there is a spot anywhere on the SideKick to store the screwdriver? Thanks! :peace:

Hee hee indeed! It would be choresome.

That is precisely the news I was hoping for.

Nice one @Herb-nerd

I'll wait until more details are released on the unit to find out exactly what disassembly entails . . .

Thanks for your reply.

Has the question about where its manufactured been answered. I realize it might not be a popular answer but it should still be addressed. It's not a deal breaker in my eyes but it will make a difference on when I jump on this model. Or if I wait to see how the dust settles.

I just noticed that on the 7th Floor website it says the SideKick has 'American hand-blown glass made by our inhouse Elev8 blowers', from which I infer that while the glass part is made in the US, the rest isn't as they would tout the whole thing as being US made. http://7thfloorvapes.com/index.php/seventhfloorvapes/vaporizers/handheld/sidekick-coming-soon.html

I noticed that some of their desktops are listed as being ' assembled and tested by American workers - not in China or Germany or some nameless overseas factory' which I take to mean that they put together in the US from parts sourced in various countries. http://7thfloorvapes.com/index.php/...top/silversurfer/silver-surfer-vaporizer.html

Some are listed as 'Final assembly and testing is performed at our Colorado Springs factory' which I take to mean that they are made in another country, presumably China, and a few finishing touches are added in the US. http://7thfloorvapes.com/index.php/seventhfloorvapes/vaporizers/desktop/da-buddha.html

@Herb-nerd @7thfoorvapes Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

Here's a good little rundown on the difference between 'Made in the USA' and 'Assembled in the USA'.

All the above is correct, the dimmers are made in china - its not massively feasible to produce the dimmers in the US at the moment.

The assembly that takes place in the US involves making up the vape from the Chinese sourced dimmer and all the other components including the body, base, heater stands and internal fixtures - all mechanical parts. Also including the american blown glass parts. The heaters are also sourced from Asia (almost all are to my knowledge - but we all know that 7th floor heaters reliable parts that can operate non-stop for 4 years +)

The vapes that state they are finished in the US will simply mean that the mechanical assembly takes place in Asia, but tested and finished with the american parts in the US. This obviously allows a lower priced product but does not sacrifice on quality.

From what you stated above, the assumptions extrapolated are correct. But it isn't as simple as me stating exactly how everything is done... not yet. It will be soon.

If this vape is made in China that certainly is not something to trip on. So much is made in China and if it isn't usually its parts are. The truth about China is they produce everything from the highest quality products to very low quality toy like products. I as a consumer examine the hell out of the products I buy no matter where they are from. I have found that quality, like a Vapman for example, is timeless. I also have a Pax 2 and have no problem thinking this thing will stand up to its gaudy 10-year warranty and this exceptional unit is manufactured in China. It is more important to take some time and get to know what makes the product tick no matter where its origin. Some of my most favorite things are from China. :2c:
Indeed, everything from a Macbook to a ventilator is made in china to the highest standards, the issue comes when knock-off are produced at a severely reduced quality, using inferior components and poor electronic designs.

If i was 100% in control of the circuitry, i would be posting all the info up here with the specs.
But until that date, i can only release what i know.

Hope that answer some questions, if not in an obscure manner.

Hope you all understand!
