The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Looks like your setup and mine are on opposite ends of the range.:haw: Mine a simple 14mm path tube filtered through a small amount of water then a large chamber for the vapor. Yours, I had to trace visually at least 3 times from the EQ F/F adapter to the mouthpiece like a professional plumber to understand the flow. Um.. wait a minute where is the mouthpiece? :hmm:Is this some sort of mobius strip?

LOL SORRY, that pic is a bit confusing. The EQ is connected to the top 18mm female, and if you look at the bottom left theres a female 18mm connected to the male 18mm which is my whip(mouthpiece). Not sure if that makes sense LOL

Not sure if that makes sense yet. Tell me if this makes sense. Sorry if I seem dense. I'm guessing you have a very long piece of whip hose going between the EQ and the near right of the picture going into the elbow piece....

So to clarify where this all ends. In the bottom left corner, that glass piece with the white clamp on top and further down the black strip at the narrow point. That said piece would be the last piece in the chain, with the whip end off camera? Alright? I do understand that it was probably pretty hard to get everything in a single picture. It is a cool cascade of filters tho. :brow:

My own water setup:sherlock: is doing great by me so far and should be easy to clean and mod compared to other glass pieces I have considered.:science: Not bad for a first time purchase without the S & H issues and being able to water test it in-house. Just didn't wish I had to repair the stem a day later. Because it fell from my desk.:ugh: But it works nearly as well as a solid piece with a better degree of flexibility. :peace:

@TommydCat does it perform well? can you show us a video of milking your glass ? Your setup is what i want!
Don't have an easy way to video at the moment :disgust:

It's not nearly as hard hitting as an EVO can be, but it's still quite nice... very nice tasting esp if you've been using the whip. Use of the fan made it interesting, making the draw effortless. :luv:

I didn't really explore how even the ABV was since I mostly just did this since I had the parts and I was bored. What really interested me in doing this is that it gives me two units that look similar with hydratubes on them that I only have to show how to use once for small social gatherings :leaf::sherlock:

Also keep in mind this doesn't work with the VapeXNails (uses a different principle to heat, they'll bottom out short, and a hydratube won't fit over them). :worms:

But I really do love the versatility the Q still has after all these years. If only that blasted ring wasn't so wide it'd be easier to flip it like a cloud -- anyone experiment with a sawzall yet? :science:

I'm very interested looking over DDave's deluxe kit which includes 14mm pieces I didn't notice folks playing with before... In regards to the hard hitting aspect I mentioned above, this really makes me wonder what a Q would output with a PWT (Pinnacle Water Tool) on top? More restriction through a smaller piece might pump up that vapor density quite a bit

After a couple of near disasters with water above the vaporizer, I now use water filtration at the end of a whip only. Sorry.....I just can't risk my beloved EQ that way.

Yea, I try to treat the EQ as a desktop unit and have the whip/glass setup arranged where I want to be seated. Preferably with nearly the shortest hose distance between the two as necessary. Also I try to go with less restriction, least telescoping until the Glass piece does it's magic. Might even get a few down-stems and use some select glass jars for a few more setups. Then save for an Othership, Mothership....

For now the swap-ability is at the end of the hose. I slipped the 14mm to 18mm tall F/F from @DDave 's kit over the silicone hose and can attach anything 18mm to the wand end. If you look at the upper right hand of the picture there is the adapter being used as a wand.

Since EQ setups are being posted here is my EQ setup. Unfortunately the 18mm connector going into the bubbler does not accommodate EQ screens but is rather hardy & is unrestrictive.

@Stevenski: nice bong! I ordered one yesterday just like that (http://www.smoketown-headshop.de/31cm-G-G-Showerhead-Bubbler-Bong)

Does it work well with the EQ? Do you get nice clouds out of it?
What do you mean the connector going into the bubbler is rather hardy & unrestrictive??

That is a very similar bong indeed :). I highly recommend that style for the EQ & I get hearty rich rips out of it. My Blaze honeycomb is just a little too big for super thick hits but the bubbler is perfect for my tastes & lung capacity these days.

I lift my vape adapter like a slide bowl & have a tendency to have that end bang off the side of the bong or table on occasion (especially after a few). That has resulted in at least 4 Arizer elbow joints demise & since I have been using the adapter I have neither broken or cleaned it in 4 months of fairly heavy use. Also the opening at the top of the adapter is at least 8mm across so is way less restrictive than the stock elbow. The only issue is that it is too thick to take EQ screens without massive warping of the screen.

Am I the only person not running my vapour through water. What am I missing here. I can take a long lung busting hit just from the whip. It's tasty and cool. What advantage does the bubbler bring. Also by the nature of science I'm sure that running the vapour through water will remove a small amount of active compounds.
I'm not poo pooing anyone's set up here, iv only ben vaping a couple of months, I am a novice compared to you guys on here. I'm just looking for information as I am interested on spending more of the money I saved from giving up smoking, on my eq. I have the full ddave kit. Now I want more. But only If it's worth it.

I love the elastic band at the top of the Q, like a nod/facepalm to those branding irons they call clouds :) Still a nice reminder there's hot stuff up top!

You'll have me digging around for more parts this evening :science:

Water path is fun.
However if you can vaporize without water even better.
Cleaning glass is a hassle.

hehe ... the small WT is cool, but i love to vape with some volume like the D020 bubblers.
the small wt is a bit warm after a while and the vapor is not as cool as it could be, bit on the harsh side.

Awesome pics guys!! Does anyone do any dabs on their EQ. And if so how? I heard cotton swab, but not exactly sure how to set it up.
It's not so much dabbing, but vaping concentrates. Cotton can hold the concentrate, just don't use so much that it drips onto the heater! Many make a herb sandwich which lasts quite a long time in the EQ. Basically, put a layer of herb, a bit on concentrate, top with herb.

LOL YAZZZZ!! thank you!!! i might try the sandwich method. I do that with my keif and it works really well!! would you say that i need to bump up my temp a bit for concentrates? I'm running it at 220c at the moment..

Experiment a bit with temps... concentrates vary quite a bit, as will the effects/clouds/flavor you seek.

When I experimented with this, I did go between 220 & 230C... but I was looking for fast extraction with least draws.

Loves me a kief sandwich or two. I only get kief out of my 4 pc grinder but one day I would like to vape only kief or bubble hash. That is easier said than done in Oz though as most of us get no choice when it comes to strains you take what you are given :(.

With my current set up I can get big extractions very easily though. Bung it on 230 & ride that rocketship to Mars. That said I am very curious as to single pull extractions through the DDave 14mm kit. That may be the closest thing I will find to "punching a launcher cone" in vapeland. It will also be quite a bit cheaper than purchasing an Evo & tube for $600+ for sure.
