Bummer,. Too bad this thread got so derailed and hostile.

There is a psychology in how to deal with skeptical and/or irate and/or dissatisfied/negative customers and potential customers. Sadly, most manufactures do not have anyone on staff that is knowledgeable in that "psychology".

From my point view, I think it is imperative that ANY manufacture who makes their presence known here must have these skills for if they don't, they can actually create bad-will where none had existed before.

Bummer,. Too bad this thread got so derailed and hostile.

I did mean in not speaking in relation to heat transfer physics, not all together haha

I do not agree that a spacer screen makes a convection vaporizer out of a conduction vaporizer. I thought Stu's videos show what is happening is heat radiation like what happens in an oven.

The way I define a convection vaporizer is when preheated hot air from a heat source is drawn through the load. The movement of hot air through a load is what produces the vapor.

A screen placed in a heat conducting bowl is not the same as preheated hot air flowing through a load as the primary producer of vapor. What we are truly talking about is heat radiation. One could say it provides an element of convection or maybe even better pseudo-convection. :2c:

If by "Pseudo-convection" you mean the heat transfer as a whole is part convection then yes, that would be the case with a suspended screen, but convection still plays a large part in the process as does radiation. This was never touted as a convection vaporizer, but it isn't a pure conduction vaporizer either. I stated my reasons for using each in their in their respective situations but i lean towards convection personally and so would be using a screen to better serve this purpose in situation where it is perferable.

Simply using a shallower basket in the heater would create enough distance from the majority of the heater to increase the convective transfer to make it the dominant source of vapor production.

There weren't any other claims made but the ones above, if there is any confusion then i can help sort it out.

As for the psychology i understand it very well - however i am subject to my own idiosyncrasies and genetic moulding and must try and apply some metacognitive restraint.
Personality traits define us and all would likely be friends if in actual company, but the internet is free and that is what makes it beautiful .

Some of the rules confuse me and so i best keep it short and professional as suggested before, no need to have anyone break them for a clash of egos.

Im always around to answer questions and offer help if needed, though i do enjoy partaking in more in depth discussion of course. :leaf:

I gotta say, after fucking with the Haze and all its possibilities, I am not so concerned about convection/conduction/radiation anymore...I just want it to work! At the end of the day, I got in line because I like 7th Floor products. I will be shocked if they release a piece of shit portable after being at the forefront of strong vapor hits for so many years.

I spent a lot of time wanting a one-hitter instead of session vapes, and yet I still end up doing sessions with my convection vapes.

I think the vapor coming off the Haze convection load after 35 seconds was due to radiation.

I feel you. I can't make myself happy. I though I wanted a certain type of vape. Really I just want new vapes.

Will the people who preorder get a chance to pick the color of the device and glass? Would it be an extra fee?

@7thfoorvapes or @Herb-nerd how is the draw on this, is restricted like a haze or solo or is wide open like the rest of your vapes?

There is a slight restriction due to the air flow path, but for most part it's pretty wide open. Even someone with "weak" lungs, so to speak, should have no issues getting a nice, big, vapor cloud just like the rest of our vapes! Ride the Wave

That is awesome to hear!! I don't have weak lungs quite the opposite and don't care for much restriction as it makes me feel like I'm going to collapse my lungs.

I hope they come in black, as to be discrete.

So pumped to see an image,. Any chance we can get some dimensions?

We will have Black, as well as other colors. The dimensions are roughly 2" wide x 5" tall x 1" thick (at widest point)

@7thfoorvapes Where my I ask did the "L" in 7thfloorvapes go?

P.s.pretty excited about 7th floor portable.

DBVand LSV owner here!

Lol that's for pointing out our typo ;) We are very excited as well! We will continue to release more info and photos this week! Ride the Wave

I do kindof like the look. I like the contour to fit nicely in your front pocket. It seems like it would lay flat and not be any more noticeable than a cell phone or pack of smokes, ect.

Sorry if this has been covered, but is the battery going to be proprietary? There is some excellent batteries already developed and readily available ala 18650's. Would love to see a non proprietary battery. One of my least favorite things about the Firefly and favorite things about Zion tech. Thanks.

There's a reddit post about it where it's said to use two user-replaceable 18350s.
