Oh yes, before I forget, another thank you to Randy at Puffitup for taking care of me on every single thing I buy from him. In my opinion, you're crazy buy anyplace else as far as price and service!!! Thanks Randy...

Completely agree with you, unless you are in Canada with our crappy dollar right now...then again, his service is so "above and beyond" that I actually think it's worth it for me to spend a bit MORE so I can have the assurance and customer support of Randy and PIU! In fact, from the respective thread, I think he's adopted a new slogan?

I too have been more than thrilled with Andy over the years, always blows my mind but since I'm north of the border I tried using vaporizers.ca, and will ONLY be buying from Randy from here on out again. What a difference! A pleasure vs pulling teeth and smashing your head against the wall.

"PuffItUp, better than pulling your teeth and smashing your head against the wall"

We have a new slogan!!

And how in the world did you manage to do that? Did it slip out of your hand? (giggity!)

Hahahahahaha! You just made my morning! Yep, grossest taste ever....well maybe not ever, i'll attribute that one to Rick Simpson Oil in hot chocolate....I actually did throw that one up! :puke:

Irony at its best. If I use a dome screen and half load size, I get double the session length vs a full stem. Sweet!
New AA names:

2. Ariel (titanium angel)
3. Archer (black turtleneck)

With the full stem you're probably getting more vapour with each hit though. Do you notice a difference in efficiency? I'm shadowing you bro, my consumption has dropped down to 1g/day as well, vaping all day as much as I feel like. First time i've ever had to tap out! Air #1 on its way, Solo #2 on its way...we're the same, but different, my love falls mostly for the Solo - which makes sense due to my water use with gong, and I know you're dry only. I much prefer the Air (like you with the plastic tip) for dry use and my wife prefers the Air due to its slightly more airy hits via gong. Looking forward to posting both air and solo videos in the near future with my gong and water tools!

I was using a metal tool to try and get the screen out, and I busted out the side of the bowl. Oddly enough, my stems have been pretty good at surviving falls.

All that nasty taste and little effect:/ guess my tolerance is too high, next time im gonna try two stems

Bummer. A suggestion, next time hook it out rather than pry? I took a safety pin, heated the tip to glowing with a torch type lighter, then tapped it with the back of a pair of pliers to make a short right angle hook on the end. You can bend it cold, but it's much easier when glowing red and soft. A gentle tap or two does it.

Then slip the hook down between the screen and tube, slip the tip through the mesh as you rotate it 90 degrees and pull it straight up. No side pressure on the glass.....no risk of damage.

I might get a bit more vape with each draw out of the full stem (early on), but sometimes NO. I'm getting just as medicated from a half as a full stem with way better taste throughout either way. 1G a day and I'm at full... I've dreamt of a Z lasting a month back in the old doob days, now it's a reality and more.

MORE AA TIPS
Weed prepped just right (shredded in medtainer 2X, dried). Nice, almost crispy (not super fine) powder).
Easy to load with fingertips and just tamp with index finger right to the top. This matters.
Keep sipping, don't let sit too long, or too many times. Keep heat in bowl.
Draw resistance is moderate, but use it to hover the draw in the stem. Stem ppl know what I mean.
Sometimes, like right now, and I'm typing, I forget to sip enough, but I'll get 2 "slower" (less draws per minute) rounds on blue, bump to white or green and finish.
Each round is a full on / off cycle.
Second stem always seems better than first, oven nice and warmed.
Don't get greedy on each hit, if tastes wanes during hit, let sit for 10 or 15 seconds and cook before rehitting,
I seem to get into a cycle with the vape, way better if I vape alone. Passing around is too many variables to control.

I feel like I'm mastering an instrument here. Every day I hit new and higher notes...

Man @Bravesst, this should find its way into some Arizer bible :)
No shit, just when reading this, I finished a nice session which went pretty much like your suggestion.
Nice to see that my Air rehearsing is next to your combo! Same tune. :D
Appreciate your post - great to share this. I would never nail it like you do... Folks listen up to this man!

Cheers

Now I need a scale cause I'm curious how much I use in the bowl. And per day. I've been referring to it as an ...asprin size... amount as I saw someone describe it..Sometimes I see how many hits I can get. But I always lose count. Sometimes I try for the biggest hits and see whats the fewest I can get. Still lose count.

I remember asking about the Efest Luc V 4 charger. My specific question was 110-240 or 110 only.

It is finally in my hands and the rating is for 110-240, meaning it can be used all over the world.

Haven't used it yet, now to use my Air enough to discharge 4 batteries so I can charge them and see how my new toy works.

Arizer Air trigger pulled! Common, $199CDN with FREE shipping, FREE 2nd battery, and FREE 3rd glass stem! POW!!

Made a bunch of efficiency glass milk vids with the Solo yesterday, so stay tuned for those, and when the Air arrives - it will be head to head Solo and Air videos for all!

You will not be disappointed biohacker. What colour did you get?

I have found a great general use tool is the SSV stir tool. Perfect for poking out your Air screens & for cleaning EQ elbow screens.

Yup, I got a deal from Canada too. I have to quit lurking all these threads. Nervous twitches happen and VAS kicks in. Thanks for The Best Of summary section. Mine arrives this week!

+1 on all those.
In the longer term I'd add for those who use screens for cleaner wand hash:
Screen maintenance: Keep your screen clean!
The finer the mesh and the flatter (glass seems to cool it down so resin condenses? Or something...), the quicker they seem to clog up.

Once clogged, the only available air path is presumably at the edges of the now more or less solid screen so hot air enters the pack at the sides (small space so probably travelling fast - less time to diffuse) while nothing goes straight up in the middle. Less herbal surface ends up exposed to the stream of hot air I'd guess? I've experienced very poor air (or solo) extraction with a badly clogged screen.

Good question! I didn't have an option! Solo came black so I assume it will be black too. I plan on getting a black silicone sleeve regardless. I used to have a Silver Air, and it was ok but I prefer black for stealth.

AWESOME - we're now AA buddies. There is another word I was thinking, but AA is so much better.

another bonus on using dome screen for smaller loads, no stirring ever necessary to get complete extraction (if all else good). I have the coolest stir tool ever (one with three prongs that just fit AA stem). I use it to empty stem and it does a good job as scraping screen pretty clean between real cleanings.

I have 10 batts. I'll charge two or three during the day. I don't usually plop on charger before bed (don't like to overcharge), so in the AM, I'll put another 2 to 4 batts on charge. So I guess the answer is 4 to 7... Usually a battery will give me three or four sessions (depending on temp, how many draws), but always at least 3. Sometimes I know I can squeeze a 4th, but as soon as I see red, I swap out. My batteries are holding up pretty good this way. I use nitecore I4, and the Arizer 2 batt charger.

Been a while since I was active on FC.

My m105 solo that has been serving me loyal for the past 3 or so years has been needing replace. The battery life is, of course, not what it used to be and plus some random issue with not wanting to turn on/off (might be button issues). Plus the m105 solos seem to run cooler than the newer solos that my friends ended up buying.

So, after accidentally breaking my last remaining solo stem the other night, I decided it was time to just buy a new vape and settled on an Air, which should be here Wednesday, courtesy of puffitup.com.

A couple things I was wondering about (which I honestly just dont have time to sift through nearly 300pgs of info to find answers to):

- Are the stem load sizes any different than solos? It looks like they are about the same. Also looks like they still dont come with a screen and use the same 4-hole design.

- Is the performance roughly the same? I've heard comments here and there about it not retaining heat quite as well as solo, and hope this doesnt result in thinner hits. I see it comes with some sort of sleeve, which I'm assuming helps with heat retention... hopefully without causing the battery/electronics to run too hot? Seems weird that it covers the (what I'm assuming are) vents at the top of the vape.

- I know it's able to be used while charging, but is this safe or has it resulted in failed units like the solos i heard about? I think I will eventually buy another battery or two and external charger, but at this point I'm only vaping a couple times a day, so a single battery should suffice. Out of curiosity, can it be used on AC power with no battery in it?

- Beeps? I liked that solo beeps for auto shutoff.

I can handle a couple of those queries...

I've never used a Solo, but have read many times here that the Solo stems are interchangeable with the AA. Not really sure about the older Solos, though.

I believe I've also read that the Solo is a bigger hitter, too. But I have zero complaints with the hits I get with the AA. Proper techinque and cleaning go a long way, as a Solo user probably already knows.

Some AA owners have modified the sleeve so that it doesn't cover the cooling vents. If cutting the sleeve, though, do so carefully because it cuts like butter.

While it's designed to allow usage while charging, I've never used the AA while it's charging. I have three batteries that I rotate. I charge them in the AA when it's not in use (typically a 2 hr. charge per battery). I wouldn't go with under two. Using just one will probably get old quick, so I'd throw another battery in the shopping cart.

I think the AA has a ten minute shut off? Not sure if it beeps then or not because I've never gotten it to that point. I shut it off on my own when I've done my four or so delicious hits.

The SOLO stems will fit the AIR. However me personally i would not use them. Most SOLO stems are a little bigger than the AIRs so the stock stem will be looser after using the SOLO stems. Eds and Jodas stem for SOLO will not fit the AIR.

The OEM stems are the same/interchangeable. no screens.
I hear the performance is similar...
I like the sleeve. It does seem to help with heat retention to an extent. still testing this as it seems like it would matter MUCH more in the cold months. To me it seems to keep the lower area of the unit (battery area) cooler. Still working on actual temperature measurements. I slit the bottom of mine so I can spin off and change the battery without screwing with the silicone case, day 2 and I love it so far. The little part that covers the bottom of the unit that screws off may get lost, but I really care more about it covering the vents at the top.
Don't use it while you are charging it. The battery charger does not put out enough juice to heat the unit and the battery will still drain faster than the charge goes in equaling a net loss. This has caused many battery failures in other devices (in my experience) and should be avoided. Just spend $20 for a second battery and external charger... You can not use it without a battery. It won't heat up.
After 10 minutes of use the unit shuts off. there is a beep which can be turned off/on by holding the up button for 2 seconds while the unit is on.
Hold the down button for 2 seconds after powering on the unit to resume the last temperature setting that was used.
K?
