THC Eliquid

Hello, I am Interested in making THC Eliquid. I was thinking of using everclear as the base as I read it extracts more thc than PG or VG and then transferring the extract into VG. The other thing is should I decarb the cannabis cause wouldn't the coil be able to turn the THCA to THC I have a mod with high temp output.

Check this thread out. I'd re-ask your question there.

In the future when looking for help with a question thru FC, I find it easiest to google your question and just add 'FC' to the end and often times you'll get some narrowed down links to this site. For example, when you google 'THC E Liquid FC' the thread I just shared is one of the first results (at least when I googled that's what happened).

A lot of threads get started around here just to be linked to another already existing thread so that leads to a butt load of threads that kinda do nothing for us.

Sorry I can't answer your question myself! Don't mean to sound like a dick! Welcome to the forum!

Unless you just want cannabis flavored juice, extract first, but not into PG/VG. You could use everclear then mix with EJMix or simulation thereof going 1:1 or so, but do read up on it first. Check out that thread mentioned here, also look up GrowGoddess, she has a whole load of great information that is extremely handy. She is a member here as well.

Wouldn't the vape coil get hot enough to turn the thca to thc ? Some people say you don't have to decarb.

You do not have to decarb if you are vaping it. GrowGoddess has a ton of good info on making cannabis e-juice - you could even do a google search. I don't think I have ever seen anyone that knowledgeable about it anywhere. I think she vapes both regular and decarbed extract, and that the effects are a bit different. I have never used naturally decarbed material myself, but I started the process, and have another couple of months to go.

Look up QWISO and QWET on the skunkpharm website for very detailed yet easy to understand extraction info.

I'm currently doing the everclear THC Extraction. It came out very light green and smells wonderful. Only soaked the cannabis for a couple hours. It's not dark green so there shouldn't be alot of plant material

Next time only do it for a couple of minutes. You pick up too much chlorophyll and unwanted stuff for long soaks like that. You can put it outside in the sun for a little bit while covered (like in a sealed jar before evaporation) to get maybe rid of the green color which will concentrate as your liquid evaporates, probably turning black.

Excerpt from: http://skunkpharmresearch.com/qwet-extraction/

Quick Wash Ethanol, also know as QWET is one of the techniques commonly employed to extract oil from cannabis.

Here is skunk pharm’s QWET formula to produce an absolute using a 3 minute quick wash.

As most of our extracted oil goes into oral meds, we also decarboxylate ours. This process is based on the 252F curve shown in the attached graph.

The first question is why use a quick wash technique to extract the resins, instead of long soaks to extract as much resin as possible, or just boiling the material in alcohol to get the greatest amount of extracted material?

The answer to that is that because alcohol is a polar solvent that is soluble in water, the latter two techniques also extract the water solubles like chlorophyll and plant alkaloids, as well as the plant waxes and vegetable oil.

Even quick wash does to a lesser degree, but the added steps that we include here minimize pickup even further and we take additional steps to remove the impurities that we do pick up.

Hope that helps. Winterization information is on the website which might help. It will probably still vape as is, but it will likely gum up your coil in the atomizer pretty quickly and may taste and smell planty. Winterization removes some taste though.

Are you able to Evaporate some of the alcohol and then mix it into VG? Would it take time for the VG to mix with the Everclear & THC?

Cannabis oil will not be soluble in VG - only thing you could do is an emulsion of sorts, but it would likely separate. Evap your ethanol. A little bit left over probably won't hurt you in a tank and may even help mix, but even just a tiny bit probably tastes bad.

Do yourself a favor and search posts on the net by growgoddess and on that skunkpharm website. Also google the liquidizer, and there are some basic instructions there as well. They are the guys who make the ejmix which I think with your extract will be the only way to get it into solution.

I would evap your everclear/oil blend until it is a smallish amount (30-50%), toss in the freezer for 24 hours or so, and gently pour off what is there, leave behind the crap at the bottom, pouring through a coffee filter. Hopefully you used over 190 proof. It might not grab anything but it's already in ethanol so you may as well see if it drops out any fats and waxes from the extended soak

Good luck, again one last time check out skunkpharm and posts by growgoddess.
