I don't know who told you 35 Watts for AA, but they're tuggin' on your lariat partner! I just measured mine, the battery is 3.8 Volts, it's drawing 2.7 Amps peak (cold). 3.8 times 2.7.....10.7 Watts. Throttled back a bit from it's big brother, Solo, which runs about 2.2 Amps at 7.2 Volts....say 15 Watts. Conduction is more efficient than convection power wise, by a LOT sometimes.

GH is a nominal 1200mAh battery IIRC, like ESV (also a convection vape with fast heat up). ESV delivers about 50 eight second hits if you don't go nuts (or so they claim). GH should be less than that (less insulation, less effective bowl shape). I estimated a year or so back you'd get 4 or 5 minutes of vaping from a battery, not he 3 hours (later raised to four?) then claimed. GH has seriously backed off their early claims when the real world rules caught up with them.

Looked at from the other side, 1.2 AH times 3.6 Volts is 4.3 WH. At 45 Watts you can expect less than 1/0 of an hour. Air has twice the battery capacity (broad terms) and uses 1/4 the power, 8 times more life per charge ignoring the internal losses which will be higher with the smaller battery being pushed harder.

If you go through 8 batteries a day in your Air you're going to need pants with bigger pockets to hold the equivalent run time in GH batteries....... 60 or so should do for a start?

You will be waiting a long time for a Grasshopper if you just ordered this past spring or summer. If you haven't ordered yet it might even be a year, who knows.:hmm:

The Air is available now for your vaporizing pleasure. The company didn't even hardly talk about this unit before it was released. All of a sudden I heard about this wonderful little vaporizer. At first you could only get one through Arizer but all the online stores are carrying this unit. PIU (Puffitup) is the bomb for good prices and customer service.

Very few faulty units we are hearing over almost a year's time come this Black Friday.

I've been checking on the GH thread. Not sure how everything will pan out? I'm hoping that we get this one available soon but it won't be real soon. The bugs are being worked out by the investors, which turned out to be the beta tester.:lol:

I read it in a post around this site somewhere, but it doesn't matter.
I didn't to maths because of the maths I did earlier, but I do remember seeing a max of like 3.9a when measuring, but a more common 2.9a which at 4.2v starting would be like 12watts so yeah, do you think that they would give me a deal on a 100 pack of GH batteries? I'll hire a neighborhood kid to keep em charged all the time.

Hey bro, just curious why you like the Air so much more than the Solo? After owning many, many Solo's, and two Airs, I still prefer my Solo for many reasons. Now, I don't exactly have portable needs outside of the home, so that could be why....i'm sure i'd love an Air for being on the go, but from a pure performance perspective, the Solo prevails IMHO simply due to the 2nd battery, and I still maintain that the Air has a bit more airy vapour production in contrast to the Solo (something to do with that top cap?).

Furthermore, why 3 Airs? Isn't one enough and just swap the batteries? Or even two......but three?

I can make this bad boy sing. The performance is amazing, I'd put it up against any desktop as far as how medicated I get. Maybe the clouds aren't as huge, but I've learned that really doesn't matter. I use dome screens, load about .07 and can make a gram last ALL DAY, and feel like I'm vaping as much as I want. I start at blue, get about 10 or 15 nice sips, bump to green, and get another 10. That's 25 sips from .07 - can it get better?

I found the key is to prepare the herb, make sure it's shredded and dry. It will cook for a long time under those conditions, and in a plastic tip stem on blue, the taste is off the chart. I use two at once some times, as this type of usage really gets the oven cooking.

As far as owning 3... I usually swap Airs back and forth after a few stems, gives it a chance to cool down a bit, not work so hard. And of course, you need that spare... And at Randy's prices, how could I not?

I love the feel of the AA, like an e-cig or cigar, satisfies my old dube days (tactile sense and feel). I don't like to hold a fat solo or even a corded nano (even though they work great). The size, cord, shape, doesn't do it for me, the AA is 'rolling paper'... I want the same feel, like a cig smoker, every time I put that familiar old friend in my hand. I'm not saying, I don't like an occasional change (nano, zion on order), but I want to hold and sip my AA over any vape I've tried by 10X. The AA is truly portable, great to use while sitting, lying, standing, reading, writing, walking, and on and on.

It's easy to clean (you don't really have to clean it). The stems are easy to load and measure (important to me). The taste is great, the batteries are portable (never downtime), and it has more than enough power if the herb isn't wet.

I'm sure a left about 10 things out that I like, so I'll update....

Thanks bro, fantastic explanation....I completely understand, and agree! Looks like I will be getting an Air again in addition to a 2nd Solo! I think I just prefer the Solo more due to near exclusive usage of a gong/bong and I know you are not a water guy. The Air will be perfect for me for mainly dry usage, or for my wife with water (better for her than Solo since the Air has more flow/smoother).

I'm in the same boat as you, but with my Solo....i've brought my daily consumption down significantly, including tolerance, unless it is the vape signature talking. I'm a bit over .07, more like .1....also domed screen (have you had luck having them stay in place?) and the vapour just keeps on coming! Like you, I can feel like i'm vaping all day long too but only go through maybe 1/2 of what i'm used to!

If you get a dowel the same size as the inside dia of the stem (I think 3/8 is a drop big), or even an S&B brush, use it to "crush" the dome flat after you get it in. Sort of pancake it in their. It will push against the side and not come out, as well as create an even spacer, for more even cooking.

And I get maybe .08 in there sometimes... never seem to fit a full tenth
