How the flock can PayPal just keep the money?

It's one thing to cut you off but it's your damn $$
It's part of their terms and agreements that if you sell products or services that PayPal doesn't approve of they can basically seize your money, kinda like government drug forfeitures/seizure. I believe @VapCap from Dynavap just had money sucked right out of his bank account from PayPal.

It happens all the time If you google PayPal sucks you'll see what I'm talking about.

Not quite in it's current configuration - it can reach about 2/3rds of the way down the JyARz Classic, but I could extend it

Sure that's easy enough, I initially chose the stir tool because I figured everyone already has a poker tool lol

How's this look:

jERKL0E.png

Currently the height of the scrape tool is set to 6mm, but I can make it more narrow than that if you think it's necessary

Already have a Scoop-N-Scrape prototype in my shopping cart. But it's based on the current scrape design shown in the pictures above, I will need to re-upload if we change the scrape design.

 If only my one 3D printer would cooperate. Currently I've been running into problems printing my revised mold for the CU-Mod! 30 minutes into a 9 hour print, the plastic keeps jamming! :bang:

Hoping to have time this weekend to tear down the printhead and check out the feeder.

Just a thought,
you may consider giving the spoon square edges to get into the corners of many jars and stashes.

Cheers!

I think it may be time for community action. I have used PayPal for many years, but this shit is pissing me off. I think its time for a grassroots project to cancel all our pay pal accounts and tell them why. Make a FC Group with that in the title and point folks there from all over the web. Or someone create a free standing website linked off of paypalsucks.com.

We can't allow a financial company to have so much influence in an industry. Especially THIS industry. We have to fight back. Are You With ME??? (hey, pass that over here...)

Edit: Ratchett, have you looked in to Square?

Sadly Square doesn't allow transactions on high-risk items. This isn't paypal's fault. It's the US Government's.
The only thing we can do is warn other's such as @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd and @Bongologist that their days with PayPal may be numbered, and they should consider alternative payment sources so they're not stuck in a similar situation.

Quite a depressing weekend for me though, haven't had much motivation to invent. Hopefully this week will turn things around for me.

The only thing I hate Paypal for is doing it on a Friday fucking evening. Way to freeze my account for three days when there's NOTHING I can do since the banks are closed on the weekend.

@Ratchett ive been following along, and this is depressing. This is such a gray area apparently, even though it shouldn't be. I don't dislike paypal, they have done me right mostly, but I am fearful of running any type of business like this through them. When I decided to market my stands, I started with PayPal because I had an existing account with another business, but I was leary of tying the two together, and apparently my thinking was right. You are correct that this is mostly a us govt policy problem, but paypal is pretty weak defending the rights of their merchants as opposed to defending themselves, which I know is a tough balancing act. I'm not exactly sure which way I'm going to go with credit cards as I'm not convinced I'll have any less problems with Google or Amazon or any other payment service. I'll keep investigating other avenues and let you know if I come up with anything. Thanks for keeping me in the loop and I hope this works out quickly for you.

Also, that's bullshit on a Friday night, way to ruin a whole weekend paypal. Sorry my friend.

I am quickly learning how small and close-knit this industry is. I'm extremely grateful for a conversation I had with @Ed's TnT last year when he warned me Etsy and Paypal would kick me off as they did to him, and sure as shit he was right. I knew both were coming thanks to his warning, but chose to hold onto Paypal due to the convenience factor (both for me and the customers).

And I'm grateful for @VapCap who has helped provide some much needed information regarding his experiences in this matter.

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement so far, I'll be happy to share what I learn with @Bongologist or any other entrepreneurs looking to enter into this industry.

Vaporizing and Cannabis are the future, they can't stop us - only slow us down! Resistance is futile :borg:

I'm back! Pleased to report that PayPal was very reasonable and I was able to have my account unlocked and my money within a matter of days!

It took a week, but I managed to find a merchant vendor who has no problem with e-cigarette sales. Yes I'm paying a bit more for the service, but at least I can rest easily knowing my store is safe, and nobody else can shut me down (for now!)

Thanks to everyone for your words of encouragement and the advice of my fellow vendors. It's been a stressful week for me, but I'm very happy with how fast I was able to reopen the store.

Sadly I don't sell any glass at this time. I would be interested in selling glass or glass accessories if a glassblower like @Kushmangoes wanted to sell through my store - I certainly have the capability to handle multiple brands.

But I won't exactly stock and sell cheap Chinese glass on my store. I like to buy many pieces for myself (and use them as display stands for my store), But I don't want to associate my business and brand name with that quality (I'm personally growing tired of Chinese glass - nowhere near as good as a true glassblower using real German or American boro).

That said, a majority of the glass featured on my store was purchased directly from DHgate. I suggest looking at these two threads for more information:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/cheap-high-quality-bubbler.5255/page-766 (Only read the last 100 or so pages, most links on the first 500 pages are dead by now ha ha)

I would love to be a part of whats going on in this community. Sadly I haven't been very active lately because of my quartz job so I don't really know exactly what you're looking for in glass. I do understand that low cost and efficiency is in the nature of vaping so keeping the cost down without sacrificing integrity would be the main goal. Please message me with any suggestions unless its ok to discuss that on this page. Id love to hear what you guys have to say, thanks!

Good afternoon bro, meant to post up on this last week when I saw it but was as usual behind in my duties. Yeah I remember that talk we had and have since told a few other people the same thing, I only want to warn you everyone so you dont have to go down the same road, its not an easy journey. I have since been through another let down but was only a day or so, I found a great invoice tool you may be familiar with and also got an email from a merchant service that only deals with guys like us in our industry, their rates look to be very good considering our biz and maybe a better option for you if you need the info just let me know. One thing is certain, if anyone wants to walk in our shoes they will quickly see it aint all sunshine and rainbows, its a business in the end and at the end of the month I am still the last one to get paid, I am sure you feel the same as I, if we didnt love what we do so much we sure as hell could have it easier doing it for someone else! Keep your head up brother and by all means holla at me anytime!

Ain't that the truth! It's been a rough road, but I feel like I've gotten all hurdles out of the way. All my paperwork is in place, and my store/payment gateways accept the sale of E-cigarette accessories. So unless the laws change, I shouldn't have any problems.

Thx for the invoice info, I'll certainly have to hit you up later for that info. Don't need it yet, but I might!

You get paid?? Phew, I wish! :lmao:

Keep your head up brother and by all means holla at me anytime!

Ed, I'm buying you a beer next time I'm in your neck of the woods! You've been so awesome to me and this community!

In other news, I'm sad to report that after 13 years of loyalty to my day-job, it looks like the owner and I no longer agree on the direction of the company and I'm was forced to resign as of the end of this year. It's been a long time coming, but I sadly wasn't prepared for it to happen this soon. As such I'm most likely going to be relocating with my wife elsewhere in the country so she can further pursue her career in the golf industry (no she isn't a professional golfer :\)

Have no fear! Delta 3D Studios will survive! I fully intend (hellbent one might say?) to keep this company alive. While I may have to suspend shipping for 1-2 weeks while I move and setup my studio somewhere else, I will work as fast as possible to bring the studio back online. Maybe I'll finally have the space to hire help so I can decrease shipping times?

Lastly for some good news, I have acquired a third 3D printer - this will allow me to keep up with orders, while still designing prototypes for new products. In less than 6 hours the printer was setup and printing orders. Currently all three 3D printers are whizzing away (such a glorious sound, :borg: )

Thanks again everyone for your support. Loosing one's job is never a good feeling, at least I have Delta 3D Studios to keep my spirit alive!

Ah bless you brother. Keep your spirit.

I know it may not be as you'd plan, but forced change can be highly productive and sometimes it can actually be just the push you need, even if the timing appears off at first . . .

Wishing you, your wife and Delta 3D Studios all the very best for the future.

And I'm pleased to hear your passion and determination to the cause is relentless.

Keep on rockin' @Ratchett

Evening all!

I wanted to share with you a special project I've been working on. It's not quite finished but I could really use some feedback.

Ever since seeing the Grasshopper Vape, I KNEW I wanted to own a sexy leather case to hold the vape + essential accessories. After looking around, I couldn't quite find a Pen case to fit my needs (natch). So I managed to find a local leathermaker who is able to handcraft these leather cases for me using real American (Amish) leather! This guy is old school, but his quality is top notch, I was REALLY impressed with his leatherwork so much, I've decided to start stocking these cases on my store.

Here's a prototype of the case:
tBEFOth.jpg

hdPeCF0.jpg

There's one slot for the vape, and three slots for batteries (or a special tube for herbs, which will be included free with each case), plus 1 large slot for oversized tubes (although I might split that pocket and make them two equal sized slots), and one mini slot between the two batteries to hold a poker tool for breaking up the ABV (which may be necessary for emptying the hopper depending on your herb)

We're tweaking some of the fittings (1/8th inch adjustments here and there, and swapping the larger pocket from the top to the bottom and swapping the pockets on top/bottom. But this is close to the finished product.

This guy does everything by hand, so changing designs takes a long time, I'm trying to finalize this before I order my first batch.

Also what are your thoughts on color? I know black is a popular color, but how does brown look on the inside or should I get Black on Black? I can order several different color configurations if you want (including orange and purple if you want some crazy colors!).
