Does anyone know of a way to reuse the stock Herbie bags? All of the ones I have have sprung a leak near where the bag meets the green squeeze piece. I have taken the green piece apart and it appears it can be hacked.

One thing I have tried with decent success when the Herbie bags get sticky is to use a little alcohol and swish it around the bag a few times and it really does a decent job of getting the bags back to that suppleness most users seem to prefer. However I do not know if by using a solvent on plastic does it cause any off gassing or what not so use with that in mind. Also you will need to rinse the bags several times after the alcohol and let air dry for best results.

Check out http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-herbalizer.9116/page-126#post-601288 I have replaced my own bags using the volcano bags and personally loved that combination. Others have used Turkey bags.

I personally don't like the design for how bags are blown up. An empty bag flops on the side and as it fills up it puts a lot of pressure on the bag where the mouthpiece is attached. It causes them to tear/rip after just a moderate amount of use forcing you to replace them. I use a custom adapter from @Oregonglassblower so that the bag can fill horizontally. It is the gentlest way to fill a bag and my bags last a really long time before replacing. I actually have to replace them because they start to smell funky and NOT because they ripped at the mouthpiece. Check out the last pic of my post at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-herbalizer.9116/page-252#post-811540 to see what I mean for how I use this adapter with bags.

I just got my Herbalizer this week . I ordered it through leafly's mobile app which leads you to Herbalizer.com for $579. I just ordered the delta3d adapter is this all I need to use a ht?im thinking of ordering grav lab ht from Aqualab tech . Also I have a question about grind consistency . I've been using a eq for about 4 yrs strictly elbow packs so I use a very fine grind . My question is what grind works best with this vape . I'm able to get pretty decent draws at any temp with the whip but the balloon vapor is not very impressive . Could it be my grind and the fan clogging the screen ? Thx for taking the time to read this .

A medium grind lightly packed works well. A very fine grind will clog the screen somewhat I believe. You can add a second screen on top of the load to help with cloud production as well.

Edit: Also, welcome to the forum @Vapebk ! What temp are you using?

Thx !!! Pleasure to be here been reading through for the last 2 weeks or so .
Ive been around 385 -400 f . I get great vapor with the whip . For some reason I can't get the balloon to fill densely .
Are you filling the bowl to wear it flares out or is that too much . Thx again

To the flare is fine and actually the recommended amount. Are you getting the effects that you want from the vapor even when it's not dense? Try cranking it all the way up to 445F. How many bags are you trying to get out of your bowl? Do you run it through more than once?

How bags are others getting cranked at 445? I seem to be getting 3 good ones and wanted to hear others results.

You will love your Delta3d adapter!

I too get less density than is expected when using bubblers and balloons. I don't find that it varies too terribly much on the grind, but others may have different results.

I'm pretty excited to get that adapter all the things I read on it were very good . Plus it's nice to give money to a fellow vaper warrior instead of some big company
As far as balloons go I think I'm over it I blew up one ballon maybe in all the years I had the eq .
I'm gonna experiment with different grinds . It's silly for me to expect the grind I use for the eq elbow pack would work perfectly in herbie

I have just started using the balloons through an EFS glass piece and it is amazing. I go 445 degrees and then take a GonG 14mm(Male) to 18mm(Male)and attach that to the bag. You stick the 14mm side in the green base balloon and the 18mm side to the 18mm female on my tube....fantastic stuff.

@Ratchett Delta 3d adpater and a hydratube = great combination

Herbie%20mV2%20HT.jpg

I always use my miniVAP modules in the Herbie (wire basket with herb snapped into flexicone top)
Herbie%20mV1%20bskt.jpg

I use just the Herbie bottom chamber. Above-- whip for direct hits or dump into a bubbler.
Many options

So for all you concentrate users...how often do you replace the aroma pads? Do you clean them?

I was a big fan of the OG Herbalizer adapter but I think the 2.0 is superior with the extended sleeve for my Herbie. I feel like it's really cut down on vapor escape for me.

I'm interested in your minivap basket mod. I may have to pick up a few minivap screens to try for myself.

Ok I've found with a less fine grind I'm getting much denser vapor . The material I'm using is pretty sticky so maybe that has soemthing to do with it too . Still waiting patiently for my ht and delta3d adapter

I am such a fan of the miniVAP "basket module". It's their wire basket with herb, snapped into the "flexicone" cover where you also snap in a round screen to keep the herb contained.
Here's how it sits in the miniVAP but it happens to fit the Herbie bowl too. I then use Herbie with just the bottom bowl and the basket module.
A hydratube will sit right on the flexicone for water.
You can connect a whip if that suits your needs. Or a whip to a bubbler.

You can have vapor go thru a hydratube AND then thru a whip with the HT adapter I had @Ratchett make:
3D%202%20whip.jpg

My previous post showed the full herbie bowl with the Ratchett Song adapter, where you can also slip on a hydratube or insert a whip into it. Ratchett Song is a little more stable than this "open face" use but each has its advantages

I just like the flexicones as I never have to clean the Herbie bowl and it's another level of protection to keep particles falling into the Herbie.

These are the mV wire basket, plus the mV round screens to insert, plus the silicone flexicone cover. Note that the "flexicone plus" is different, it's a silicone/ cover permanently attached to a 6" whip.

I just like have multiple option for my vapes!!

Me too. Where would we go to get the items we need?
...............................................................

I love the miniVAP baskets.
@stickstones has them. I assume he'll come on here to answer too.
There's a kit with pieces to make 4. I think it's $43 ??

MV Special Accessories Kit

I find them so handy for pre-loading, never have to remove Herbie bottom bowl.
The Herbie chamber stays clean/never needs cleaning.

I also need to experiment -- will the Herbie top bowl work over the basket IF you remove the Herbie's screen?? If so, you could then use Ratchett's Herbie Song to connect to a hydratube or attach a whip.
That combo would just be more solid---if that is something you desire.

What are you guys looking for, just the baskets? We recently started selling them by themselves so you don't have to order the whole kit and caboodle.

MV has two sizes of baskets, both sold in four packs for $28.

What size does one need for the Herbie? Or does it matter? Does one just hold more?

Both baskets are the same diameter, one is just deeper. It depends if you want a big load or not.

@stickstones , when you say 4 baskets, is that JUST 4 wire baskets OR 4 baskets and 4 screens and 4 flexicones?? To really do the job, folks would need the pieces to make the complete "flexicone modules" IMO

Almost there...
@MinnBobber

Thanks for the tip on using the Minivan basket system with Herbie!
Just tried it using the stock adapter that fits right over the Flexion nipple and i had the mouthpiece just resting in a 14mm joint, fits perfectly! This is the true lazy way!
Fire up Herbie and away she goes!
Then i spy my Swagger HT and it also fits perfectly over the Flexicone!
My HT works perfectly with the fan as well!

A lot of clean medicating done with a small basket!

@MinnBobber did you post a tutorial on constructing them? I'm very interested in doing this. I use small loads, so I imagine I just need the smaller version.
........................................
My best picture of the miniVAP "basket module". It fits into the Herbie bowl just like here--wire basket section goes into chamber (miniVAP or Herbie and I think Mighty/Crafty??).
Top piece is the "flexicone" , a silicone cover. A hydratube fits directly onto in (be it in the Herbie or miniVAP like the picture).
Inside the flexicone, at the bottom/widest part, a round screen snaps in to keep herb from being sucked into the flexicone/your mouth.
Next, the wire basket rim also snaps into the flexicone, directly butted up against the screen.
Voila---handy module that is multi-use.

miniV1.jpg

Multi-use module: also can rest upside down in a bubbler for use with just about any vape that can be inverted (not the Herbie though).
mVbskion.jpg

Invert your vape onto the module and vape away.

Another Herbie technique , but no picture :(
miniVAP module in bottom half of Herbie with flexicone up / wire basket in heat chamber .
OGB glass mouthpiece fits onto flexicone for nice cooled hits via glass, instead of thru tubing/ a whip.

I mix and match everything--use my Herbie whip with my miniVAP etc

Yes, flexicone with hydratube is probably my favorite Herbie combo for higher temps.
Often use glass mouthpiece/ flexicone up to 410 F and then switch.
And yes the fan works with this---my wife likes/needs a little fan assist with the HT
