Underdog Log Vapes

Brainpain

Seeking a happy mellow since 2012
I've had my Underdog for a few weeks and I am in love! I think I stated before I'm a total n00b. If not, I'm a total n00b. I use to help with chronic daily headaches. On a good day I'm at about a level four. On a bad day, shoot me. I started with edibles, and do make my own but they take awhile to kick in. Smoking is something I've used to bridge the gap.

So when I got the Dog I was ready. I watched the videos on YouTube so I kind of had an idea how to use it. I plugged it in and set it up with the aromatherapy part first then went out for a run. Came in to a house that smelled way better than I left it as the other dogs in my house, or one of them, had left his own aromatherapy before I got home. Thanks old man, Wiley.

I ordered two nylon pipes; one thinner one, one thicker. I like the thick one better because when the head is bad I don't want to put me ch pressure on the draw. I usually have a number of different strains (my nephew works for growers, plus I have my med card) so I tried some white the first time. OMG the pine flavor was intense and the draw so smooth. Even with my bong I coughed. Plus no odor!

Even though my main use is medical, let's face it, it's also a nice way to pass an evening. My husband is a total teetotaler. I rarely drink, he never drinks. He's cool with my use because it's the only thing that helps my pain, but I tease him a lot, "After dinner lets go home, get stones, and have hot monkey sex." And he blushes and declinesone of the three. Well one evening I could tell he was considering it. Knowing he's a huge Seth Rogan fan I broke out the PE and we watched 22 Jump Street, which suddenly was a piece of cinematic magic. He was shocked that it didn't make him bite the head off the dogs, go crazy, or lose his job and that he had a good time. The UD was great for his first time because no coughing. He did try to Clinton it at first, but then he relaxed and got into it. He admitted it was pretty awesome (and the payoff was worth it in more ways than one).

So the Dog is fantastic!

Wowweeee, seems I got me a truly beautiful B&W Ebony Dog! I gotta say to everyone that I have been dealing with @underdog Dave & @underdogette Amanda for some time now, getting tips and such from them, have been rapping with Dave for quite some time now with a PM here and there just to ask this or that and shoot the shit so to speak, they are both stand up people and really done me a solid on this UD! I have never had anything other than a pleasure when working with them or what have you every time were in contact. I got this in week before last but was outa town for a couple days, got back and got down in my back, work piled up and am trying to dig myself out from under all of it and had to take some product shots so I figured why not shoot this beauty. I havent been able to try it just yet as I am out but hoping things turn around soon. I so look forward to trying a couple stems through it! I must say that the work is impeccable to say the least, this species is super dense and finishes so sleek and lustrous, its a work of art! I gotta get my hands on my some ebony shorts so I can make some matching tricked out stems to get funky like with it!

Awesome, glad you like it dude, even if you haven't been able to really use it yet.

Ah yes and thank you, it's a prized piece and so expands my log collection. I am only missing two and figure I will never acquire them.

What two logs are you missing for your collection?

Heya Dogs just a heads up we'll be putting a refresh up (15-20pcs) soon, most likely tonight or tomorrow. Wanted to let you know in case anyone was about to pick up a new piece and wanted to wait. :peace:

Ahhh @underdog I am missing the PD and the WDZ I have a couple HI, a WW, a Hot Pod, a CRZ, an old MZ. What else could I be missing now that I have my beautiful UD?

Ah, I figured a PD might be one of them but had forgotten about the WDZ.. sounds like you've got a killer collection!

Heya Dogs, a heads up..

Now that I have the Air Core design where I'm satisfied with it I'm going to be taking the Standard Core out of production to rework the design.

This won't happen immediately as we'll need to work through our existing inventory of cores and the stock to make them.. I suspect we have enough stock to last us through 2-4 months depending on demand.

I'm telling you guys all this so anyone who wants to pick up a Standard can make sure they do so before they're gone. I usually prefer the Air Core myself these days but I know some people will prefer the slightly different performance of the Standard or will want one for their collection before they're gone or redesigned. :peace::2c:

Alright back to work for this Dog..

Cool stuff! I hope you are leaning more towards reworking the standard core rather than just outright cutting them from production....I love that I can keep it on all the time and it retains heat so well.

Albeit a bit too well, holy hell my Amboyna runs hot :) not a bad thing really just am always very mindful of my draw speed using it, I did combust for the first time in months (1st ever with the Underdog) a few weeks back, overpacked and drew too slow.

Whatever route you go, I'm sure it will be great for us users, you always have us at the forefront :)

Killer refresh...loving that Banksia what a unique looking piece

Thanks for the heads up @underdog. Any chance you might provide us with some info on the upcoming changes to the standard core? Sorry if i'm asking this too early, it just sounds exciting!

Not really sure since I haven't started yet but I do have some hopeful goals like reducing the part count (current design has 12 parts welded together) for easier building, increasing the thermal isolation of the core from the wooden body and seeing if we should increase, decrease or not change the mass. Normal design evolution and tweaks like we're always doing (but rarely announce) but this time I want to take it out of production so I can focus and take my time. :science:

I don't see cutting it outright as being very likely but anything is possible depending on how things go. That does become more tempting though now that the Air Core is finished and developed to a point that the Standard doesn't have much (if any) advantage. The current (non prototype) production Air Cores are happy to run 24/7 now and have a heat retention that's comparable to the Standard.

I recently re-spec'd our custom heating elements and they run even hotter now (as you noticed), seemed like a good way to go so people could use a dimmer to adjust temps vs a more expensive VVPS option.

Yeah I might need to have a pod dog again.......

The one on the site is a Shorty and could use a good home with an experienced user.. :brow: We'll probably have a few more Pods before the holidays too though and customs are also an option of course.

Well looks like my idea of waiting till December to grab a dog just went out the window lol. Guessing just grab the standard beech now and then give my self the gift of a badass looking air for Christmas:rockon:

I think we'll have enough Standards to make it through the holidays but again kind of hard to predict with a ton of accuracy. The Vape Specials (like the Beech) will definitely be the best pricing on a Standard though. If you do decide you want one sooner rather than later I think we have a few nice Walnut ones (previous Vape Specials) left too that are on the website.. IIRC those run like $5 - $10 more than the Beech but are super nice. :2c: Any which way I think we've got you covered.
