1st post on here, figured I'd share some of the stash. Was at Botanico the other day looking at concentrates and the budtender pulled out some wax samples that looked pretty much the same as their live resin samples. Bought a few of each to compare and whoever was doing the labeling definitely messed up haha, they taste exactly the same. $30/g for some live resin, I'll take it!

This is from my second QWET run made from kief. Strain is an unknown kush variety that I believe was outdoor/greenhouse grown. Turned out really well with no auto-buddering, taste is subtle but nice and it's less harsh than QWISO. This slab is just over 7g.

The stuff in the Platnium Oils container is actually my own concoction. First batch, didn't turn out as expected but it hits nice. It feels like a shatter, it will pop right out of the silicone. After a few seconds touching you skin, it becomes unstable and turns into play dough like stuff.

Super Skunk popcorn on top
Skunk #1 and White Diesel Haze popcorn mix on bottom

Bho run. Stilling waiting on that damn dnail press :ugh:

Taste is pretty good for popcorn. The skunk #1 mix is very skunky tasting but very smooth. The super skunk is sweeter but not quite as smooth.

I have nug of all three strains that will be pressed into rosin

Didn't get any better pics sadly but a buddy of mine is judging for The Karma Cup in Toronto and brought over his samples to share. Each of those baggies is a different shatter/budder/solventless sample, 24 in all. I ended up trying maybe 7 or so different ones in total as well as some vaped bud, edibles and topicals. In all he had 100 samples to judge, kinda crazy.

120u bag from my latest bubble wash.

Welcome to flavor country.

@Monsoon I get your position in making extracts because you can't buy quality extracts. For many, proper legalization and regulation in their jurisdiction will allow them to buy material as good as they want.

However, for me, I am only interested in making my own meds. I would try a dab of the work of other extract artists (not that the opportunity has ever presented on the dark continent where I live) and even trade if it were good, but I don't wanna buy extracts. I find the act of extraction therapeutic. I woke up this morning with a huge smile on my face knowing that I had plenty of beautiful bubble to dry out and dab.

I work in a high-stress, long hours type of career where there is no clear direction in terms of what I need to do to succeed, as a scientist, my job is to come up with said direction!

Extraction is a task from which I can get the satisfaction that only mastery of a given vocation/hobby provides. When I'm making my medicine, I know exactly what needs to be done, I know when I've succeeded because there is beautiful tasting/looking/smelling hash, shatter or rosin right in front of me that people around the world appear to drool over.

There is no wondering about whether what I'm doing is a complete waste of time. There is no stressing about securing very competitive research funding. There is no ass-kissing and lip service having to be paid to the right authors and scholarly trends. I can just do my thing and do it well!

That's all I want in life really - to do what I love, do a great job of it and when the law allows, to be able to share the spoils of this work with others who need it :)

EDIT: Just dabbed a little of this (left most of it to dry more, has only been drying 3 hours or so) and we have full melt! :D This stuff tastes like creamy chocolate!

Can you explain this "cleaning" procedure a little more please. What exactly do you do? Heat it at that temp then scrap with dabber?

Awesome!! Will Try!! Thanks!!!
Be careful man, do not wipe ISO with a qtip onto quartz, ti or sapphire nails whilst hot. Make sure they have cooled completely (especially quartz/sapphire, these can easily crack from the thermal shock of cool liquid iso on a hot nail). Ti will oxidate and degrade rapidly from exposure to ISO and other similar solvents whilst hot so best to avoid this here too (although obviously you're not gonna crack ti lol).

I believe SiC dishes are safe to iso wipe whilst hot however, like the one @Monsoon is using :)

LOL thanks!!! knowing me i would of done all the above mentioned error lol!! What is this SIC dish you mentioned? I have two titanium nails. One is a normal one (whatever that means LOL) and the other i believe they call it a "sabertooth". Its basically a bowl with six holes. i know this isn't the thread for this, SORRY GUYS/GALS!!

SiC is silicon carbide, an aerospace ceramic with far better taste and far, far better heat distribution than most nails (better heat distribution than ALL).

If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me bro :)

Left out the part where I let it cool first, ISO evaps too quickly otherwise.
Makes sense, I still don't use qtips, I tend to use either my SiC, Sapphire or Quartz halo until it's dirty, then clean and use another halo whilst cleaning.

I clean each as follows:

SiC Halo - torch the christ out of it.

Sapphire Halo - jack temp up to 900f, comes up almost spotless, then magic eraser to bring it back to brand new.

Quartz halo - jack temp up to 870f, floor of dish will clean up mostly with enough time, then iso wash, the magic eraser and repeat if necessary. Quartz is way harder to clean because it doesn't distribute heat well (ruling out cleaning it spotless with the heater) and the sides of the dish get filthy if you get oil on them! Magic eraser is indispensable in cleaning dirty quartz!
