Considering a crafty

So far I've owned the Solo, Air, and Flowermate v5s. The Solo and Airb deliver the best vapor quality so far but I'm considering the Crafty next.

I hear it has superior flavor over the Air. Is there anything out currently in a portable that's better?

Well it's a convection vaporizer so it'll be a bit of a different experience than what you've had so far.

I've heard a lot of people say the Crafty and Mighty have amazing flavor, but I haven't been super impressed with it. My LSV, Nano, and Cloud provide superior flavor.

I'm actually trying to find some tasty bud so I can do a head-to-head test between my Davinci Ascent and the Mighty.

The thing I think is nice about the Crafty and Mighty is the cooling unit - this helps provide a much smoother hit without the cough.

If you're looking for the king of flavor for portable vapes, it'd probably have to suggest the Firefly. Although even that vape has tradeoffs (its pretty heavy and the batteries don't last too long).

Decisions decisions...

The zion....it's pretty mu ch out. Units will be shipped hopefully this month and into next. Definitely worth the wait, if you haven't already check out the thread. Convection portable with removeable batteries, and flavor hits to as much vapor as your lungs can hold hits.

I haven't used a Crafty, but the Mighty has very good flavor, and, crucially, never delivers any burnt unpleasant taste, even at the very end of a bowl.

I wouldn't say the flavor is amazing the way the FF is (which, like most convection vapes, can get a burnt taste at the end). But it's surprisingly good, and better than many desktop convection vapes I've used.

Assuming the Crafty is similar in flavor profile to the Mighty, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The crafty is the best portable I've used, so far so good.

I've been tempted to buy the Mighty. The cost stops me also I like a glass air path. I've read that the Crafty's battery doesn't last that long for a portable.

I've been looking into the miVape by Vaporfection, it just really grabs my attention with the physical appearance.

But if I were to know absolutely nothing about vaporizers, and saw the Crafty sitting next to the miVape on a counter...

I would think the 340$ price point would be reversed...

The Minivap is expensive but it looks awesome. Not sure the cost? I think it's around $500. I couldn't get the website to allow me to see the cost. It was acting up. If the Mighty is $400 anyway what's another $100. It seems kinda big though. You can't just buy it anywhere. It looks like you have to buy through the company.

Another thing to consider when buying the crafty is how often you vape. The crafty is pretty awesome and efficient but it is not a back to back vape. You need to let it cool down between sessions. I mean yes you can go ahead and do back to back but the chances of damaging it or the battery increases. My plastic shell broke on mine possibly due to overheating and I sent it in.
but they do have some good warranty service. They even called me up and talked to me. The repair guy was super nice and asked me about how my day was going and chit chat. All in all they fixed it and sent it back overnight or two day service I think. You cant beat that. I have heard some horror stories about companies like minivap where people would send their vape in and not get it back for months.

I have a Crafty, Mighty, MiniVAP, and VXL EVO ... (and many others but these are the only real ones I use in my lineup)

I haven't used the MiniVAP much since I bought a Crafty and not at all since I bought the Mighty as a backup to my Crafty. I like my EVO at home, but I also travel quite often, and am not back to "home base", even a hotel room, sometimes for a whole day. Crafty with a USB pack did me well (4 sessions per charge, not back to back), but when I got back to hotel would use MiniVAP more, plus usually by then Crafty battery would be low.

When my Crafty died (started flashing after about a year, and didn't work, had to send back, I received an updated replacement within a week or so and I'm in the middle of nowhere in Canada) In the meantime though I also bought a Mighty from PlanetVape because I needed something for the upcoming weekend. Since then I really now only travel with my Crafty and Mighty. When out and about (especially away from my car for a while), I use my Crafty and love it. When back at the hotel or sometimes when gone for really long periods and have my car or a backpack or something, then I use the Mighty. My Mighty also gets used primarily when I go visiting a friends house but I bring my Crafty when out and about on work for the day and need to vape on the go outside.

The cooling units on Crafty/Mighty are nothing short of amazing, so that really makes the whole experience while portable so much better for me. The MiniVAP isn't at all discrete, but is sort of portable. Higher quality vapor but without water, or something large to cool the vapor, I can't tolerate the heat (it's great through a small hydratube for instance though). Apparently MiniVAP is working on a Cooling Unit though ... very exciting!!!

Anyways ... I'm rambling quite a bit here ... but there are a few points of note above:

1. All 4 units mentioned above are big hitters and capable of getting one "there" quickly
2. each will efficiently vape .15-.25g in <2 minutes once heated
3. Crafty/Mighty are heated in <2 minutes and MiniVAP/EVO take >=5 minutes (give or take)
4. Crafty can do ~4 sessions on battery
5. Mighty can do ~10 sessions on battery
6. MiniVAP can do at least 10 sessions on battery I believe, but haven't tested and can't really remember the stats
7. Crafty and Mighty are both quite portable but Crafty is "pocketable"
8. MiniVAP is only sort-of portable ("travelable" would be a better term than portable in this case )
9. EVO is a great @ home vape (in my opinion)

CarolK, Hashtag was looking at the miVape, not the miniVAP. Not a mis-spelling of miniVAP.

Crafty is a very discreet unit. However, if you can handle the slightly bigger size of the Mighty, that's a much better/more reliable unit IMO.
Mighty repair record seems much better than the Crafty---although by no means stellar.
Crafty battery capacity is small so frequent, almost constant charges are needs. Best battery life comes from discharging to only about 20% and charging to only about 80%. With Crafty, this is not very realistic as it's capacity 0-100% is so small.

Mighty has better repair record.

miniVAP is great but not portable as in "carry in pocket". Carry in backpack type size. But it has incredible taste, incredible efficiency, and longest battery life out there--up to 3 hours on low temp. Note--most don't vape on low temp but still longest out there.

Crafty/Mighty max temp is 410 F . miniVAP max is 440 F.
miniVAP has optional power puck to use with AC as a desktop.
Mighty/Crafty have some ability to use while charging BUT that destroys their "not removable/ not DIY" batteries even faster.

I'm thinking about getting the Haze V3 they've just come out with an upgraded model. I like the fact that it has a 10 year warranty. It also can vaporize concentrates if you have access to them. The cost is around $250.

Check the thread out. I've been going through the first 5 pages and I'm working on the last 10 right now. it looks like there's a lot of happy FCers.

I actually picked up the Crafty! So far so good. It seems more efficient at lower temps than my Air and the vapor production may be greater but the taste doesn't seem to be superior like some have stated. I truly believe the Air is on par or maybe slightly better in the flavor department alone.
