It just sounds like the current design allows smaller particles to fly through... meaning maybe it's intended to use with a coarser shred vs grind?Hoppers don't seem too picky on grind. Course will still output well, I prefer finer or coarse because it allows you too ensure a more consistent extraction and normally vapes the herb darker.
But some much of these are personal preference factors, the Hopper doesn't control production its user based.
Its just their mouthpiece design has holes which is great for airflow. But they are holes that are wide enough that a coarse shred doesn't prevent particulates from going through. Not to say they will keep coming through throughout the entire session, more likely in the beginning. Its honestly not a big deal IMO, no one I've vaped with seemed to be bothered by it. Its also easily fixed by adding a real screen. It just sounds like the current design allows smaller particles to fly through... meaning maybe it's intended to use with a coarser shred vs grind?
I haven't had any problems with getting anything in my mouth and it has been some powder. I use a pair of suture scissors in a bottle because my hands won't do a grinder. Can use while charging. It consumes faster than it charges. Expect at least 20 draws per battery. How's the battery life on the grasshopper? Can you use it whilst charging? Does it consume faster than it charges?
This is the same for all the passthrough features I think....but I agree a pastrough which avoid to use the battery would be better! It's pretty crappy from the reports. Yes you can use it while charging but there needs to be some charge on the battery it self before you can use pass through. Unsure about that last part.
Sorry for my poor choice of words. If it doesn't eliminate the battery from the equation, it's not a pass-through. The Grasshopper has no pass-through functionality; it only allows you to use the heater while the battery is charging, in which case it charges and discharges in cycles. This is the same as newer model Solos.
Doing this often will shorten the lifespan of the battery. If you end up constantly using the Grasshopper at the bottom of the battery's capacity (use while charging until the battery is empty, wait until the battery has charged just enough to be used again, repeat) you'll kill the battery in short order.
wouldn't that, (by your definition), be dubbed "bypass charging" then? "Pass through" charging, in my mind, means the battery is very much in the equation, as it is passing power through itself whilst being charged. If it doesn't eliminate the battery from the equation, it's not a pass-through.
Disclaimer: I'm a layperson, this is just what I've been told when asking what "true pass through" means.wouldn't that, (by your definition), be dubbed "bypass charging" then? I could be wrong. Definitely happened before
Agreed! @Ratchett - the gh stand looks great! Now all I need is my gh!!!2 questions. First, is the d4 external charger alright to use with these batteries? Thinking yes, but trying to look it up and most people saying it should be alright but no definite, and can't be 100% myself knowing that the batteries have there own specific dimension. Second question while talking about batteries, while looking for the first questions answer I saw ratchett had posted about making a case for these specific batteries. Any update on that? Also love the spiral GH holder on your page, great work, thing looks awesome

Actually I've been making really good progress on a battery case design. I'd already have released it, but the material I'm using for the cases has been a huge PITA to work with. Unfortunately I've been too busy printing new orders to tinker around too much with new materials. Guess it's time to buy another 3D printer!I saw ratchett had posted about making a case for these specific batteries. Any update on that?
Man, a custom made US Army Or St Louis Cardinal or Arizona Cardinal stand would be dope.... hint hintDamn you guys are fast! Hahah
I'm happy to announce that my Loading Funnel and Mini Spiral Loading Stand are finished and now available for sale on my store!
(I'm also releasing a Lotus version of this stand in the next few days)

What is pass-through charging? I was told the Arizer Air had it, but then was told you had to wait about half an hour if the battery was flat. How can this be?
Sorry, it looks like I might be mistaken here. I wasn't referring to "pass-through charging" at all, but rather a "pass-through" power adapter with no charging involved. It seems I may have gotten mixed up by the terminology! With that aside, it remains the case that using while charging is something to avoid if you want to maximize the lifetime of your batteries.wouldn't that, (by your definition), be dubbed "bypass charging" then? "Pass through" charging, in my mind, means the battery is very much in the equation, as it is passing power through itself whilst being charged.
And only the older model Solos at that. It required a separate power adapter that supplied a lower voltage and higher amperage than the charging cable, which was capable of powering the heater directly from mains with charging applied to the battery. All Solos made in the past two years or so don't work with that power adapter capable, and instead are now capable of use-while-charging which the old ones couldn't do.You could do that on the solo but not the air
No worries, I was just trying to clear up some confusion but it looks like I might have just caused more of it.Sorry for my poor choice of words.
I've heard before that Solos will functional a little differently if there's no battery inside (or if the battery is so dead that the Solo thinks one isn't there). But new Solos won't really function with the low-voltage high-amperage power adapter (they'll attempt to charge, and then kind of top out below full charge to my knowledge). So, you won't be able to spare a healthy battery from wear without first opening up the Solo and removing the batteries (which isn't simple like with the Air, for those who don't have a Solo). Are you sure about the Solo? Mine's 2-3 years old, and will operate with a dead battery when plugged in with the normal charger.
