When did you pull the trigger @Vape Dr.? I take it an unboxing followed by a full review video will commence soon after your hopper lands?

@skyvaper I've been waiting on one for a while. I am super excited to get my GH but want to make sure they have all the bugs fixed. I will have an unboxing and initial impression review the day I get mine!

Is this all in the mouthpiece?
Can't you soak it in ISO to re-claim it?
If the Grasshopper has no wires, you would think you would be able to take the back end off, take the battery out and soak the whole unit as long as you let it dry out completely.

I say this because a lot of my concentrate devices I just throw in a bowl of ISO to get the re-claim. No batteries, mostly coils and such but I would think it would be the same.

Has anyone asked or contacted GH about this if this is an issue?

Just my :2c: guys. I am still anxiously awaiting my grasshopper!:)

TIA!

You can soak the mouthpiece, but nothing on the manual covers soaking the backend. I wouldn't though, also seems like I wouldn't need to. So far I haven't needed to brush the inside chamber, only the mouthpiece chamber. I have yet to reclaim any honey oil from vapes, but so far the Grasshopper is much cleaner and lower maintenance than the Flowermate V5.0s. Little needle sized worms created from Monday through Thursday. Looking inside my mouthpiece right now I can see small clumps layered. Over time I wonder if it would seep out or get to the point of clogging (it would take a really long time for that to happen). Nothing in the chamber has gotten dirty.

So you can basically toss the front into ISO to clean it but dot' expect get much reclaim...

I guess this just helps the GH to perform most efficiently with the amount of power its putting through the chamber so quickly.

Would you say clean it every 5 or 6 chambers to maximize its efficiency?

I really appreciate the info. I want to know as much as I can about the GH before I receive it.

Thank you very much @Averyminya

I haven't put mine in ISO save the first 5 minutes after opening. I don't think it needs it much unless you feel it affects taste - which I have yet to notice. Occasionally I will take a reamer (or paperclip, whatever small is available) and poke around the herbal chamber to make sure there is no cooked herb hiding, but there never is. However the mouthpiece is prone to minor gunk, particularly with the way I like to fill the chamber. With the mouthpiece, there is maybe 2 cm between the screen and the threading. That gets mucky, but very very easy to clean. It's also sometimes sticky, so it still has some potency.

In terms of efficiency and the power of this thing in general... 1 battery is about 2-3 chambers (I'm going to test this a lot more because I've been lazy about documenting that thus far) of temp stepping from 2-5. I used it from 2:30 to 9 today without charging. I put it on the charger and continued using it at 4. After 2 long hits it got the low battery sign on the charger. Waited 30 minutes and used it at 5 four times no problem. I am going to start filming a review video this weekend so post or message me anything you're interested in, I'll be covering quite a bit but could always add more content :)

Edit: I just thought it was worth noting that at 9:25 I put it on the charger where it when to low battery in use, it just hit blue at 10:15.

That honey oil is gold, you'd be foolish to waste it.
Liquid Gold / Texas Tea AMEN Brother.... I LOVE IT..!!! It is so pure and clean...Oh and lets not forget to mention it is quite potent as well..... and YES tasting it raw say on your lips is a bit messing and nasty to taste that way..... but put back inside your vaporizer it tastes very yummy and unique...but for sure GOOD.... I would of course recommend making a sandwich as most all of us do... to avoid melting seepage from making its way backwards towards the heater..... I personally make tiny little hot dogs that I also roll in fresh flower... then I load a base of herb then the hot dog that is now got a bunch of fresh herb stuck all around it.....

I LOVE the stuff so much and think it is SO worth gathering and collecting that I would not even be using the manufacturer mouthpiece..... and YES I know this would take away from the stealth factor several times over but that is JUST how much value I have put on the "gold honey"..... I would remove the supplied mouthpiece and replace it with a glass tube about 3" - 4" just like what I use and reclaim from regularly in my Inhalaters..... I am spoiled now and simply feel it is the only way to roll.....

I have collected quite a bit of the stuff.... cleanest honey butter on the planet IMO.....

I've put about 20 loads through my loaner GH and haven't had to clean anything yet. Little bit of oil on the mouthpiece, but nothing major yet. The oven itself has needed no cleaning. Maybe a small brush or pipe cleaner to knock the dust out from time to time, but I see this as a very low maintenance vape so far.

Battery life with a single battery seems more than sufficient for my needs - I can easily finish one or two loads before I toss it back on the charger (since I'd rather not completely drain the battery).

Finalizing 3 new inventions for the Grasshopper this weekend, can't wait to announce them! :ninja:

It makes sense that honey oil builds up quickly because the hole it's coming out of is so small. It also would make sense that it is the focal point of the honey oil build up because of the tapered design of the mouthpiece. I suggest buying some cotton if you don't already have some for vaping. Pretty easy to swab it out when it's still warm with a toothpick or tiny bamboo stick and a little piece of cotton on the end.

The thing that disgusts me about honey oil is that it's a magnet for dust or other unwanted particles. It disgusts me because in my mind it ruins it. Lint and other things you don't want to be vaping get stuck in it. So I can see how this could be something you have to maintain if you're like me. I've already decided I can't just put the GH in my pocket without protection from lint.

I actually don't mind the taste of AVB or honey oil so maybe I'm the weirdo.

So if folks are getting little bits in their mouth its more likely reclaim that has accumulated in the tip between the tip and screen than actual bud pulling through the screen although with an extremely fine grind or bottom of the can dust that can happen.

In my experience there is never really enough reclaim to bother keeping it for a dab later. I clean the tip with a paper clip whenever I remember to do it which is definitely not everyday and its always just a tiny amount. The better reason to clean it is because the reclaim is like a pocket lint magnet. In fact usually what happens is I noticed its clogged, see a big piece of lint, pull it out with a paper clip and its comes out right along with the reclaim it was attached to.

As for deep cleaning (dropping the tip in iso and swabbing the chamber with iso) again I do it almost never. I would say maybe once a week and its really not "necessary" at the time. More likely I was cleaning things anyway so I clean it.

Forget low maintenance, this vape borders on no maintenance!

I cleaned mine for the first time last night after owning it for 3 weeks. Used an alcohol wipe from one of the little packets and a pair of narrow hemostats. I cleaned the front end first since the pads are soaked and it barely turned brown so used the same pad turned inside out for the back end and got very little gunk.
That is doing three 4 draw sessions a day. Very low maintenance and so far no bits coming through the screen and some used was pretty dry and powdery.

The oil I'm referring to collects on the outside of the mouthpiece, between the silicone condom and the metal. If I let it go a day or two there is quite a buildup, enough to hold the condom on when it's cold and make it slip around on the tip when it's hot.

There is also a small bit of buildup in the hole, but it's minor as mentioned.

@Vape Dr. you could ISO soak the mouthpiece to clean it, I prefer ethanol if I'm keeping the reclaim. ISO scares me a bit.

Noticed that in videos, oil on the inside of the session extender. I guess bc the silicone leaves a gap between it and the mouthpiece? Would've thought it would fit snug, but I guess it makes it so you need to clean your mouthpiece sooner, and you need to clean it as well.
Simple soak though

I don't use the session extender at all - haven't had any need for it. I feel like part of the trick is clicking off the vape and draining all heat from the oven before finishing your draw (very noticeable with this vape).

With a 14mm bubbler (18mm-wise I've got your old ff SonG!) is the only time I'd really use it, though sometimes for group use it may be necessary. I would always click off im sure, easy technique like with ff elevape and t1, always draw a but after the heat is off for full efficiency. Sometimes in a group though, especially at first, some people fail at this lol

My session extender is quickly filled with abv particles, this device needs a real screen so bad. Every session I have to deal with particles on my tongue.

How long are your hits @Ratchett
I'm fine with any particles that make it past my screen (i'm not finely grinding), but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make some sort of basket screen to fit inside the oven side...

My hits are on the shorter side, though I do get some decent clouds. I think I need to pull a bit harder, the ABV near the mouthpiece seems a bit unvaped

The resin on the mouthpiece reminds me of the Pinnacle Pro. If the resin stays on the grasshopper's mouthpiece would it get hot enough to sizzle the resin and allow for cracking of materials the hopper is made of?

I had such a costly problem with the Pinnacle Pro, this is something I'm always watching for. At least this company stands behind their product so far.

EDIT
With VB I was out 3 Pinnacle Pros because of bad materials. All three cracked at the base where the mouthpiece attaches. I was told the warranty didn't apply even though it had been within a year. I had to move on but it's still a sore spot for me (I'm still pissed).

I edited my post but how many hits do you take within 3 minutes my concern is that you claim the extender unneeded. I take a 6 to 10 second drag and click off my Hopper followed by 10 more seconds of inhaling. Hold for 2 to 5 seconds and take another hit. That is native and with herb.

Just a couple hours ago I got back from seeing the Martian with 4 of my friends...I'd say the hardest part to be stealthy is the loudish click and that can be solved by a loud scene.
What do you think about the "accustic-stealh-mode" of the GH? If I push the button of my GH just to right before it clicks, it heats up and you can vape. Release the finger and it stops. Is it a bug or a feature? Is it ok for regular use?
I'd like to hear from other Grasshopper owners to see if this works on all units. In my opinion it sounds like a great feature, and not just for stealth. It would make it much easier to turn it off mid hit if using that technique to keep the mouthpiece cool.

If it works well I could see myself making that my primary mode of operation.

The unit would like to be fully pressed. The lights still come on but sometimes the unit may go flashing red it you don't fully click it.

True, I'd say I average 2 to 3 hits per 3 minutes. I really don't take massive rips back to back off the vape. Instead I click on, puff, click off, and enjoy the company of my friends or the television until I'm ready for another puff

The one or two times I've paired the vape with water, it got WAY too hot for my comfort.

Yes, of course if I share this vape with friends, there's no way I could use it without a session extender. After 3 puffs within 2 minutes, the metal is fucking HOT to your lips

(Yeah, I heard people say the mouthpiece would get hot - I was like "bullshit - it won't get THAT hot"- seriously people the mouthpiece will burn your lips if you try to take multiple puffs within a few minutes without the silicone "session extender" )

I really hope this isn't the case with mine when I get it because I am really sensitive about getting particles in my mouth. Makes me gag every time.

I've got three units it's the case, I suggest a screen or cotton if its that bad but honestly it's not, otherwise just end off with an unground nug.

Its just noticeable since every other vape I use have a screen.

I still haven't had any issues with particles and my last order was very dry herb, so it's been powder for the last day. The only thing I'm getting is some buildup under the threading of the mouthpiece. No scooby-snacks for me.
