Discontinued Zion vaporizer

OK, I've run outta reasons to buy an Hebalaire. Thanks for saving me a bunch of money.

As long as one's need doesn't include stealth I am running out of good reason to buy anything but a Zion. RBT, get ready, there is gonna be a crowd on the way the minute folks start getting their Zions and talking about it. You are gonna be glad for your efforts to streamline production... :)

Then you can return to work on wiping out that disclaimer "As long as one's need doesn't include stealth"...

Well now that I spent last Saturday with @DieHard putting Loki through the gauntlet.
My Zion fever has grown ten fold. sitting there holding Loki flipping off the battery cover. trying to envision what the production model will look like, man I can't wait at least I can always sneak off and go down play with Loki while I'm waiting for mine to be delivered.
This!! An afternoon with a Zion creates another Zionite. A very repeatable circumstance I am sure. The future is coming... :)

 Yo yo!

Good people! I feel compelled to tell you about the current stretch of my journey on the road to Zion.

Obviously, Johnny is still blowing it up! And although I really love using my other vapes (fire vapes are currently taking leading roles alongside our hero), the level of extraction that I can effortlessly achieve with the Zion has me hook, line & sinker!

**WARNING** from my experience, I would say that it is quite possible that regular Zionization will lead to increased tolerance which may not be fully satisfied by some other vaporizers. IMO!

I LOVE my other quick fire vapes, but Zion is where I end my session pretty much everytime.

Zion feels like a medical device to me. I find the ease of extraction therapeutic in itself. And the results for me are somehow fuller than I realised at first.

As always with exceptional vaporizers, for me at least, I create some sort of an emotional link with them, I find that I bond with my vape & we have a relationship (no, not like that!), and so figuratively speaking, the Zion is looking like marriage material (again, no, not like that)!

It's an organic experience.

True story.

Erm . . . . not sure what I'm doing here really. I'll go now.

Zion - 3
VnV - 0

Love you guys!

@Likes2vape the Zion/TOD are real close to the lsv in many ways. The loads in the 18mm stems and the open air paths the high heat. It's a much more convenient portable lsv IMO. And the the TOD is like a warmed up lsv cranked to full max heat. And even then it can't compare to the out put of TOD. TOD is a mother fucking beast. Sorry for the language I just have no idea how else to describe it.
The Zion can mimmick the TODs high end output it's just a little more work to get her there. Of course every ones experience will vary a small bit.

I love the open air path of the LSV, great to know the Zion is like that.

Holly hell on the TOD!!!!! I've only used the LSV fully warmed up/turned all the way up twice and combusted the 1st time. I would not recommend it dry that's for damn sure!

I can't wait to rip em up!!!

I wasn't able to justify buying a Zion before the price increase but now even less so. I don't typically vape on the go anymore and when I do I'm usually camping or something so recharging batteries isn't likely to happen. But I'm wondering what the chances are of a pure desktop-style vape in the Zion family. I know they've mentioned an additional accessory to make the Zion plug in, but that added cost and complexity doesn't appeal to me.

Basically I'm just throwing it out there that if RBT made a simple plug in model I'd buy it in a heartbeat, because dealing with batteries and chargers just isn't for me right now.

There are lots of good plugin vapes out there that do a good job. The EVO the HA and various logs like the Nano and the Underdog seem to be the favorites. I have an HA and I like it very much for what it is. Personally I can't imagine creating another competitor in that space but the ones that exist make a lot of folks happy.
While it's not impossible that RBT might try, I think at this time at least he is going the other direction trying to get smaller and more portable and more stealthy. I think that's a better idea for now, and the alphas we have seen are already looking very very good.

I consider Zion a desktop portable. It's too big to be stealth but it is easy to carry around and sits very nicely on various styles of glass. I use mine mostly at home, but as you will see if you look through the thread others like to take it about. Look for @VegNVapes posts.
I have never used 18650s before, but with a good charger they are not much hassle and I have a set in the vape and one in the charger or ready all the time. I have rarely used up a set in one day, but I don't use it all day long, just the last 8 hours usually. Having a second set ready should cover most any use pattern. It really is great having the power of a good plugin with out the damn cord.

I think Zion beats the pants off most vapes out there at a significantly better price than many and is more than worthy of your hard earned, but I have a crush on Venus that I've had since I first fired her up so my perspective has a bias. I have barely hit another vape since I got her, and I have a couple others I really like. :)

So, you have to make up your own mind, but if I didn't have a Zion I would be gettin in line for sure.

Question for the beta team and any glass experts out there.

I was thinking of maybe putting an elb into the male joint of a bubbler, and the Zion on top. Do you think it would work in that configuration? (There's some really nice bubblers with male joints)

Which leads me to my second question, do the male joints on bubblers vary between the 18mm US and the other 18mm?

TIA

Most of the male jointed rigs I have seen use 14mm males.

Hey there.

Yeah, there's definitely both out there. Some have US joint size, other ones ISO...
You must be an early int. pre-order then. Grats! :)

Ive already got the US M2M's btw, 18 to 18 and 18 to 14. Was just wondering if it would work. (type of shit i think about when im high! lolz)

Oops, I meant Herbalizer here, not Herbalaire. The HA is reasonably priced so still has value in my eyes, but it really can't keep up with my Zion. As regards the HerbalIZER, everything I read says it's a great vape (haven't tried one). It's the $700 that's the problem. For me PERSONALLY, I could never rationalize spending that on a vape.

I could get almost 3 Zions at full price for that, or certainly 2 and enough goods to keep me happy a long while...

Greetings Zionites! In anticipation of getting my Zion I am thinking about other ways to make the whole experience easier. I was looking at @Ratchett 's store and thinking about getting one of the organizer's. But then I thought an even better organizer would be one customized to the Zion. This got me thinking about what I would want room for in a Zion organizer. The things I have come up with so far are:

The Zion
18650 Batteries
Extra stems
18/18 M2M
18/14 M2M
Jyarz or two (Maybe only on a larger size)

Since this is a great place for ideas, I thought the Zion thread would be a perfect place to pose the question of what other features would you want in a Zion organizer?

@fonzerelli Yeah I did notice the USB which was the reason for asking. Thankyou. So what does the nitecore power supply throw out in Amps any idea?

Doesn't the charging time depend on how and at what voltage you charge them at?

What are the different amp charge rates on the Nitecore?

Sorry for all the questions, I know bugger all about batteries :)

I use an extremely nice safety glasses case as my current travel kit. It's a hard case and it's big enough to hold my allin1e, a plastic mentos gum container for my leftovers and my iolite. The best part is that it does a great job containing that certain smell. Once I get my Zion, I will have to reevaluate my travel kit. Maybe that will stay as my iolite case.

The allin1e is airtight so I don't really need to worry about that.

Other than that, I have a nice set of tools for my vaporizers. The stir tool from my iolite, brush from my Firefly, dental pick set and a few containers for differing quality leftovers. I also always have a bottle of alcohol and q-tips for cleaning everything. I also have a wood screw with a lanyard to act as a squeegee/scraper for my EQ tubes.

As far as a home kit for the Zion, I would use my standard set of tools since I already have stuff for cleaning glass. I ordered the four pack of batteries and the i2 charger along with my Zion. I plan on running to the head shop with the Zion stem and looking for convenient attachments. I'm also hoping Arizer has compatible parts for the Zion.

@fluffhead take a look at http://www.jojowoodworks.com. @Bongologist has put together a nice stand with storage. It would be worth asking for a custom design and keep the organic feel to your new Zion. Just my opinion.
@delloy I was put off by the USB it spoiled a nice charger. I have a D2 and it charges at 0.5a per cell. It was discussed earlier about the outputs but have no idea where. Charge time is all governed by battery size in mah and charger output again in mah. So my 3000mah take 6 hours to charge. The D2 and 4 both come with 12v car adapters. I think the consensus is that half an amp is the safe level of charge. They take their time as it's not good to force the power in. No need to apologize the more you ask the more you will understand that these things aren't like your Nicad or Nimh. They need to be cossetted rather than abused.

@phattpiggie Thanks for the info. Not sure why USB spoils a nice charger though care to elaborate :)

As I thought, thankyou for everyones feedback but it seems the Xtar after research will not take any longer to charge. (or am I wrong....clueless)
Its charging rate is 0.1 - 1.0 amp as I understand it, basically the same or very similiar as the Nitecore. You can use the Xtar with any iPad/cellphone etc wall adaptor rated 5v 2.1A, so whats the advantage with mains power?

EQ stuff works fine with Zion, tried my buddy's right angle EQ elbow in the Zion for whip bubbler connection. Worked fine, I think Arizer joints may even be US standard

with the nitecore one and two batts charge at 750ma and 3 or more change it to 375 ma.

Actually having the option to plug it into a 2.1/ 1.0 A iPad usb power adapter makes it a nice charger... When it's reliable and safe.
@phattpiggie What I learned about our 18650 cells, it's not the type that needs to be charged with lower mah - it does not "harm" the cell when charging at max a. Think it was our very own OF who told us.
