Okay Got my unit today, Nothing aesthetically that I have noticed wrong with the unit (and it seems to run a bit cooler in this short test), however the quartz cups fit a bit looser and the top hinge is a bit looser than the previous unit. Upon opening the unit I decided to test for any foreign vapors right off the bat and did notice some as well as when i first turned the unit on my nose began to become stuffy which may have been due to dust, (since I have dust allergies) I am trying to figure out where these vapors are coming from. Could it be dust from the unit? I don't likely think it was condensation as I did not blow into the unit long enough to form much if any condensation. But after a while I didn't seem to notice the vapors, it is like they come and go. I'm a bit confused. For now the battery is charging and I have not officially used any herbs in the unit as of yet.

You can forward the video to 1:30 to see the first vapors I noticed. This was at the temp 290F afterwards I tested at 350F. Any ideas? the only thing in the unit was the new quartz cup.

Note: The technique I'm using to blow into the air vent is a very light steady blow.
This was also the first time the unit was powered on.

Bubba I know. I was the first to let Dan know there was even a problem. He DM me to call him on IG because I was the first he saw posting pics of it. That's when I sent him pics of the combusted herb. I had a new one in my hands in less than 18 hrs and the same thing. His customer service is the best I have ever seen by any company (even outside of the vape world). I got tired of waiting. Point blank. Then I see a new vape (Prima) that (for the exact same price) seemed more like I am wanting and expecting in a $260 vape. I have stated I will get the miVape once I see it is perfected. For $260 I want a sturdy, easy to use, great taste that is still portable roughly. The miVape isn't that sturdy for it's price. When someone has a rubber case or improve the body so it isn't as flimsy or feel like to need "kid gloves" to use it; I will buy it again.
No problem man to each their own...no issue with charring after the tweaked internals... sounds like your concerns are more towards the materials of the body so this is clearly not the vape for you...

I agree the plastic does feel kind of cheap, but i would much rather have this over a redesigned version using metal or some type of heavier material that would not only add weight to the unit but also decrease the amount of time you could
Comfortably hold the unit and increase the amount of time needed for cooling down before you could comfortable hold it...

Enjoy your prisma man

Id be more concerned with a mystery vapor if it was coming from the unit by itself... Ive had that issue with vaporizers in the past theres just no way to tell for sure if your mystery vapor is from the unit or from your breath...

On a side note i noticed my unit was dusty when i opened it...

So what do you think this "mystery vapor is, i know how i can tell that it isn't my breath I will use a bicycle pump. If in fact it still occurs would you inhale it? or assume it is safe?

I think if your blowing any type of air through a heated unit you will end up seeing some type of visible vapor in a dark room with enough light

Hot air in a cooler environment can do that I believe...
Well I'm doing some testing with the unit clean, still haven't used any herbs in it yet but the more testing I Do I'm feeling happy that I'm not seeing anymore vapors and it has been about 10 mins now on 350. From this experience I can recommend doing a "burn off" when the unit is new. I will be testing herbs ina bit...if I don't see any more "mystery vapors"

*Update*

* I have done some herb testing and here is what I got first run. Temps tested were 350F and 325F.

Mouthpiece cracked when inserting spare glass cup as the cup is too big for the grooves.

As far as the mystery vapors go, I thought it may have been due to dust at first, then I didn't see them so I assumed they were gone. I decided to try some herbs and vaporized 1 quartz cup, and let one cup sit for 6 mins. After that I waiting for a bit and then turned the unit to 340F and did the mystery vapor test again I saw heavy vapors come from the mouth piece, afterwards I thought it may have been the screen that was dirty so I attempted to switch screens and repeat the test. at some points there were no vapors and at other times there were heavy vapors that I could inhale and exhale back out (altho there was a brand new unused quartz cup and brand new screen in the mouthpiece. The mystery vapor continues to illude me, more testing should eventually reveal the issue.

**Update #2 on mystery vapor (some notes and findings)**
1. If used short periods of time 3-8 mins, at 340F with new quartz cup the unit does not yet seem to emit any external vapors.

2.When the "mystery vapors" do occur the unit becomes very hot to the touch. Vapors can be seen at this point being emitted from exhaled breath after drawing from the unit as normal as well as blowing small puffs of air into the intake vent.

(me thinks the unit upon being tested in this way (blowing through the intake vent) may cause the unit to become too hot altho this is just speculation at this point.)

currently I can't suggest to test the unit in this way for over 8 mins due to the speculations mentioned above.

*DAN THE MAN after seeing this post is sending me new set of cups and mouthpiece THANKS! A+++ Customer Service!*

Being a newbie... I tried it at the default setting of 355f... From what I am reading I shouldn't be surprised it was a tad harsh...but effective! I charged it for about 3 1/2 hours and it was still flashing 80% charged. When I unplugged it the reading was 100% charged. Thought that was a little odd but overall good experience.

I've noticed when charging the miVape, keep it upright and it may have a more accurate reading because every time I charge the unit on it's side it gets stuck on 80-90% but when I pick the unit upright it usually says full so if your unit has been stuck on 80-90%, pick the unit up and have it stand upright and that may show its fully charged..........

I Think it may have something to do with the USB cord. I noticed something with the charging as well but was hard to replicate. At least it looks nice...

Thanks Justin... I will try that! I was charging on its side. Hopefully it isn't faulty.

@Archaicrevival If that was just sitting and the herb got toasted there must be a whole lot on conduction going on in the unit. Just sitting on any pure convection vape should not change the consistency of the material.

I've left ELBs in my EVO for much longer than that and the herb is still green.

Would you compare the mivape to the crafty/mighty/firefly? All 3 of these vapes have a lot of conduction going on inside.

I was hoping the mivape would be a pure convection vape.....:hmm:

@Just Justin Thanks for the info about charging it on its side. This is unsettling, it should not make a difference if the unit is up right, side ways, or upside down when simply charging.

Ok I'll come right out and say it..
Why does the mivapes temp not mirror the correct temp of the unit? At 350 on any other vape in the world youll get great flavor, visable vapor is almost non- existent and dammed if the weed still aint green after 10 min. With the mivape 350 for six minutes seems like 430 on the ascent, cook...cook...cook!! ;)

@ShayWhiteGrow I'm assuming it depends on moisture content, draw speed, draw strength but I agree with you 100% temperatures should be as accurate as possible, to me that's kind of crucial.

I start at 340F on the mighty and get great taste and vapor. The 2 being somewhat similar should have similar results at around the same temperature, give or take a few degrees.

What good is an LCD display with temperature readings if they don't mean anything.
I expect this from flowermate, not vaporfection....

thanks @Vape Dr. I appreciate not being the only one who feels like this. At the $260 price point i feel i need a little more accuracy which is why as soon as this lands on my step tomorrow I'll be bouncing it back to vapornation for a vapeswap. There is another vape that was just released that others say has great " build quality" which is second to taste on my list! ( which it has too from early reviews;) )

I'm with you my friend. I am a taste snob and would like to have accurate temperatures so I can enjoy the strain I purchase at the temps I choose.
I think the mivape has great promise but it still needs more R&D.

Not to go off topic, but are you talking about the Prima, or did you come across another convection vape?

Do tell my friend....:sherlock:

I just tried to vape 2 cups of green and on 350F it browned and blackened a bit (altho the blackening didn't seem to happen on 335), but even though there was no vapor I got nicely medicated. Perhaps the vape is so efficient when being operated properly there isnt any visible vapors?

If I'm not mistaking, you don't see the vapor, but rather condensation/aerosol. Correct?

Not sure, I was just using the inhaler as an example, but the more I use the Mivape I mean im not sure what to think it does have a harsh kind of draw since it makes me cough so much but at the same time there isn't much visible vapor, I just wonder if it is working properly. What would you do keep it or return it?

I think if dan thickened the quartz cups he would have a winner. Plus if you use the inh or similar mesh screen it wont get as hot as with the thick ass metal screen included imo.:)
