The Delrin adapters were made by Mestizo (I hope I got that right...I didn't look it up) and the ones that wrapped over the edge of the lid were my favorite...even though it was one of those that was too tight that stripped my threads. The one in your picture that I had was too loose and would fall off if a mouthpiece was put on it. We almost had Mestizo making those for us all, but like often happens. things changed and he was not going to be able to meet demand. It was never his intent, either, as he only made a few for fun. Turns out those are very expensive to make and I couldn't find a viable alternative.

I turned to Ed for help and he came up with the current design, before it was revealed to me that the nipple on the mouthpiece is a known weak spot. I was trying to avoid stress on the threads the whole time. So the current solution will work if it is kept on, but as @Mulehead has shown us, there are plenty of ways to skin this cat. If we can come up with a better solution that is affordable, I would be tickled pink to make it happen.

I just jumped on board ataxian, mine should be here tomorrow.

What are yalls favorite glass pairings with the MV?
I think I am going to want something a bit larger with a wider base than my SB Travel Bubbler, but still like minimal diffusion and a smallish can, but with a larger base to handle the weight of the vape. I tend to prefer bubblers with removable down stems and removable mouthpieces (for cleaning and ease of transportation).

When I do choose glass with the MV it's with an AEON Glass bubbler with the 18mm Dewar joint. Not a high volume bubbler. Perfect for the MV.

I experienced some weird behavior of my TC last weekend and wanted to ask if somebody already had the same problems, if I it even needs a warranty repair (I prefer not to send my unit away again) or if some minor software problems are normal. I would appreciate any input!

First of all, when turning on the MV the front light staid solid until I did a reset. No blinking indicated a heating process.

Then it was heating up but the front light did not stop blinking over 20 minutes or more. 2nd reset and everything was normal, but I had the never ending heating cycle again yesterday. Even a hard reset didn't help this time.

Weird battery indicator, changes from red to yellow and back again several times (could be normal during the heating process).

The Single front led lights up white when pressing the temp down button when the unit is powered off.

Finally I just wanted to share some informations I received from Hermes (btw communication is much better):

Using while charging at the same time is safe! The humming sound is normal, it may get more noticeable while using when charging at the same time.
Heat up time from cold to red should be around 8-9 minutes.
Flexicones may loose their seal over time. I posted once about increasing the sealing.
They are working on a Cooling Unit and an improved battery indicator!

Almost there...
@ataxian I do have a MV and it is by far my best vape!
Flavor is amazing all the time, maintenance is almost non existent, use of baskets keeps the insides like new for a long time!
I like the fact that this vape is an excellent sipper or a big hitter!!
This is the only vape i have that i have NEVER thought of selling, all my other vapes are expendable to a degree...

I have finally found a way to use the MV that i really like!!!
It Does require some modifications to the lid though...
I have been on a mission to adapt the MV to my liking and have been using this mod for about a month.

I took a glass bag stem from the EQ Kit, similar to the one in the link but mine has three rings around it.
http://arizer.com/store/en/arizer-extreme-q-parts-accessories/28-glass-mouthpiece.html

Measure the OD and drill out the MV cap for a press fit.
I also added a tiny cable tie to add extra pressure to keep the stem in place.
My lid has been cracked since the day i received my MV, no big deal it is just a hairline crack and i wanted to buy a replacement in the future.

Then i found another piece of boro glass to be the extension, since the EQ glass stem is only 2" long.
All held together by some Herbie whip tubing!

What i also did was to push the glass tube as bit further into the lid so as to get a better seal between the Flexicone and the top of the heater chamber.

After a couple years, my trusty miniVAP began the slow journey to e-hell, stranger light behavior, shut off after 2 minutes w/o use, sometimes never shut off at all, and I wondered if the temps were a-droppin' ???
ABV got way too light etc.
Now that we have mV USA/ stickstones, I sent her in for a checkup and her heater and firmware were lacking.
Stickstones did his magic and she seems like the vape I first knew. In fact, the first couple of trials got me way more vaped than I expected---I forgot how the mV really kicks it.

Nice work sticks. In the mV absence I got to know Herbie better and it's an awesome piece too, especially using the miniVAP Flexicone basket modules in it. I love 'em, they're the best thing since sliced bread...:)

mV back home and turbocharged

Interesting Bob

Think I need to do some more testing with mine.

I have not used mine much lately, so need to reintroduce myself
Mainly been using canna/coconut oil to medicate.

When I have used it, I have used it through a water tool.
Minivap sits upside down on top of the basket basically.

I can get a good pull through it but never seem to fill my lounges or produce clouds.
The AVB is never very brown either.

I am wondering if it is getting hot enough even when I am on red.
Unfortunately we (from Europe) don't have a stick stones

Tech,
Mine just faded away on performance but stickstones got it back to full juice.

It can be tough to judge as my experience has been the miniVAP ABV tends to be lighter than from many vapes--even though the extraction seems more complete.
It sucks about Europe location as that SHOULD get you better service/direct from Hermes :(
Hopefully the European service will get better.

Mine really kicks butt now. However, I'm probably doing somewhat bigger loads AND have a new "vape station" with a light right there which shows vapor I probably never saw before. It seems like I'm getting stronger hits on blurple after the fix, compared to on red before the repair....

What settled it for me was taking miniVAP ABV from red temp (and hit hard on red) and vaping it thru the Herbie at 400 F. There was a lot left in it.

Where in Europe are you? I visited Amsterdam in May of 2014 and hope to return in May 2016 :)

But I like it!
@MinnBobber Thats exactly how mine failed a few weeks after arrival. I was sucking like mad on red and barely any change from a fresh load. When it came back with the upgrades I can leave it on blue and get great extraction...

Right now I'm still debating how to overcome the whole 'nipple' thing on the lid to continue using the wood adapter... drill out and go glass? JBweld something else in place of the nipple? JBweld some glass on there? Whatever it gets it needs to be somewhat rugged for trips in the wilderness...

@killick , yes I never used blue before but now blue temp actually does produce vapor :)

Do you have Ed's wooden adapter?

But I like it!
I've got the adapter, and after several weeks of working like a champ it got jostled in a jacket pocket, and when I removed it I noticed the wee ring around the lid outlet had partially pulled away. It was, however, pretty firmly attached by a whole pile of reclaim, about 1/2 a spoonful, which is simply delightful on it's own ;)

That looks great.

I am going to contact Hermes after I have had a go tonight.
From the UK Bob.

Is there anyway I can see what temps this is reaching, I have a laser gun for reading temps.

Those laser guns work great/best on flat, black, solid, non-shiney surfaces like a flat black painted engine exhaust.
On a curvy white chamber wall or mesh shiney stainless steel basket---WAY off/ WAY low. Laser gun might only be useful to compare a known proper unit to a ?? unit.

I have always used the "finger method" of taking big pulls and then quickly unscrew the cover and feel the basket.
Before fix I thought mV was getting really hot BUT after its return----it's much hotter now.
The trouble is, that's just subjective. But if you do a series of big steady pulls on red and you quickly pinch the basket, it should be too hot to hold.

Any friends with a mV to compare head to head?
I hope you can assess whether it needs to go back to "mother Hermes"......

Funnily enough I don't get hardly any vapour out of this, comparing to the videos on YouTube
.....................................................................
Compared to youtube, neither do I get that amount of vapor.
As I discovered with my new vape area/ light right there---blowing it thru direct light makes vapor
5X - 10X normal look. :)

Do they still sell these even?
I tried to buy one last year from vapor nation and they kept saying they'd let me know when one was in stock, but never let me know!
i even called them and emailed them a bunch.
i remembered all of a sudden about this vape, and how ive never got to try it...

Is there somewhere else to buy it? i don't want to try and work with vapor nation again!
