Wish i could give good news.... Just got my replacement and it came with the Quartz in the unit (where the mouthpiece and loaded cup sit into) came cracked, and wont power on!!!!

Aethetics wise:
Battery still doesnt come out, batterybdoor hinge is exactly the same, door doesnt sit flush... The top hinge for the mouthpiece is better though

Wow, sorry to hear that, I realized I still have 1 day left to wait, mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. You have to charge the battery for 3 hours before first use. Have you tried this?

Battery wont charge unfortunately. Screen flashes between charging and standby.

Have not had time to go home and try my original battery, however the quartz in the unit where the dish would sit is cracked so its a moot point regardless

I'll be getting my replacement unit tomorrow my main concern was the foreign vapors as long as that isn't a problem with my replacement I'll be happy. And just so long as the herbs don't burn. I can't wait until tomorrow to test the unit.

I did not have any foreign vapors with my first unit, only issue was running too hot and resulting charring/burning of herbs...
Wish you better results with your replacement... Hopefully ill have a working one in a quicker amount of time it took to get this faulty replacement

Testing for the foreign vapors takes a cellphone light and darkness, you have to get the light at the right angel and blow air through the bottom intake vent for about 1-2 mins

I know, ive done this test with pretty much every portable ive gotten since the solo...no cell phone just a desk lamp though... No foreign vapors from my og mivape...

UPDATE: not sure what i did, but i guess unplugging and plugging it in all day fixed whatever issue was going on with the charger started charging in my car on the way home so the new mivape is charging as we speak and it actually turns on... The quartz is still cracked inside but i think i can still use the unit while i await its replacement again... Gonna give it a go at least to see if the temps/flavor is any better now

Mine has arrived and charging.. so far so good! I couldn't tell much difference in the battery door either. The hinged top is better and the manual has a few improvements.

Yes the top hinge does feel a lot sturdier... And mouthpiece goes in and out sooo much easier...If you have problems getting the battery out you can try tapping where the usb port is against your hand and it should pop out dont try prying it as you can break the battery... Already did that lol...

So final update: Dan and I concluded it has to be the battery that is the issue... Luckily i still have my OG battery... Put it in and charged immediately... Loaded it up with some herbs and immediately got some amazing tasty vapor and clouds on my first puff set to 320F... Used it for about 10 mins... The bottom the material id say about 1mm or so is a lil darkwr than the top but much more even and much more pleasant experience

Should have word about a replacement for the cracked quartz in the unit in the next couple days... BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE HANDS DOWN...

Yeah, I got mine too and it doesn't seem much different from the first version, looks that is. I expected to see a more dramatic difference in the hinges for one but it definitely looks better and cleaner overall. The top lid and hinge look exactly the same but its much tighter and less flimsy, although I expected that the hinge would be beefier like we were told for strength because that is an area that gets moved a lot and is most likely to break. The battery door and hinge look exactly the the same as well and the sliding button is also the same so it doesn't sit flat like we were told but not really a big deal I guess, don't know why they told us it would be different..... The battery compartment and where the door latches looks much cleaner and they added an extra little bit for the latch to lock to so that's good. Battery still sticks and my mouthpiece is tight like the last one so it's kind of hard to get in and out of the body but I would rather have it that way than too loose. The covers look better IMO with the logo indented instead of protruding out.

I have my unit charged up and I will be giving it a whirl tonight, starting at 340F and I'll let ya'll know how it goes. My review will be up soon too and I've got more photos coming. I've also got some ideas that I'll be trying too with the glass screens etc. to try and get the most even heating possible but even the way the old unit heated, I could get great results and I was happy then with the way it was, I just like to try and improve on my vapes if I can.

I really enjoy the miVape and I missed it, it's super small, I love the feel of the draw stem, loading the quartz cups, using super small amounts of herb with great flavor and great vapor for such a small amount, great battery life with the ability to change the battery as well as getting great results with concentrates at least in the old version. The miVape is one of my go to vapes for new herbs so I can really get a good indication of flavor and effect without having to use a large amount of herb. The miVape is a canna-isseur's vape for people who are obsessed with flavor, purity and small amounts of herb.

I would really suggest testing for foreign vapors using the method I mentioned (dark room with the led flashlight from a cell phone or other source) I got visible vapors at 290 with nothing in the unit on the old unit, but I hope it was just a fluke. They may be hard to see but if you watch the video I posted around 5:26 you can see them.

short review. I just received my replacement. it takes 3 hr. to charge instead of 2, it heats up very fast . I put the temp at 176 f ,it was alittle harsh I dropped it down to 165 f, vapor was smooth. the clouds were okay, the battery latch is much better. the battery sticks, hard to come out so I put alittle w40 on the battery with my finger not on the side where the connections are and it comes out better. look in your booklit where it says clear screen it shows a pick tool that is embedded in the unit. it must be a mistake or its me that can't find it.

What do you mean harsh at 176F was there burning or charring of the material?

UPS hasn't arrived today yet but hopefully soon I will be able to test for myself.

@con2010 the pick is located on the bottom back left corner if your looking at the LCD. Its a little black rounded corner with some ribbing, just slides out at voila a pick.

I vaped a few cups last night. Started at 330F and stopped testing at 350F but I will be going a little higher later to find my temp because 330F-350F was a little light for me although I was getting vapor and no charring or dark bits but the herb on the very top was still a little fresh after 6 minutes. Overall, I had a good experience and I will continue to try different temps and maybe some screens in the bottom of the cup if necessary.

@Archaicrevival when you test for these vapors do you blow directly into the bottom of the unit? If you are blowing into the unit from any direction you may be seeing these foreign vapors from the moisture in your breath that may collect on the glass and then vapes away. Just take your draw stem out of the unit and slowly blow through that real quick and you will probably see some moisture collect on the stem, at least it did on mine. I don't know just a theory but I haven't noticed any foreign vapors or any off taste.

Being a newbie... I tried it at the default setting of 355f... From what I am reading I shouldn't be surprised it was a tad harsh...but effective! I charged it for about 3 1/2 hours and it was still flashing 80% charged. When I unplugged it the reading was 100% charged. Thought that was a little odd but overall good experience.

I thought it may have been moisture as well, but the vapors increased when the temp increased and also one way I tested was leaving the unit on for 3-4 mins and then tried blowing air into the intake vent and still seen vapors,(by leaving the unit alone it should have allowed it to heat up and after heating up blowing into the intake vent should not have formed much moisture.) however that was the malfunctioning unit, today one the new unit arrives I should know more.

Sooooooooo glad I traded in mine for a Prima.
To each there own man, but i have a feeling you might end up regeretting that... Yes my unit came with a cracked chamber and busted battery... Thanks to vaporfections amazing customer service I already had a backup battery laying around which came in handy and even with the broken glass it still works amazingly well... 100% better experience than the orIginal mivape we all got... I get amazing taste out of this for a good 5-6 minutes and pretty decent clouds as well...

Not to mention the fact that Dan spent the entire day chatting with me yesterday helping me work through the issues and (at my request) as soon as Dan gets back tomorrow, he is going to personally pull a new unit for me and test it out so He can assure me I do not receive a Dud again...

Add all that to the fact that any other company would make you pay to send them back your faulty unit and probably wait until you complained instead of sending out a massive recall. Good luck getting even a 10th of that service out of vapir.

Oh no this sounds like the same issue as the V1 mivape with the battery

Bubba I know. I was the first to let Dan know there was even a problem. He DM me to call him on IG because I was the first he saw posting pics of it. That's when I sent him pics of the combusted herb. I had a new one in my hands in less than 18 hrs and the same thing. His customer service is the best I have ever seen by any company (even outside of the vape world). I got tired of waiting. Point blank. Then I see a new vape (Prima) that (for the exact same price) seemed more like I am wanting and expecting in a $260 vape. I have stated I will get the miVape once I see it is perfected. For $260 I want a sturdy, easy to use, great taste that is still portable roughly. The miVape isn't that sturdy for it's price. When someone has a rubber case or improve the body so it isn't as flimsy or feel like to need "kid gloves" to use it; I will buy it again.
