Disabled army war vet in need of relief #pleasehelp

If you're in the States, send me a private message here on the forum or at sales@stickstonesvapes.com
Holler at me today, though, as I am about to leave for a trade show tomorrow and won't be back until Thursday.

If you're in Europe, go straight to Hermes.

My apologies on the website. I'm working on a dedicated page for it.

Alright chaps. Slightly embarrassing situation for me. So I had my MV stop working properly for a while. It just wouldn't heat up fully, and the light would blink for hours. Emailed Hermes (who are very quick to respond these days, always in a few hours). They said sure send it in but try the green setting first. Then it worked! Emailed Hermes back to say all good.

The very next day it went back to not reaching the temp. I was very busy for the last month or so and would try turning it on every so often and it never reached the temp. But I had no time to send it in.

So a few days ago I emailed Hermes to say it's not working and I'm sending it in. After I sent the mail I thought I'd try it one more time and... it works fine. Fully back to normal and has been for the past few days.

Now I'm embarrassed to mail Hermes again and tell them it's fine. They're going to think I'm crazy because it'll be the third time I've said it ain't working only to email after and say it's fine... first world problems!

I've been 6 weeks without using it, the flavour and smell from the first draw was amazing. I did miss it. I prefer the Mighty for ease of use but the vapour quality from the MV cannot be beat.

Anyone had any problem like this? It was strange, I'm glad it's back to normal now though. I'm still thinking of sending it in, but maybe no rush as the warranty is 2 years.

What core do you have? If you have an older core, then sending it in and having the core exchanged for the new ceramic heater would be a good idea. If it is still the old heater then you might ask them to exchange it to the new one, and maybe they are prepared to do that for free. If it is already the new heater then I have no clue.

But, for the price it costs, I think you can demand a machine that does what it needs to do every time you turn it on;)

This is the sign that the core is failed/failing. I had two units that did the same thing.....intermittent heating. It makes you think it's an error on your end when in fact it's not. It needs servicing.

Thanks guys, I'll send it back after all. It was the new heater confirmed by Hermes, I got it in... May I think? They seemed very surprised there was a problem

It is true that the most recent cores, Teflon or glass, are reliable and not prone to failure. It was the older (pre 2015) Teflon cores, which were the two that failed on me, that had known issues.

Bottom line is if it's not heating consistently, it should be checked out.

I've got both and it's hard to say..they are both good..glass seems to run hotter..when I use Teflon I don't usually use the de carb kit as that seems close to glass core..which did you get @FlyingLow ?

Smknbud~ which core do you prefer?
Seems to be a common topic, is there an overall consensus on which is better?

I am SOO pumped, just sent funds for a MV of my own!

I own Teflon core but have used a glass core.
You will not be disappointed with either.

For me, flavor and efficiency was paramount.
Teflon wins that IMO, but glass core mV also puts other vapes to shame for taste. Just not as much to shame as the Teflon :)

Plus, glass scared me if unit falls. Buddy's have knocked it over a couple times and just not sure about glass core resiliency if tipped. I don't think anyone has reported broken glass core but my wants match better with Teflon.

I use the mV about 2 dozen different ways and find more all the time---- experiment and enjoy

@FlyingLow I've only ever owned a TcMV. The glass cores came out after I bought it. The unit I have now is my daily driver for 10 months now. I've thought about getting a back-up, but have never pulled the trigger. Not sure if it would be a glass core or the Teflon again. I lean towards the Teflon.

Oh, and congrats on your purchase. You won't be sorry.

So dopey me was refilling mv. I'm standing on the side of the road, mv is on seat of F350. I'm midway filling when a gust of wind shakes the truck and mv goes for a tumble. I couldn't tell if it landed on grass or pavement. Anyways one weenie scratch, all works perfectly.

I know, I should have bought a lottery ticket....

Team NO SLEEP!
So I got a teflon core, all black, with accessories for both portable and home use.

I know I gotta get an Eds; are there any other accessories you all find indispensable?

Extra flexi wotzits. I could also use an extra lid (the adapter works great, but a piece off the ledge chipped off the lid and our doesn't fit as well now.

I'm really close to putting a glass adapter on it, now that someone got the idea in my head on the thread a week or so ago...

I like to almost exclusively hit it dry and used an over sized glass straw until I made the leap and got the WonG adapter and J-hook from @stickstones. I have an extra lid dedicated to the WonG because one bit the dust, lid that is, from my taking the WonG adater on and off constantly and ended up shearing the nipple off of the lid. Now it stays on and I don't force it flush with the top of the lid anymore.

Yeah guys, I can't stress enough that the adapter should stay on for good. I never remove mine. But if you're the type to mix things up a lot I don't think this solution is for you. The glass reducer solution is great and I might do it soon, but it still ends up destroying (on purpose) the nipple. I hope someday the whole lid gets redesigned and we don't have to jimmy-rig it.

Yeah when i originally put it on and such..it just seems to still come off..no big deal a imho its a must have for the mv..

My Wong had been on almost 100% of the time. The problem is mv had become more of an ultra portable for me, and Wong came off after being shoved into a jacket pocket while driving in the Bush on an atv. And certainly not for the first time. Now the wee raised piece is almost gone, so I'll have to jury-rig something.

JBweld the Wong to the lid perhaps?

If I got.a.MV could I make a GonG from Ti or stainless?

Wood would swell!
.......................................................................

wood does work but here's a "DONG" ;) Delrin on glass adapter that was made by a FCer. I'll have to look up who it was--it was awhile ago.
mVsongDelrintop-1.jpg

Metal liner inside Delrin. Ratchett Song on right--with whip inserted/
Dong works fine for connection to bubbler or straight hits from it.

Dong snaps onto the Mv lid nipple, just like the wood Wong.

Only a few were made.

Ti or Stainless version would be great........ go for it !
