I also have 2 waterpipes that are up for sale on Craig's List believe it or not but I don't really want to use them since they have been cleaned already for sale. Out of curiousity (in case I can't sell them) what do these measurements look like to you? Since there are only what 2 or 3 major sizes I was hoping someone here could eyeball these for me.

I recently bought the D020-D from sunshinestore, the same seller you linked to. I know nothing about water tools as this is my first piece.

I can say the hits retain a lot of flavor and are smoother than the dry stem. It looks very nice too and feels pretty solid and rugged.

The 18mm gongs will work perfectly. I prefer adjustable screen vs. fixed glass but both styles work well.

I added a pack of basket screens to both my orders so far and will probably continue to do so. I'm a bit of a hoarder, and lazy so I don't want to make my own.

I have a d020-d and it is fine for smoother hits, its got a fair amount of diffusion. For tastier hits I like either a dry stem (what I use most) or less diffusion like the straight down tube (natural perk) in my old bong. For those really big hits I like a big steamroller that can handle the whole load from the Nano in one shot.

As to the water pipe adapters I use the adjustable screen 18.8mm one because its fits most of my existing glass and hoses however there is nothing wrong with the 14.4mm except it a touch more restricted. Regardless of the size of the water pipe adapter you settle on get a backup. I have broken a few and waiting for a replacement can be a pain.

Anyway the adjustable screens allows you to vary not only the position of the load in relationship to the heater opening you can also jiggle the load size some but for me its the positioning thing that I like the most. Enjoy

Hey guys, I'd like some help deciding on a dhgate piece for the Nano. Tons of pieces I would love to smoke through (if I still smoked), but it's difficult to find something that would provide the optimal vaping experience. What are some percs that I should try to avoid? (I'm aware lower diffusion=better taste, I'm avoiding fritted discs at all costs). Is it better to have the downstem go through the bubbler like the d020's compared to a bowl/downstem being attached outside the bubbler? Does it make any difference?

The reason I want a new bubbler is because my first bubbler was a convenience buy, was directly from a friend for $20, but is a low diffusion slit perc, doesn't have a base, and has almost no chamber to milk (about 6 inches base to mouthpiece.) .. So I'm looking to fix those cons.
Honestly it seems like the D020-d or the GB-187 are the best options for me, but I'm just looking to see what others have to say. Inline percs look interesting for vaping, but I'm worried about drag when it comes to percs. I just want to be sure I get good drag for the Nano. I've used my friend's d020-d and gb-187 and enjoy them both, but would want to try something different.

Downstem position doesn't matter. Diffusion is king. Typically on DHgate I avoid Tree-perc designs because most have open tubes meaning the tree-perc doesn't fire properly. For the E-Nano I seem to like matrix style percs like the D020-D and my favorite is the GB-187-S

Inline percs are a good option for lower diffusion, but it would provide about the same level as the infamous OG D020.

What's really fun is switching glass after you've gotten used to one. Biggest jump I've noticed in taste was going from my GB-187-S to the FC-710. Talk about a world of difference. Although I didn't care for that setup too much, so I went back to my GB-187-S

Do you have a standard D020? It's cheap, small, and great for vaping. I bought mine from Sunshinestore over 18 months ago and still love it

How much science and math have you studied?

The D020 is $28 delivered. Add an ASH COLLECTOR if you need more volume.
D022 is what I use with the NANO however it's more$ than a D020!

To go off topic from my bubbler "issue" (GaS), and back on Nano topic...
Out of 1 gram I got 23 bowl from the Nano, average of what I usually use per bowl. (yes I tallied it)
That is .043 per bowl.
Two bowls is an average stoney feeling for me, 3 bowls is an after work sesh basically.
.086-.129 per sesh
I use the screen at default setting and pack just below the lowest point of the heater and avoid tamping down if possible (if anything I use an unused pencil just to get the top of the bowl to flatten out).
I'm saying this just as a guideline for anyone who doesn't have a scale like me (did everything by math) or is interested in something like this, lol.

I would like to add something I've noticed and a bit of advice. When I pack larger sized bowls (and even smaller sometimes), when I flatten the top layer of bud by using any round object to tamp down, I notice the top browns and the bubbler thins it's vapor sooner, despite having more quantity and a tighter pack. This is as a result of the top layer getting the majority of the heat due to less air passage between the layers of bud, so the heat doesn't pass through the entire bowl and extract all the goodies. This requires an extra stir and hit to get what could have been achieved through less bud in one hit.

My crew and I do "super hits", and our buddy wanted to try out a super hit. Everyone gave him their version of a super hit, and despite me packing the least amount, the buddy agreed the super hit given by me was the largest. I put the screen just below default, not a huge gap from the usual, but large enough to make a difference in quantity packed, avoiding tamping down if possible, (do a VERY light tamping if you wish to produce thicker vapor at first, but beware of a possible sooner thinning vapor throughout your hit: experimenting with quantity and tamping pressure is required to find your preference.)

D022 is awesome with the Nano. I didn't like the D020 with the Nano myself, but that might be personal preference. I thought the D020 worked well with the Solo though.

Being that we are providing some advice to @socksandscandals on the use of water pipes, I will offer some suggestions on non-dhgate glass. I know so many folks like dhgate glass and I don't mean to discredit those pipes. I have never taken to dhgate because I don't like the possibility of a paper trail through the customs system. Also, you have to wait so damn long to get your stuff (and if there's something wrong, the time spent replacing it).

I have bought some grav labs glass and also through the dankstop.com product line which is quite nice for a decent price. My daily driver for glass is a 12 inch waffle perc that cost me around $80. It is nice thick boro glass and fits the 18mm adjustable gong quite well. It has a slightly bent neck that makes nano use nice and comfortable. It came with free shipping and arrived in 2 days. Returns are also quite fast and customer service responsive.

I hear of some folks having good deals with thickassglass also. Although I wouldn't buy something with a lot of diffusion, you should see what you can get for around 100 bucks

I really prefer my nano vapor through water and glass. I say this, but tonight I decided to change things up and use the glass stem. Some great hits, but still slightly harsh on the throat. I know dhgate has someone selling a mini nector collector-like unit that fits a 14mm gong and costs about 15 bucks. I wish dankstop would make some of those. I would use it like a hydrotube on the nano.

What's so great about the adjustable basket you can taylor make your stem to fit your load. If the cannabis is butting up next to the heater it will charr your product. The Nano produces great flavor from your cannabis. It will stretch your cannabis budget.

I have a salad of GrapeApe, Tahoe OG with a sprinkle of the rest of my Blueberry tonight, my temp is on 6. Settling down for the evening, we're over hump day. It's been a very hectic week, I need to relax. :cheers:

For any of you interesting who happen to have an Arizer Air...AND a Nano...
So....the GonG for the Nano most certainly fits in the Air...yes, it's hilariously convenient.
Cons: The Nano GonG Bowl is thicker than the bowl for the Air, meaning the glass can't get as hot. Still hits surprisingly well.
*Note*...Make sure you take the GonG out before your unit cools down, as we don't want that GonG getting stuck!

Tip #2!
If you get the silicon from the Nano GonG and place it over your Air acrylic stem with the black screw cap removed, the silicone/stem will slide perfectly into an 18mm female.
Cons: ...It can be SLIGHTLY difficult to clear, as you have to pull out the Air, which is somewhat wedged with the Nano silicone/Air stem.

Good finds!

I just want to add that gongs will vary in OD so not all will fit as well as others, some might not fit at all in the air/solo.

FC-1000 for massive slightly less flavorful hits.

Ok so I received my E-Nano today at my doorstep.. But 2nd order of the Walnut stand didn't come yet? I wonder why since both were made immediately after the other? Anyhow I had my first session and honestly... I'M FRIGGEN AMAZED!!! This got me medicated so much faster than my Plenty with nearly a quarter of what I normally put in there! Not only that but the flavor was different than my Plenty.. I don't know how to describe it.. but maybe more earthy? Something about using this in comparison to the Plenty feels as it's somehow more organic in some way and I honestly feel as if this is like going back to the basic roots of what a vaporizer should be.. Simple, effective and efficient! Oh and the "Having to Stir the bowl doesn't bother me one bit. I also love how we can simply remove the stem from the heating element in order to kill the heat and conserve more!

Here are some pics I felt like sharing.. a little unboxing and a few pics of my spent ABV.

I still have many questions about this thing.. Namely.. Is this the normal color of ABV you guys get? My plenty gets much more dark brown (closer to the color of coffee) than this. This doesn't look spent to me but It must be because there is no more visible vapor coming though. Is this normal? Do you guys think I put too much in there? I didn't weight the herb.

How does this perform without grinding and does grinding perform better? If I was to weight my loads would it even matter if I just weighted the bud without grinding as opposed to weighting it after it was grinded? I'm not of fan of the latter due to the mess to be honest with you. I'm going to start making records so that's why I'm asking!

Also what is the default position of the basket screen? How do I measure it to adjust it? In the meantime I'll be skimming through and reading this thread. I decided to wait on getting a glass piece but I'll be using my 13 straight tube bong with it tonight! More on that later. I love this thing, I really do!!!

Thanks for the reply and the very useful information. Unfortunately I did not get a back up for my 18.8mm GonG but I do plan on being extremely careful and mindful because of the fact. I was really surprised that they did include a replacement stem in addition to the one that comes with the unit. Is this normal? Do they always ship 2 stems with a new order or first time customer like me? I was considering trying the "Fixed Glass Screen" stem as a replacement but decided against it at the last second.

What exactly is the default position of the screen? This thing really should have had a more detailed instruction manual. I have at least a half dozen or so questions that I'll have to address in my next post. First session was fantastic!

I guess I didn't notice when I glanced at that D020D piece.. but where does DHgate ship from? Your concern of a paper trail is fully justified imo because I'm sure its all considered drug paraphernalia across certain international borders? If I really want this piece I won't let that stop me but thanks for bringing this to my attention.

@Socks And Sandals try vaporizing your cannabis in another vaporizer go see if you can squeeze more vapor out of the ABV.

The glass from DHgate comes from China. Many folks have ordered from them without problems. I was worried about using my credit card but haven't had any problems, I've ordered three times.

I received two glass stems with my Enano from Epic. I have a fixed glass screen stem too I use that also and really like it, you use less herb. Use your Epic tool the e - pic to measure the distance of your basket and your herb. After a while you will get a feel for what works for you. Start with a smaller amount of cannabis in the beginning and see what you like best.

It really is a pretty awesome little vaporizer, and they are so beautiful. Every unit is a one of a kind, especially the custom units.

I only got one stem , but it's ok because I really don't use it. I prefer the gong for the water pipe.

Every time I use my nano now upside down with my gong, it makes a really horrid grinding glass sound. Im honestly scared to use it dry with my jhook now.

Anyone else have this ?

Thanks man... Unfortunately after last night.. I'm thinking of returning this for a variety of reasons.

1. I tried the 18mm gong last night in my 13 inch straight tube and only managed to get big hit (the draw was way too tight and I felt as if I didn't have the lungs to suck it down. Only one big hit and it would not produce vapor despite using that Epick as a guide for where the herb should be.

2. I went through 8 bowls in 20 minutes.. Yes really.. and I still obviously wasn't buzzed enough to stop..big bowls that only provided one hit. How can this be when one bowl got me so toasted the first time and now I'm unable to replicate it? I'm really not liking having to reload this thing at all.

3. While I understand the distance to basket and distance to scree.. thanks to Carol King's post of that pic. It just doesn't make sense to me. Number one.. both of my baskets had about 2 to 3 mm of extra space by default. It worked great the first time but now I moved the basket up a little bit (exactly where the lower portion of the epic rests) and I'm only getting one decent hit at the beginning.. then it becomes very thin and by the 2nd hit and after that I'm not getting shit out of it. The bud is still green and It's being saved in a separate ABV container that I will use to see if I can get more out of it with my Plenty. If I can, I'm more than likely going to return this next week.

4. After discovering that I'm only getting one major hit despite filling it up to where the herb should be on the EPick.. I'm now having another problem.... the last 5 loads I did were ALL CHARRED...I'm sorry but this exactly what REMINDS ME OF THE EASY VAPE.. and I dont like it. I ended up throwing the last 5 full sized bowls (all of which were such a tight draw I couldn't hit it anyway) of AVP away since I don't want charred ABV mixed with the perfect ABV from my Plenty.

5. I tried putting a tiny little bud in it last night as well.. It DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.. moved it far back from the heating element and then up close to it again, then put the screen exactly right according to the E Pick and even tried it a little lower than that (the way it came stock inside the stem) and This didn't produce any vapor at all!!!

Look I dunno if it's user error or not but I don't understand just how far the herb needs to be from the heating element and to be honest with you guys having an adjustable screen just adds to the guessing game of where the basket could be and how big of a load I can have. The last 5 bowls all became charred just like my cheap knock off Eazy Vape with the whip. I'm following the exact instructions.. to heat it up at 10 for 2 mins... then start out at 6.5 then 7.5 and stir the bowl. I don't pack tightly.. I just lightly tap it flat with a pencil.. I just don't understand..

The ABV never looks spent and sometimes is still light green but yet I can't get a draw because it's too tight and I can't produce any visible vaper after the first 2 hits. I'm thinking the fixed glass stem might solve my headache of this "guessing game" of how close the herb should be to the heater, but at this point I'm just not willing to spend the $25 to even try it.

Tonight I will be vaping while nursing a 12 pack of Newcastle Brown ale so it will be hard to really judge any affect I can get out of the E Nano since Alcohol always overpowers the effects of Marijuana.. smoked or vaped imo.

I know in my very first post I was pumped because I never got that medicated so quickly from vapor before but apparently that was just a one time thing because for the almost 10 bowls I had after that... I was only able to get 2 hits (despite the size of the bowl) and it stops producing vapor or it becomes burnt. As I said I don't understand this because I'm using the pic to measure the screen distance and the distance to the herb but yet the last 5 bowls were all burnt???

What really pisses me off is I'm watching these half dozen youtube videos on the enano and I see these guys putting in tiny amounts and getting 5 to 6 huge visible hits before cashing the spent herb? Well why is my herb not producing any vapor after the 1st or 2nd hit then? When I watch these videos.. even though I know they are real and are actually getting this much out of a single load.. Part of me doesn't believe it still.. because it's not working for me at all. :ugh:

Sorry to sound so disappointed but when I see these youtube videos of these Enano users getting all these hits when I can't... that's really disappointing and even more discouraging. Even with the Plenty.. there was no worry of combustion or charred herb and despite it being a weed hog.. I can "Set it and forget it" with no stirring and I always know that ABV comes out a dark coffee brown after the level 7 setting on the dial.

Ugh.. Well see how the next few days go.. I'll update later.. I'm just really pissed I bought this GonG piece and am unable to even get more than one hit despite how much is loaded. To make matters worse.. my digital scale doesn't measure into the hundredths only tenths so I have no way of telling what anything is smaller than a 0.1. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time... but my patience is wearing thin with these very inconsistent results. I'm not even going to try to use my water pipe with this again when I can't even get more than 2 hits out of the stem and even use that right... :doh:

I'm going to gather up all my E Nano ABV and put it in the Plenty tomorrow and I'll let you guys know how that goes. Trust me I have tried pushing the basket up.. pulling it back down and nothing helps... The ABV still doesn't look spent but yet no visible vapor is being produced.

Honestly.. my entire experience last night was almost as frustrating as getting a basic dab rig to work without constantly wasting material.... not to mention the fact that to this very day.. I am UNABLE TO VAPE CONCENTRATES AT ALL.. Whether it be in a pen, a vaporizer or a dab.. And dabbing is something I will never waste my time with again. I guess I won't even bother with them here since I can't even get the herb right with this thing. There seems to be way too much guesswork involved here to my liking. :bang:

@CarolKing Thank you so much for that pic of the E Pick! Why wasn't that included with the quickstart guide? Anyhow while I fully understand how to measure the 2 distances now.. Something still isn't adding up right as you can see in this post.

1. I tried the 18mm gong last night in my 13 inch straight tube and only managed to get big hit (the draw was way too tight and I felt as if I didn't have the lungs to suck it down. Only one big hit and it would not produce vapor despite using that Epick as a guide for where the herb should be.

2. I went through 8 bowls in 20 minutes.. Yes really.. and I still obviously wasn't buzzed enough to stop..big bowls that only provided one hit. 3. While I understand the distance to basket and distance to scree.. thanks to Carol King's post of that pic. It just doesn't make sense to me. Number one.. both of my baskets had about 2 to 3 mm of extra space by default. It worked great the first time but now I moved the basket up a little bit (exactly where the lower portion of the epic rests) and I'm only getting one decent hit at the beginning.. then it becomes very thin and by the 2nd hit and after that I'm not getting shit out of it. The bud is still green and It's being saved in a separate ABV container that I will use to see if I can get more out of it with my Plenty. If I can, I'm more than likely going to return this next week.

4. After discovering that I'm only getting one major hit despite filling it up to where the herb should be on the EPick.. I'm now having another problem.... the last 5 loads I did were ALL CHARRED...I'm sorry but this exactly what REMINDS ME OF THE EASY VAPE.. and I dont like it. I ended up throwing the last 5 full sized bowls (all of which were such a tight draw I couldn't hit it anyway) of AVP away since I don't want charred ABV mixed with the perfect ABV from my Plenty.

5. I tried putting a tiny little bud in it last night as well.. It DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.. moved it far back from the heating element and then up close to it again, then put the screen exactly right according to the E Pick and even tried it a little lower than that (the way it came stock inside the stem) and This didn't produce any vapor at all!!!

Look I dunno if it's user error or not but I don't understand just how far the herb needs to be from the heating element and to be honest with you guys having an adjustable screen just adds to the guessing game of where the basket could be and how big of a load I can have. The last 5 bowls all became charred just like my cheap knock off Eazy Vape with the whip. I'm following the exact instructions.. to heat it up at 10 for 2 mins... then start out at 6.5 then 7.5 and stir the bowl. I don't pack tightly.. I just lightly tap it flat with a pencil.. I just don't understand..

The ABV never looks spent and sometimes is still light green but yet I can't get a draw because it's too tight and I can't produce any visible vaper after the first 2 hits. I'm thinking the fixed glass stem might solve my headache of this "guessing game" of how close the herb should be to the heater, but at this point I'm just not willing to spend the $25 to even try it.

Tonight I will be vaping while nursing a 12 pack of Newcastle Brown ale so it will be hard to really judge any affect I can get out of the E Nano since Alcohol always overpowers the effects of Marijuana.. smoked or vaped imo.

I know in my very first post I was pumped because I never got that medicated so quickly from vapor before but apparently that was just a one time thing because for the almost 10 bowls I had after that... I was only able to get 2 hits (despite the size of the bowl) and it stops producing vapor or it becomes burnt. As I said I don't understand this because I'm using the pic to measure the screen distance and the distance to the herb but yet the last 5 bowls were all burnt???

What really pisses me off is I'm watching these half dozen youtube videos on the enano and I see these guys putting in tiny amounts and getting 5 to 6 huge visible hits before cashing the spent herb? Well why is my herb not producing any vapor after the 1st or 2nd hit then? When I watch these videos.. even though I know they are real and are actually getting this much out of a single load.. Part of me doesn't believe it still.. because it's not working for me at all.

All the problems you describe lead me to believe you may be over packing and or over grinding. The draw resistance shouldn't feel tight. Also sometimes the temp needs to be adjusted when going from dry stem to water pipe.

It has to be tapped down to a certain extent though right? Otherwise it's going to fall into the heating element if used rightside up. If I load only a little.. it produces nothing at all.. then when I move the basket up.. It gets burnt. What I really need is a pic of the proper distance the herb needs to be from the heating element. Again, this reminds me of the Eazy Vape. The Epick has to be wrong.. maybe thats why the baskets came pre installed a few MM less than where that notch shows on the Epick.

If the temp needs to be adjusted what would you recommend. I mean I had to squeeze every inch of air in and out of my lungs just to get anything out of my bong. Right now I just want to concentrate on getting the stem use down right first.

I thought I would never smell that burnt popcorn smell after that Easy Vape... I guess I was wrong. Maybe I really do prefer.. a set it forget it type of vape as opposed to herb efficiency after all? I dunno.. only time will tell. I'm currently trying to skim over every page of this thread to find answers but my company will be here soon so tonight is kinda a wrap.

@Socks And Sandals Thats right the draw shouldn't be tight. That leads me to believe also that you are using too much cannabis. Also a slow and steady draw works best. If you try to draw too fast it defeats the purpose with this style of vaporizer.

There is a slight learning curve with this unit. It took me a few tries to get the hang of things, but it's not that difficult that it wouldn't require a person a long time to figure it out. You are a vaporist so you are fully aware that damp cannabis doesnt work in a vaporizer, so I'm not even going to go there.

Maybe a too fine of a grind? Your cannabis shouldn't be butting up next to the heater. Your cannabis needs enough airflow so you won't have a tight draw.

As you can read there are plenty of folks that have good results with this log vape. Not sure what to suggest, maybe giving Andy a PM. It sounds like the heater is working because you have charred your bud. Sorry that you are disappointed - the very best of luck to you.
