Discontinued Elevape SV

Hey guys i have taken the plunge and just ordered a elevape sv from vapefiend uk with a 420 discount code and also they price matched another uk sites price. Very happy with that part. Should be delivered tomorrow morning everything going to plan. Ive read the first five and the last five pages. Cant wait to try this thing out. I got the stir lid to try. But have also read about changing the lid screen no stir tool and this reaps good results. Along with the basket screen bottle top method. Finally the mouthpiece gauze removal. Is there any mods ive missed?

Has everyone just gone with defaults heat settings to start or is there a general feeling of what is best to set the three temps at?

Also the bending of the coil slightly down wards. Is something to do straight away or try it out as is?

Cant really find best advice on draw speed. Is it a slow long sipper or a medium ripper or a bong like ripper? Do you keep your draw same speed through out or start slow then build up?

Finally anyone hooked it up to a water pipe? If so how and was it anygood.
Thanks for your time guys hope to be back here tomorrow raving about this vape

Hi FO not sure what the problem is i do think it is working but with the temp up at the top i get a little cloud i have had 4 craftys which i loved But after 50 hours they broke so switched to the elevape as the clips of people using the elevape they are getting nice taste and cloud.. thanks for helping FO.. Al

Draw speed? Presume you can puff pretty fast if max temp is useable for you? Try drawing slower for first part of the hit (not too slow ofcourse, for combustion risk), then speed up in the back half of it to clear after light flashes off. 4 days isn't that much for something new like this, sometimes it takes a lot of practice for some people, especially if you hvmave a desktop (which one?) bc the style of hit can be different. Also fine-ish grind, packed 3/4 full? I can get huge clouds at level 1 like that...

@*plainlazy* ^ this might help you as well. Just don't draw too slow is biggest thing you missed. Only 8sec hits (unless you do a primer puff = puff for a few sec quick pause and continue a full 8sec puff) so its a quick hitter for sure, not a slow a slow sipper. I say start on level 1 305F to get a feel, some like me can finish a bowl like that with draw variance and taste is phenomenal. If you can draw quick enough consistently, then upper temps can work well without combustion risks (also starting low will help you see if you need to adjust coil downwards or not)

@ Al.. I bought my ESV new directly from IPUFFUSA back in March of this year. After one week I had an issue where it would not provide any vapor. All lights and coil test passed when I was on the phone with Joe. I sent it back to Joe and got it back. I was without my ESV for only 6 days and I thought I was going to lose my mind. I got it back and instantly rekindled with the great vape signature that the ESV has.

Joe had mentioned it was a defective battery. My point is 6 days is all it took. I used USPS 2 day priority mail to ship it from East Coast to West Coast. Joe used the same. I think it cost $6. It is well worth it to try.

Before you send it back, call Joe and he will help you troubleshoot it to ensure it needs to be sent back. The number listed on the Elevape website goes directly to him and he will answer everytime by the 3rd ring in my experience. (I had called him almost a dozen times in March-April).

I believe there are two likely issues for your problem Al..

1- defective battery (hey it happened to me)
2- air leaks (many including myself have found the stock mouthpiece to be a little loose so if you are pulling hard even without a tight seal you may not be able to pull hard enough. I have also noticed that when reassembling the ESV you must crank down the screws. I am always afraid I will strip them so I often will squeeze the ESV parts together so they are as tight as possible and this allows the screw to be tightened without putting much force on it until the very last 1/4 turn.

The device is more apt to combust than to not provide enough heat so chances are you have a defective battery I think. I'm glad your getting it resolved with Vapefiend.

Perhaps there's too much restriction such that you can get the heater to temperature but not draw enough air though it to heat the load at the rate you want?

One test that hasn't been mentioned, I think, is to look into the empty bowl in the bathroom mirror as you blow into the charging/USB port (basically the air inlet). You should see the heater flash up in a second or two through the bottom screen in the bowl. It the coil glows bright and fast the battery and rest is fine.

But I wonder if there is some block going on? Maybe at the connector itself, or in the main path to the heater, at least some of the air goes through the flow sensor.

And I keep coming back to 'if THC went in with the load and not out with the ABV it came out the MP somewhere along the line'. Vapes don't destroy the good stuff like blazing.......

Another way to conduct this test would be to blow through the USB port. You can do this with the vapor chamber off and the coil exposed...just don't touch the coil especially if it does light up!

I remove the lid..place my thumb over top then blow into micro USB then remove thumb to see the coil light up.

I have hooked the ESV to a water pipe and the 8 second auto shutoff seemed to limit it's function with a water pipe quite a bit for me anyway so I never use it that way.

@nosmoking You can get a longer draw. Hit it for 4 seconds, stop, then hit it again for the 8 second shut off. If you have the lung capacity you can also just keep drawing through the light through a second cycle.
I use this technique with mine through my nibbler G water pill and it works awesome.
The mouthpiece will not make that big of a difference if it wobbles a bit, although @Shit Snacks and I both prefer the delrin mouthpiece (larger ID hole) and no MP screen. You can also take off the MP completely and hit it native style like a MFLB.

@OF is on point with using the mirror if you blow through the USB to flash the coil, this way you wont burn yourself @blackbur.

One thing to make sure of is that you did not over tighten the coil post screws. They can break without you really noticing , and give you sporadic results because you will not have a good connection to heat the coil.

@Al.. This may be your issue. Broken coil legs will not make the proper connection. Try taking the coil out and tapping the coil posts on a pencil and see if a coil leg piece falls out. If so replace the coil. When you do, tighten it snug, not too tight though. Use it for a session or 2 then recheck the coil post screws.

Check Youtube, I have several Elevape videos on there, hopefully one or more can help you out.

Keep posting your results. Everyone will help you out as much as possible. This is a great forum with some great and extremely knowledgeable people who are always here to help you out.

I hope something in my ramblings helped!

I do hit mine like you mentioned but sometimes I going for 3 or 4 cycles typically. I feel like when I have hooked up my ESV to a water pipe (only have a 12" bong or hydrotube which I will not use because I would never want to risk dropping water in to the ESV) I get a restricted draw or have too large a chamber to fill and the ESV doesn't seem to perform well. I have used a whip also and didn't feel like I was getting much better results. I have even attached my ESV to my Daisy for an electric Daisy but I always opt to use them separately as they both work best the way they were designed. I would think a smaller bubbler or nibbler might do better with the ESV.

I have also removed the screen and I have both mouthpieces and tried native. All suck in my opinion and make it difficult to get consistent results compared to the makeshift mouthpiece I have been using for months. I also believe the mouthpiece is one of the bigger flaws of the ESV (IMO). I cut a wooden MFLB stem and used a grommet to get it to seal very tight. The grommet fit is so tight I have to actually take apart the vapor path compartment and fit the grommet and stem in place and then squeeze the two parts together with lots of pressure to ensure I get a perfectly tight air seal along the perimeter of the vapor path when I tighten the screws. If I don't squeeze hard enough, I will not be able to get the screws tight enough to get that good seal so I try not to remove it but every two weeks because I am always afraid I am going to strip the screws. It's the tradeoff I currently have for a mouthpiece that works great. My finishing touch on the mouthpiece is I added a V2 cigs clear silicone drip tip. I posted about it before with a picture.

sorry for the double post, but this post is completely unrelated to the above post...

I am curious to see who uses their ESV as their daily driver and who uses it as their back-up. I am also curious what daily driver would be put in front of the ESV or what the go to back up is for ESV users as I am sure we all have different back-ups. I don't really have a great back-up for the ESV. I have plenty of vapes as you can see below, but nothing that can replace the ESV if it was out of service. I would probably have to go back to my MFLB if my ESV did ever go out of service.

Mine went from daily driver to back up, Zion had everybody else relegated to back up. But now that I'm waiting for production next week, I've been relying on Firefly and Lily more than Elevape honestly. I don't know, when I went back to mine performance doesn't feel quite as excellent as it was previously... Should be spending more time with it I suppose

So about 11 last night the esv was showing a green light time to try this guy out. I decided to change the stock temps to match what i saw a guy using on you tube. The temps seemed low but in the video there is cloud upon clouds of vapor. So packed a bowl. Took an 8 sec draw and nothing. Tried slow medium and fast draws nothing. Bumped up to two nothing. Up to three nothing. Opened her up no change to material.
So connected it back up to pc and change temp 1 to 170c 2 to 190c and 3 to 210c. Tried again temp 1. Nothing slow or medium or high. Little bit of flavour i suspose. Only when i got to temp 3 did i get a wispy thin hardly a cloud puff came out. Got maybe two of those. Stirring with the lid like the guy in the video did. Nothing.....
I was for a cloud machine as seen in a few videos on you tube. The material came out very lightly vaped. Im not convinced im pulling it right or im not sure what. But cant feel a little disappointed. I have also had the coil in the down position and also flat normal posistion. I suspose when i got the two v thin clouds it was in the normal posistion. Maybe have it upwards? I did try the blow in the usb hole and it lit the coil up seemed bright so have been scared to combust but like another guy on here i seemed to get nothing out and a hot Elevape. Can any advize what to do or try next? Feel like the money spent this thing should be working a lot better out of the box on first use. Is this a little like a firefly? Temperamental?Anyway guys hope you can help before i contact vapefiend

There was a batch of Elevapes that were made with an incorrect part, causing the unit to not produce sufficient heat. People not getting any vapour at high temps might benefit by contacting Joe at Elevape about having the unit fixed. It makes a world of difference.
