UNBOX PHOTOS ARGH! too impatient...
I received my first vape, the mighty AIR, on saturday. Ordered Thursday From puffitup.
Quick.
I too hated that initial full charge. I read that it is a net loss battery wise while charging or I'd have gotten to it right then and there.

I agree. SMALL! I must have a problem- I've looked at probably a hundred pics in the last few weeks between reviews, guide, and vape sites, and STILL smaller than I expected. Pleasantly surprised.

So I'm only 4ish session deep, and getting better results each time.

I domed my self a little screen for the plastic topped stem, for a little half loader, and seems good to go.
Still feeling it out, sure to keep learning.

Also, having some fun emptying out a bunch of freebie coop preroll bats, as theyre dry, harsh, and finely ground. Seem a treat in the AIR.

I'm hooked.

again: PUFFITUP!

Post it. I'm curious to see what surprises you found. I think it's a bit hard to standardize draws/volume of air through it when you do it yourself. Ideally it would be hooked up to a vacuum on a timer of some sort to make sure only X liters of air are drawn consistently through Y time.

I just got my last 2 batteries today, going to run through the cycles with them and post the chart when I finish. Hopefully consistent with my results so far...

Things have come a long way indeed with water cooling the last few years. It was only 20+ years ago I was ripping cones out of an Orchy. Glass was only for flash cunts & you don't buy a billy if you can buy buds.

Can't say I don't appreciate a decent piece of glass these days. Kinda makes me wonder if it is worth purchasing that hydratube really.

I've been lurking here for a week or so, mainly staring at the graph above and making my own version of it with the batteries I have. I've had similar results, but a few surprises popped up. Is there an updated version? Or would it be cool to post mine here?
Go for it dude! I haven't had much time to test new cells so I'd love to see your results.

Do you recommend the LG ICR18650HE2? I see it performed well in your test. For $13 a pair I'd love to double my batteries for the Air.

now the device is charging and waiting time still SUCKS! hehe :):)

I did not think that it is so damn small (*exploding orgasm* - no this issnt ectoplasm xD)

really cant wait to take the first hit, but i would heat up the device first because of the stems (they fit better after first heat up they mentioned in the readme).

Just ordered my Arizer Air from Puffitup! Excited! Question: I live in Europe, and I thought I had to buy a wall outlet adapter, but I see you've gotten a european charger, how's that?: )

Additionally, PIU now has a $90 discount on the Arizer Air with the code "air" : )

Welcome to the Forum, lots of good folks around already, room for more.

I suspect the good folks at PIU keep an eye on the customer's country and give the charger to match. It's the sort of stuff Randy would do.......

And the down side is no big deal, the charger is good for 100 to 220 Volts (without switching), so all you'd need is a mechanical adapter plug from the hardware store.

Enjoy your Air, great choice......as we PIU come to think of it.

I live in germany and i ordered it from a store that stands in germany (you can pm me when you want to know the store) so they send me an eu charger:) but i know there is an adapter for many countrys because the adapter from the air can handle all standarts (different volts).

as he said i think he would keep an eye on that too, but its always good to email them first.
its always great to see a new Air user:)!

Few days in now. Looking for best practices.

I have the short, tipped, stem fitted with a self-domed screen (reg ss flat screen from a shitty pipe, domed over sharpie. ) for half loads

Longer all glass stem for full.

All of my best tasting hits are invisible. Is it ONLY flavor at that point? Or are you getting lifted from puff one?

Also. When to insert?
Fill stem, plug then heat?
Start heating, insert halfway?
Walt for solid blue before inserting?

Point: while I'm getting more used to the "nuttier" (not quite right description) taste of the subsequent hits, but I'd LOVE that green bowl taste with a not insubstantial cloud.

Am I chasing unicorns?

At the start of the bowl at lower temps you will get a majority of flavor for the first short while, normally for me the first few hits are invisible then they become more so.

I turn my air on first, then pack them stem, and by the time that's done its slightly warmer so just hold the stem, herb facing upwards, and turn the air upside down and place it onto the stem. I take a few hits kinda holding it upwards to prevent the herb getting right next to the heater.

I find I get max clouds with a fairly fine grind, packed into the stem with a light tamp down and I work my way from blue, up to green with a few hits spaced between each.

If you add your cannabis to the stem and barely tap with your finger slightly below the edge (don't overfill) and that way the cannabis stays in place once warm and won't rest up next to the oven. It stays tastier that way too, no charring. You don't want to pack your bud because you will get too tight of a draw. You want enough air flow through your product.

This is a nice vaporizer to have on the go and very stealth with the short stem. Buy plenty of batteries. They last about 50 - 60 min. depending on a lot of variables such as heat, length of draw, possible temperature outside - if it was freezing.

I'm 5 weeks in and the fun of using it isn't fading at all. I'm still new to vaping and I have loved everything about the experience. Hard to describe the different feeling the high has about it. Today I'm thinking there may be certain chemicals in weed that I no longer get, and their sudden absence after so many years is part of the effect. If so then I would expect vaping experience to keep getting even better, as I get used to their absence. I'll just take all the vapor I get from it and let mother nature figure it out. Air is so great!!!

Got my D4 charger. one question, Is it better to charge these batteries slow.
In the old days with Ni-cads i always did a slow charge every now and then.
I love my D4. Auto switches for battery types, even LifePo.
It's high rate charge is 750 mA so really not that high. A very good rate IMO. Once you put 3+ batteries in it the charge rate drops to 1/2 that. (375 mA)
No worries as far as I'm concerned.

Combustion byproducts mainly... And with the benefit of not destroying as many cannabinoids (up to 40% loss from smoking!!) as well as the volatile terpenes... It's a lot "cleaner" imo.

In the old days with Ni-cads i always did a slow charge every now and then.

The general rule for high performance Li-ions is ideal charging is at the '1 to 2 hour rate'. Most systems are shy of that. The official charger (the only one I can recommend that fits Arizer guidelines) is one Amp (two hour rate, give or take), so that charger is slower in any mode.

Past the point the batteries self heat on charging there's no advantage (and some potential disadvantages) to charging 'too slow'. Unlike some other battery types.

Here are the finding I have had with the 10 batteries I've gotten over the past 3 weeks since getting my first AA unit. I acquired a second unit (supposed to be a gift but she didn't like it) and performed some of the testing over with nearly identical results.
The batteries consist of 2x purple OEM, 2xgreen samsung INR18650 25R, 2xblue samsung INR18650 25R, and 4xPanasonic NCR18650B.
All batteries were charged using a LUCv4 charger on .5a. The units were all allowed at least 10 minutes of cooling and battery rest between sessions. Testing was stopped when the battery light blinked.
*The run listed as panasonic 8 Aromatherapy was using the cup that came with it and no air draw. Comparing that to next column (panasonic 8 run 2) which is the same battery being used as extremely as possible and you will notice an approximate difference of .03v in the drain comparatively. Using these numbers I believe that a 3% margin of error (per session) in the battery drain is about the maximum you would expect to see based on usage patterns.
**I have noted voltage draws from 2.1a to 3.9a from cold on the highest temp settings.

I have to say the OEM batteries are VERY disappointing. They performed poorest out of all the batteries, failing to finish a 6th session every single time. They did perform equal with each other so I don't know that there is any issue with them. One of the blue samsungs ended slightly prematurely (6th session ended 10 seconds early.)
The other samsung batteries all got at least a partial 7th session and the panasonics got me an 8th session 4 out of 5 times I measured.

I would have to say that there is no discernible difference in the heat up times, or the quality of use/vapor based on different batteries.
I plan on running a few more tests, including a continuous drain test (straight use from full to empty) and tests that compare the benefits of using the silicone wrap that came with the units.

For any of you interesting who happen to have an Arizer Air...AND an E-Nano...
So....the GonG for the Nano most certainly fits in the Air...yes, it's hilariously convenient if you don't have an AAir GonG
Cons: The Nano GonG Bowl is thicker than the bowl for the Air, meaning the glass can't get as hot. Still hits surprisingly well.
*Note*...Make sure you take the GonG out before your unit cools down, as we don't want that GonG getting stuck!

Tip #2!
If you get the silicon from the Nano GonG (or any other glass stem silicone most likely) and place it over your Air acrylic stem with the black screw cap removed, the silicone/stem will slide perfectly into an 18mm female.
Cons: ...It can be SLIGHTLY difficult to clear, as you have to pull out the Air, which is somewhat wedged with the Silicone Stem Combo.

Good finds!

I purchased an arizer air from torontovaporizer.ca that came in less than pristine condition
1) A couple of small scratches were on the top of the unit
2) Both mouthpieces had watermarks (eg. looks like it was cleaned and water dried on it)
rvieJ3I.jpg

3) The bowl had gunk on the side (I scratched part of it off that's why the picture looks how it does)
cROzx1s.jpg

4) The metal tool came bent
pJu3YNP.jpg

I contacted torontovaporizer. I was honest and said I had used the unit since then. I asked them if the condition I got it in was normal. They did not answer my question. Instead they said they could not help me as it was used and to contact the manufacturer

So I'm asking my knowledgeable brothers and sisters here. Is the condition I got the vaporizer in normal for a new unit?
