That's what I want to hear! This with nice and thorough extraction/browning?
Yes indeed my friend. I am hovering around 80% on the Zionometer and I am producing daaark coffee grounds

Johnny yomps it up.

But I have mentioned elsewhere on the forum however, that although asthmatic, I do have vacuum lungs . . .

So, I wasn't paying attention last night while I was watching something on TV and before hitting Venus (in a good way) I realized I had held the button too long (probably 25 seconds). I knew better but decided to take a chance. Boom, combustion. Oops.
Fortunately I was using my UFO so I saw the combustion before it got to me. As thick as Zion clouds can be, combustion is pretty obvious when you see it.

I describe this event for 2 reasons. First to remind folks that Zion has a LOT of power and is no weak ass vape that leaves you unfulfilled. You CAN get as serious a hit as you want from Zion. And while it is very controllable, you CAN go too far. And I did.

But the OTHER part of the story is combustion cleanup is easy and simple, and leave no residual taste in the Zion. The goods are in the separate glass stem and unless you freaked and actually blew into the stem, the smoke doesn't enter the device at all. Changed my M2M (or I coulda cleaned it but I have more), changed the water in my UFO and I was off again as if it never happened.

I can't help but wonder how Zion is gonna change things...

That is one "negative" I've noticed about the Zion from other reviews, is that it is possible to combust with it. I have no problem fine tuning and paying attention, especially with a device that gives on demand rewards. Like you just said; I assume it is easy to clean a combustion problem given that most of the parts involved are glass. I've combusted once long ago in my inexperience and have learned a lot from that experience. Most importantly learning the limits of herb and machine will give you the best chance to get as much as you can out of both. In this case extra freedom means extra risk and reward.

One isn't a door, the panel over the electronics is non removable by the user.

I'm conflicted because I know screwing around with the insides will void the warranty, but If I can fix something myself, I would like to have that option. Send me a new heater so I don't have to send my unit away kind of thing. Then there is the whole QC issue of whether or not something else is wrong or that I know what I am doing or even installed it correctly, but i digress.

Along those lines, how would return/repairs be handled in the future? Some places will overnight you a whole new unit once they got confirmation that your old one is sent. For something like the Zion, I feel like the wood body makes it the whole unit a bit more of a personal item. In this case, if I had to send my unit in for whatever reason, I feel like I would rather wait for mine to be repaired than get a new one.

The biggest frustration I have with my FM5.0 is its fixed temp being too low. I am very limited in my ability to get a good hit with it. If the strain is just right, the moisture level is just right and I have a full battery charge I can be satisfied. In many cases I can not.

If you can not ever no matter what you do go too far, I think there is a good chance that you will not always be satisfied. Zion is still very controllable, and I can turn it down so combustion is impossible, but you CAN go further than you should. That is a feature, not a bug.

May I suggest, however, that TOD is NOT for you. :)

If you bought your Zion before October you have a lifetime Warranty. If after that you have 3 years. There really is no need to go inside the Zion unless you have a failure, and then you have a warranty. If you have a problem and describe it to RBT, he will instruct you on what to do, which will likely be to send it back to him. Details on warranty repairs will follow.

To be honest with you there is very little to go wrong so I don't expect many warranty issues. This is not a terribly complicated device like some others out there. But only time will tell for certain...

Yes yes! Two hits was my power standard through bubbler for quick bowls.... Remember folks 80% for Veg will only be about 60%(:whoa:) for you on the production Zions, still easy to avoid combustion if you set the dial at 50% or below nigh impossible as cybr said. Except maybe if you hold the button way too long somehow, but should never be holding it longer than 30sec max on production Zions anyway

I'm loving this news. That is what we Zioneers are use too. RBT has done an unbelievable job of delivering on what he's promised.
This has been the most fun, educational, uplifting thread that I've been a part of here at FC.
Kudos RBT. As always you one bad mother fucker in my eyes.

I see this as a positive.
I like the option to push it close to the line if i want so appreciate a manufacturer that allows me to make the call.
that said, as noted, the power dail allows one to set it low enough to ensure combustion is not possible if that is a concern.
Best of both worlds.

But I like it!
The best things run the risk of danger if pushed a bit too far. Think of it as a Porsche; easy to drive, and very forgiving for the experienced driver. The novice driver will find it easy until the first corner, where it's very forgiving to the experienced driver, but this is where novices fly off the track.

A perfect session in the Vapman is darn close to combustion, too. But once you know how it works it doesn't really happen, until you are vaping distractedly and you deserve it...

Be ready for jealousy FC community. Feeling a bit better so I went to visit RBT at their mad laboratory. I held in my hand the most stunning production quality Zion. Once in hand I had no choice but to put her through her paces. The signature Zion vapor body even more enticing. The finishing work is far above the beta's quality. The batteries, chargers etc are in and ready to go when units go out. Saw the completed bodies , buttons, knobs, wire, corks, screens, the heater materials etc. RBT noted that the reverse polarity chips have arrived so he is well on his way. Did I mention I got to use it?:ko:

@MrPeanut You're doing a hell of a job as a reporter in field also! Thanks for the delicious info.
So if you ever feel like walking by over there another time, we're always a bunch of thankful drooling peeps enjoying every tiny bit of Zion News Channel.:haw::science:
(Isn't that beloved Ron Burgundy running this channel? He's got a desk of rich mahagony, leather bound books and there's a rumor he even has an int. Zion pre-order...for when in Rome):D

Peace y'all :peace:

Eagerly awaiting more updates now on the Zion after that little bit of jealousy inducing info mr peanut I don't know if I love you or hate your right now but I think I'll say the former at least for now, it's good to know the the RBT team are working there socks of putting these together for us all to buy. Did you take any new pics to tease us with ever more or is the state of play right now very top secret and hush hush?

One thing I'd like to see is a side by side image so I can get my head around the size of the unit (mass production unit if it differs from the beta one) I do still fancy the single battery version but having the extra power in the Zion dual battery version in my eyes at least would be more beneficial, having the dial turning up and down at will is yet another excellent feature.

These pics around page 105 of this thread I think are good pics for perspective next to a 12oz can of Dr Pepper. "Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?"

Great shots as usual, @VegNVape

I don't think there will be any noticeable size difference from the betas.

Here is ONE of them for your instant gratification.

I'm going to name mine Ananke. I actually feel this would be a great model name for a high quality vaporizer. For those not familiar with Ananke, I quote, from Wiki:

"In ancient Greek religion, Ananke (/əˈnæŋkiː/), also spelled Anangke, Anance, or Anagke (Greek: Ἀνάγκη, from the common noun ἀνάγκη, "force, constraint, necessity"), was protegnos of inevitability, compulsion and necessity, depicted as holding a spindle. One of the Protogenoi, Ananke marks the beginning of the cosmos, along with her mate, Chronos (Chronos protogenos — not the titan Cronus). She was seen as the most powerful dictator of all fate and circumstance which meant that mortals, as well as the Gods, respected her and paid homage. Considered as the mother of the Fates according to one version, she is the only one to have control over their decisions (except, according to some sources, also Zeus)."

Of course I first have to have my hands on this beauty to ensure the name feels right, but thinking I'm going to go with Dr. Jekyll and once the ToD comes along be naming him Mr. Hyde. Two different sides of the zion tec so think it fits appropriately

Well sir @MrPeanut,you my friend are a bit of tease. That's ok. I did see the stir stick in a pic and it's looking quite dapper if you ask me. The whole Zion look has really been transformed from a utilitarian look to more of a refined appearance. It's smoothed up lines and overall cleaned up look is going to improve on the entire Zion experience. IMO.

Curious, before RBT updated the website, he had long glass stems listed and now they're just listed as mouth pieces. Will we getting one short and one long stem? Or should I be looking to add some long stems to my order?

Edit: Also stealing the RBT avatar cause I think it looks cool and I'm sick of no avatar :)

I stole the logo from RBT and made the avatar for myself but you can use it I suppose. Will still be getting long and short stems with Zion last time I asked.
