I remember Grado when they used to make cartridges. They were really good, especially their signature series.

Yeah, they are top notch. If you have a FB account, you can like them for chances to win a pair of their headsets.

I use some Sennheiser CX200 earbuds for my phone music. Easily the best $14.99 I've spent on earphones. Senn makes some wicked cans too ;)

I use these. They might be a little on the expensive side, but i travel about 1,5 hours a day and i feel naked without music at those times.

OMG !!! I just got some Hifiman RE-400's in-ears. I'm hearin' things on tracks that I've listened to a bazillion times, that I never heard before. The texture on the vocals, on the bass guitar strings, etc etc. I think I'm love. Amazing.

There's just a very few things that I spend money on that gives me pleasure, but this was the best 100 bucks I've spent in a very long time.

If anyone's in the market for new earphones, these have my stamp of approval, and then some but only if you're into accurately reproducing what the engineers laid down. Bass-heads need not apply, but when bass lines are required, oh.........it's there. And the highs are just silky smooth. And the mids.........oh, the mids.......And I'm not even vaked yet. :o

I absolutely love Denon headphones. I listened to the AH-D7000s and I honestly was awestruck listening to them.

I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD555's and Beyerdynamic DT880 600ohms at home and a pair of ultimate ears triple.fi 10's in my satchel for work and stuff. I'd really like to send them off to null audio and get another driver put in and get them remolded to customs

my mouth waters for customs :3

Yeah, I'd love me some JH13 Pro's, but there's no way in hell that I can afford those. Those triple.fi 10's are nice though.

The more money I have spent on IEMs, the more I appreciate simple and IMO more comfortable Over Ear units.

Yeah but in situations like using public transportation where you want maximum isolation by blocking out incoming noise while at the same time eliminating playback from disturbing others in a form factor that you can throw in your pocket, IEM's really make a lot of sense.

I'll tell you something, these Japanese import Sonys have totally changed my mind about IEMs. They are really as good as the reviews say...honestly

I'm still using my sennheiser hd600's with a headphone amp or some etymotic er4 buds.

Still enjoying my HiFiman's RE-400's. Got them a few years ago when they first came out. My ears started to itch like crazy and I finally figured out that it was the Comply Foam tips I was using. Switched to silicone. Itching gone..........

Just wanted to big up these earphones - there may be better sets out there, but not at this price - these are dope!

Hah, i saw "japanese sonys" and was wondering if they were these!
I have a set of these. I really really love them.
if you need a better seal the comply ts200's fit them. i keep a set in the case that came with the XB90EX.

bass is CRAZY! with my sansa clip zip. i love these damn things!

they have made me enjoy IEMs again. i only like headphones which provide the bass bump or sound clarity of my free standing stereo tower speakers at home.

sorry to hear you lost yours - i ordered mine directly from japan and cost $73 before EMS shipping, slightly more than amazon, but i wanted some other things from japan too.

try listening to some BASS MEKANIK with your XB90EX!!! wow you might not be able to see straight!

Cheers M8,
Yes, I now see that I didn't name them in my original post... I think I thought the link would become a photo. Anyway, yes - we're talking about the Sony XB90EX and they marked a "before and after" in my listening experience. It's funny, the day before they went missing I was thinking - "I should buy a spare set of these in case they break or get lost"... Brilliant buds - nobody really believes it until they try them.

I had some of the older JVC in ears like that. they were pretty nice. i had some and got some comply foam tips to make the seal better.

@Ricardo do you plan to get the Headstage Arrow 5TX?

@Hot Dog Day 187 I like them plenty of bass which I like. No sacrifice on the mids and highs either. I'm probably not the best person to ask about sound quality. Tinnitus has me hearing a high pitched whistle all day everyday. Along with the occasional bass fluttering. I don't see in HD either. I've been meaning to get some silicone putty and making my own plugs.

Nah dude, that's out of my league... I like decent quality but I'm not really an audiophile... Best inventions ever: weed and stereo :leaf::rockon::peace:
