College Football Nation . . . digesting week #2, t-dub's thoughts: The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Starting off with the ugly: You heard it here first, our new QB Vernon Adams Jr., has broken his right index finger. Yeah it was taped up and in a glove for the game with Michigan State and it was broken the whole time. The most I could find out was that it was broken in practice some time during the week after the Eastern Washington game. Good thing we found out he can throw with his left arm . . . ;) I admit Sparty played a good game but we really should have won that, and probably would have, if Vernon was healthy. Also in the ugly column is Malik Zaire's season ending broken ankle in Notre Dame's victory over Virginia. Ouch. But what a great game to watch with a mind altering ending. Ahhh the agony of defeat . . . sorry Virginia fans . . .

The bad: We lost. No way around it. It was a quality loss and since it was early we have time to bury it. Our defense still sucks. Bad. These kids can't tackle. I did see improvement however so time will tell.

The good: First off did anyone see Mariota's game against Tampa Bay and Jameis Winston? Wow, what an amazing debut, however that ship has sailed and I must move on. Nice to see the SEC looking a little vulnerable. Also UCLA and the Trojans look strong and seem to be the PAC-12s best representation. Josh Rosen continues to impress and USC seems to look better all the time. Should be a really good game against the Trojans when they come up here and my guess is we will be playing UCLA for the PAC-12 championship. Looking forward to the Bama Ole Miss matchup.

Parting thoughts: I still love my Ducks so here is a shout out to them. Animal House was filmed in Eugene so Nike and the Ducks were able to create this fun video with some surprising talent. Its fun to see Marcus smash a guitar and Otis Day and the Knights still got it. This was originally intended to be aired after we won the National Championship but it was tabled when that didn't happen. Its cool though because they were able to dubb in the scene with Mariota and the guitar.

The journey continues against Georgia State this weekend. As you can see I am back up in the club level. The land of the anointed with amenities not found down in the regular stadium . . . :D

Go Ducks!!!

A man in search of cloudier pastures
Wasn't able to see most of the games today, just a few PAC 12 games.

The PAC are cannibalizing each other. Might not be able to get a team to the playoffs.

And UFC 192 was pretty mediocre IMO.

Chaos gods live on the West Coast! Big upsets in the PAC 12, no one from the PAC is going to the playoffs. Great games though.
I wasn't going to write here because the chaos in my personal life has me feeling no joy for any recreational pursuits . . . however . . . my Ducks have started to redeem themselves. The victory over CAL was amazing with 777 yards total offense, a school record, but the win on the road over Stanford last night really showed that the components of the Ducks are there and will be effective with proper leadership. I guess we shouldn't fire the coaches yet, HOWEVER, the coaching staff is still making way to many errors.

To the winners this weekend: Arizona was fortunate. Hopefully Anu will be ok.

Luke Falk is the Energizer Bunny of college football. Keep going . . . sorry UCLA . . .

They were fantastic games.

Saw the Ducks were taking the Horned Frogs behind the woodshed early, up 31-0 at halftime. They must have destroyed them, after all they didn't have Boykins due to solicitation. ;)

Yup that was a kick in the balls. Jeremy Hill needs to be traded for that Jerome Bettis like fumble. The only unfair hit was Shazier on Gio, and that was the only one called wrong. The ref calling Pacman for 15 was unreal to give a game away on a penalty, where Porter should have been with his injured player not starting arguments away from his player on opposite sidelines. Let them earn it and don't give it to them. Lucky for Bronco fans they get a lame duck qb vs a lame duck qb, that game might set records for dump offs. I'm a huge Chiefs fan as well, so I've felt pain my whole life in the NFL. Even though I respect their ownership and front office it's still better than being a steelers fan! ;)

I can' stand the f'in steelers, that somersault td catch was sick though.
Cincie played well enough to win, but bad coaching and lost composure down the stretch :disgust:

That's another point, in the year of what's a catch they rule that a td! I agree, sick individual effort and a backyard td all day. But I bet Calvin Johnson was watching and saying you're about to get screwed Martavis. I still can't believe Tomlin had the gonads to go for two, that's some straight up Madden shit! I can understand the refs calling Burfict for the head hit even though he led with his shoulder and Brown lowered his head. There was a play similar that Cincy got the raw end of a shoulder led hit. The Shazier hit was head to head. DEFENSIVE coach Joey Porter just being on the field was in fact illegal. Just a sad ending to see a historical cheating franchise ala New England advancing and the media to just blame Vontaze and Jones who are no role models themselves, honestly isn't fair. I blame Jeremy Hill then the refs.
