Discontinued Haze Dual V3

ichibaneye

Vapriot, Traveler & Vaporizer/ing lover!
Hello everyone I've missed this thread immensely even more so my Haze.

It's been great to read about all of the new owners positive experiences. I always new Haze would take off fast. They do their homework and respect and listen to the Haze community's thoughts and idea's.

It's great to be back in the United state's again. Sometimes the military can be a pain. That pain was being away from my Haze and everything that beautiful little device does for me.

I'm about to warm my 2.5 up for the first time in 4 months. Even if the switch is broken. It'll be getting sent in soon. I just need to send Amy a message.

I wanted to say hello to the o.g's. & welcome to the new comers. I'm off to enjoy myself now. It's great to be back. (o;

See you all in a few hours!

Hi all! Been lurking for awhile, trying to decide which vaporizer will be best for me. After MUCH reading and researching (I'm SUPER obsessive when it comes to research...), I've decided on a Haze. Yay! :)

Any tips and tricks for a first time flower vape user would be more than welcome! I'm a lightweight beginner user: advice on how to load (would a small amount be better, or full can and hit/set down?), initial grind consistency, etc? I know there will be a learning curve, and everyone's experience is personal - but anything you could share would be helpful to get me going with minimal waste of product or frustration.

I smoke exclusively at bed time for help with sleep and anxiety. At the moment not comfortable with day use. As I said, I'm a lightweight - a very small bowl of indica and I'm happy and sleepy! Anyway - love the end result, HATE SMOKING IT. Hate it. One small session in the evening is all. At the moment, I hide in my bathroom to smoke and then melt into my bed afterwards! Hoping that maybe a vape will be usable in bed... I can vape my ejuice to cover minimal odors? I don't know about your kids, but my kids will find 57 things that they need to come and tell me after bed time...............

I chose the Haze because of the rave reviews you all give it, the great warranty, apparent ease of use, Scott's obvious passion to help people (I used to work in retail - great customer service is ssooooo priceless!), removable/replaceable batteries, pay it forward program (so awesome!!!!), versatility.... I could keep going but you probably get the picture. I found it on VapeCritic website and came here and you all sold me!

I'm curious about vaping concentrates.... But one hurdle at a time! First I shall learn flowers.

Oh! And leaning towards ordering direct from Haze to make sure I get a v3, and because obviously they're pretty awesome. Yes?

Hopefully that wasn't too rambling - thanks in advance for any advice, and for this great thread!!!

Now all I need to decide is what color....... Ugh.

I ordered one! Ended up ordering from Puffitup (saved $50 that way), feel a little guilty about not going straight through Haze, but gotta watch my pennies. I picked graphite!

So excited... Now, I wait! And frown at my little bubbler.
Just buy your accessories from haze directly. That's what I did and I feel less guilty about getting mine off eBay :p

Welcome back sir! I was kinda wondering where you been! Glad to have you back in action. Well sort of in action. We need to get your unit fixed up. No need to email, just send me PM here and I'll get you going.

There are too many factors to really quantify this one. Material, grind consistency, amount, screen/can type, draw speed/length and temp settings to name a few. However temp is probably the biggest factor and I want to clarify something especially for folks who have owned versions before the V3.

Remember all the changes on the inside of the V3? Well the changes with temperature regulation makes a big difference here. You don't have the big ups and downs in temps from drawing that prior versions (and much of the competition) suffered from. This is a big reason the "clouds" are more consistent on the V3. It also might "feel" a bit warmer so you might have to adjust your preferred temps from what you used to use on your 2.5 or prior. I was never one to use level four much on the V2.5 but with the V3 it's for concentrates only now with my vaping preference. Your mileage may vary based on your own preferences but just understand there is a pretty significant difference in this department when comparing units.

Welcome to the family Kimmers! PIU is authorized so you can be assured warranty coverage.

It looks like everyone else beat me to some of your questions but feel free to PM me with anything else you may need. Thanks for joining us. I hope you enjoy the unit!

My Haze v3 update: This is too lengthy so I'll bottom line it: I like it a lot!

Details if you have the time and interest:

First, all my usage is with cans/silicone lids with shatter and wax - mostly shatter.

Silicone lid preservation? I dunno, but it works for me:

I've been cleaning my silicone lids in a small jar with water and Dawn. Leave them soak with an occasional shake. Similar small jar with EC190 for the cans. The EC190 jar from the cans makes reclaim I use with 13 drops mixed in water. That keeps me asleep after the shatter puts me out and/or seems to extend the high. Anyway, I've not had ANY silicone lids go bad with this cleaning method yet. But then again, I'm probably a pretty light user and my 2.5 may not have been getting as hot as it should have.

My v2.5 is super clean and on the way back to Haze. As I segue to timing, I should mention that my v2.5 was slower than others report so that is known:

Digitally timed to useful - comparo between my old 2.5 and new v3:

v2.5

With the v2.5, I actually had to buy an egg timer and run it 3 to 4 minutes (usually 4) on setting 4 long past solid lights to get significant output. Being a lightweight, a sesh for me was 2 to 3 six to 10 second rips through a PNWB bubbler. I'd get 3 to 5 such sessions out of shatter; 2 to 3 with wax. Setting 3 would work well with wax whereas 4 could be choking for me with wax.

v3.0

With the v3.0, I started out with charged and trusted Haze XL battery as I'd noted faster/bigger performance with the XL's with my 2.5. As others said early in the thread, variations in batteries can make a big difference. I sure agree.

On freshly charged XL, it took 53 seconds for the v3 for 2 lights to come on solid. With shatter, that gave some high and flavor but not the hammer I've come to know and love. 3 is better for shatter just as Scott said. On 3 setting last night being the 2nd sesh on the same charge on the same XL batt, it took 1 minute 25 seconds for 3 to come on solid and puts out good medium Haze clouds.

A major difference from my odd v2.5 to the v3 is that when the lights come on solid, it is ready to go. And I have to be careful because subsequent rips in the same sesh do not dimish as they did greatly with my specific 2.5.

The pro's to me are very significant. I also like the new battery door latch a lot. It is more secure and for me takes less hand strength to get it fully/truly latched shut. Opens about right, too.

Possible cons - not sure yet; input from @scottg402 would be appreciated on these:

With no cans in the ovens, the oven door latches securely only on the lower hook. That's fine with me since it is securely closed and much easier to open. However, with a can in the oven, it takes quite a bit more force to get it to latch shut. I don't hear a click but it is latched securely. Problem or not?

edit: Scott, please disregard the last paragraph above. This is no longer a con. I happened to think I should recheck this after some heat cycles. Good thing I did. I just went and checked and the first 2 sessions of heat have apparently allowed some things to settle. The oven door now opens and closes with appropriate effort both directions and makes 2 clicks for both hooks. One click is louder/sharper than the other and that's just fine with me.

Next, I know there are variations in batteries and units. I saw a video of a 3.0 a few pages back where a can of concentrate took 38 seconds (as I measured it) to get up to 2 lights solid. My q on this is: Are the times I listed (53 seconds for 2 light solid; 1 minute 25 seconds for 3 lights solid - both with the same can of 'trates on 2 nights) within acceptable variation?

Elbow:

Long time readers may recall that I took an oxy/acetylene torch rig and bent a SS mp into an elbow for the 2.5 so I could easily use it with a SonG (I continue to highly recommend the Nu-SonG) and PNWT without spilling 'trates OR bongwater. That has worked out beautifully well. I hope to bend an elbow for the v3 this weekend for the same purpose. One negative: An elbow obviously won't fit inside the Haze unit. The usual quid-pro-quo as in life in general.

I find the 'trates considerably more irritating without the bubbler. That is expected. Mainly, though: Last night with 3 lights just on solid, 3 six second rips of my old standby mk ultra shatter had me in the ozone. Higher than I usually target :freak: but still in the very fun zone. As the premo stone wound down, I slept great. What a precious gift solid sleep is!

I'll time it with my other 3 batteries and report if times differ significantly.

Conclusion:

The v3 is a huge improvement over my 2.5! I'm a hotrodder from way back so in attempts to stay grounded, I try never to say I 'love' a machine. So I'll hold it to this: I'm in lust with my Haze v3! It's like a hotrodded 2.5. :D

Serious thanks to Scott and to Haze!:tup::tup:

Flowers do smell a bit it really depends on what strain you get. If using flowers keep smell down i would recommend using a snuff and sitting by a window. What i do is use shatter and then a CBD oil and there is no smell i just lightly blow it out window. Also loading small amounts of concentrates works really well and isn't to overpowering.

Its been a little bit over a week since I got my pif haze v3. I can't explain how nice it is to have this vape back in the starting line-up. I mainly use the haze as my on the go stealth unit.

I had my farewell sessions with my v2.5 at a rusted root concert, its so convenient to have preloaded cans when in a crowded area. I really enjoyed it and was sad to send it on it its way but knowing it was headed off to a person in need one day made it all worth while. Thank you haze for actually caring.

My new haze v3 was broken in last Friday after work with my gf and I. She was almost as happy as I was to have the haze back. On Wednesday we had to drive 11 hours to Burlington Vermont to take care of some things at a house that my gf parents own but rent out when they dont use it. So this was the perfect opportunity to really put my haze through some cycles!! I packed up my 5 cans and both screens in the haze key chain along with 2 mouth pieces and the tweezers. I charged up my 4 batteries and brought out a herb jyarz and avb jyarz. Now I was all set for the journey!

Since my gf drove her car and wanted to drive the whole way, I enjoyed sitting back and letting her and the haze take me on a ride. I quickly realized the temperatures have been adjusted since I used to just use my cans on 3 and 4 with herb. Now I'm enjoying settings 1 and 2 to start and finishing on 3. My abv is coming out perfectly even and coffee ground dark just how I love it. The new herb lids are a nice improvement they help stay on the can better. I made a keif can and naturally it did spill out the holes a good bit. But I should have thought to put a screen on top then the herb lid, lesson learned... One thing I did notice with the new stainless steel lids for the cans is they seem to leave more resin on the chamber doors lids. This is not anything a little iso and cotton won't handle but seemed to be more than the v2.5 from what I've noticed. My guess is with all the holes in the new lids it allows more surface area exposure. I did also have my chamber door seem to not shut and lock as well but is still in perfect working condition. I just need to make sure I press it fully shut. The battery door was a solid improvement definitely works much smoother. The best improvement to me was the new mouth piece design. To be able to actually carry the mp internal really makes this the perfect vape for me to take on the go.

Now when I see cows just grazing I let them gaze at the haze.

Meditating with the dolly llama and the Haze

Daze in amaze at the great views with the Haze

I wanted this person to see my haze in hopes that maybe they would take me out on the lake in their boat..

I'm extremely happy with all the new improvements made to the v3 and love having this vape back in the mix of life. I can't say thank you enough to @scottg402 for all the dedicated work u put in, and the haze team for taking customer appreciation to the next level. This is a great company with really great people doing even greater things. Thank you guys for the haze and also the pay it forward option.

I get at least 15+ pulls a load, but I keep the temp low, like at 1-2 and finish it off with 3.

So do u really get that much from starting at 1 and finishing at three.i usually start at 2 and end at three. what method do you use the dry herb can or the conduction screen

May I please ask a big favor: can you please give a color supply update? I am almost to Oregon, which means I can start the upgrade process. Do not want to send in, though, if green is out of stock. Thank you!
