RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

Is the glass dropper still 100% clear? I couldn't see through mine when it was new (for the last 6 bottles)... it's better now with some use, but still not clear. I've gone as far as pouring the crap through a coffee filter in effort to remove some of the extra sediment and silica specs, didn't catch all of it.

I agree, you do get what you pay for with this stuff and BCCE is cheap enough for me to consider buying it again... even if it drives me crazy sometimes.

Maybe they changed their methods since I last ordered my supply, it's been a while. Depending on current pricing, I may cross my fingers and order some more soon... I am getting low.

I ordered a single bottle of NACE to eu for around 10 euros from an amazon vendor a few weeks ago. Expensive.

I opened it a few days ago and coming from the BCCE there is no doubt the NACE is far superior, much much better, no deposits, better color (more pink, less brown). You also don't need to put as much as you would put with the BCCE. I'd say the BCCE is worth it only if you get it for like half the price or even less, because the quality of the NACE really is worthy of a few dollars more.

Again, my BCCE purchased from reliable sources (BC themselves or Amazon) kept out of sunlight and stored in a cool cabinet has never been clumpy and stayed completely liquid till empty. The last bottle I got from Amazon a couple weeks ago had an expiration date of 2/2017. I have no doubt that a bottle poorly packaged and shipped in summer and left in the sun or a hot truck could be spoiled and/or clumpy.
And, btw, I shake the bottle every time before opening it in case that matters. :)

Just a heads up for any UK members, I was at Tesco today and found NACE for £8 something a bottle, around the same as online + delivery, but now I don't have to wait as I can get it 5 mins from home and it's still twice the size for half the price of Rezblock.

I am about to order a new rig and was going to order Rez block until I found this thread. Have you guys determined that NACE is the best bang for your buck here?

Its about 25% of the price. just make sure you send your bottle back if its chunky. Both of the companies will replace the product if chunky. Amazon seems to be the best place (in california) though my healthfood shop sells a huge bottle of something they say is the same! ill report back if i ever get through the 3 bottles i got.

I change the water 3x per day prob... ive seen a MASSIVE improvement. The skunky smell mitigated, the resin doesnt build... i cant say a single negative thing other than this new warning that popped up on my friends bottle.

Honestly considering how stupid California is with their cancer warnings (Prop 65) the label could be for the cardboard box itself...

I had been through this thread before because it was fascinating but didn't see a personal need for the extract previously because I clean my Hydratube daily. I finally got tired of the little bit of vapor residue that would build up on the inside of the glass during a day's use, however, obscuring the view of the percolation and the vapor accumulation (which I tend to watch rather obsessively).

I got some RezBlock just to compare for myself (I don't think I had seen Vito's post about confirming that the CE FCers have been using is actually identical to the high-priced RezBlock or I probably wouldn't have bothered at all) to the BCCE I also ordered through Walgreen's online ($2.50/bottle). Both work wonderfully. I still change the water every session (about 3-4 times per day) but can now skip a day or two between iso baths.

One rather counter-intuitive note: I don't always use this stuff when I use the EVO with concentrates, but it has more to do with my vaping and cleaning routines than the performance of the CE with oil. I try and avoid my taps when it comes to my glass due to hard water so I'm rinsing with distilled water from a jug when I change the water so I'm not getting a real thorough hot-water flush. This means that the nuggets of residue that proliferate in just two dabs necessitates an iso bath to get rid of them efficiently. Since I only take those two dabs at the end of the day and clean with iso frequently this seems to work best for me.

(Why did I write so much? Surely no one will read all of this. I'm such a babbler when stoned. Oh well. I'm not deleting it now...)

I did, actually.

I also up the acidity of my water (okay, it's down PH) to reduce mineral deposits and bacterial growth. Just a few crystals of PH Down in the distilled water.

Try boiling up a pot of distilled water for the wash cycle. Works a treat.

@KimDracula I'm sort of under the same mindset you are with this. Cleaning it everyday, I've never had a problem either. It comes squeaky clean everytime with my Orange Chronic Iso Solution! Like you, I just use distilled water as well and there are no hard water deposits from the rinse in this very high Alkaline Southern California tap water! I'm still reading this thread as I'm still curious to give it a try though.

Also, although my EVO is currently being serviced, I wanted to thank you again for turning me onto that previous sale they were having! This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again! :D

@Enchantre That sounds really interesting. I own a 150 gallon cichlid aquarium and I use PH down for my Discus tank that require very acidic water. Just wondering if this stuff is the same ingredients as what you use.

It's probably the same ingredients since they just lower the PH but this is designed for soft water/fresh water fish. If there isn't any live bacteria cultures that seed the biological undergravel filter bed, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work? If you could tell me the name of the product exactly or provide a link, I'd love to compare for shits and giggles!

Thanks!

Well I wanted to come back having been using NACE with my new D020K bubbler, and I cannot believe how well this works.

I wanted to run a trial with and without, so I could judge its effect, so when I first got my bubbler, I did an overnight soak with PBW, rinsed, and then used with just water and not any NACE.

Within two days, gunk started to show stuck to the usual curves in the glassware.

After a week it was pretty minging, so I did another overnight soak with PBW, rinsed, but this time put three drops of NACE in the water, stuck some cleaning bungs in each end, gave it a shake... started to use it.

3 weeks later, and I have just emptied the bong because the water inside was looking rather gunky, but there wasn't a single smudge of anything on any of the glass inside.

I have simply rinsed, refilled with water and NACE, and away I go again.

I am blown away with how well this cranberry extract in the water thing works, who ever came up with this is a genius, or had no water to hand so used cranberry juice and stumbled across these properties.

All the oily / sludgy scum, gets suspended in the water solution and does not stick to the glass, amazing!

I assume this screws those who reclaim, but this is not an issue for me.

NACE is highly recommended, especially having now just read about the rather worrying label on the BCCE package!

Just a few drops I find is best for me. A slight pink color should sufficiently cover it. Just be sure to empty out within a day or so or else you risk yucky bacterial growth.

For anyone in Australia looking to get cranberry extract, I got mine from HERE from a site called iHerb.

They had $5 off your first order so that paid for postage. Ended up being about $13au.

I'm using 5 drops in most of my pieces and doing a water water rinse after the session. They are staying really clean. Very slowly building up some gunk in the inlet/stems but I don't shake my pieces enough to get those parts wet so im not fussed. It has cut down my cleaning dramatically so I don't mind the occasional iso wash.

Alright guys so after some reading I have come to this conclusion, please correct me if I'm wrong.

RezBlock - overpriced and underperformer (found out after purchase :cuss: )
BCCE - Great alternative, cheapest
NACE - Best alternative, most concentrated

As for citric acid, what brand specifically is suggested and how much to use per, say, 2-3 drops of CE? (not sure what to base it off, CE or water)

One last thing, Simple Green/PBW, which is the preferred product and do you have any tips for me to use these for overnight soaks?

Once again I have learned a lot from this group. You guys are awesome and thank you t-dub especially for the time you put towards providing such helpful information.
