In regards to the stems (wands), you can direct draw, but don't recommend it.

I do this occasionally. It's a bit awkward holding the EQ as if it was a Solo, but it definitely works.
It's not that much different from using a solo stem IMHO which I've never used with a whip - eventually the vapour stream gets unpleasantly hot but by then there's little or no vapour unless the herb has gotten hot enough for pyrolysis...
Worth trying at least once - particularly if you're curious about the specific effects of introducing a silicone or pvc whip into the mix.
Agree that the vapour stream eventually gets unpleasantly hot on the tongue - but by then the material and the owner are both pretty much toasted.

DDave includes a piece of paper with the kit and it has some pretty good instructions on it. Similar to what's already out there on the other thread. It's really helpful. I tested it out myself and found my results to be pretty similar to his descriptions.

I ended up putting the whip tube on the outside of the wand like Nugg's setup. I tried putting it inside but the hose kept bending on me unless I put it in the perfect position. Once I put it on the outside, it pretty much kept everything straight.

@DDave , are your wands the same size as the SSVs? I hope so because I bought an extra whip with the ID - 3/8" and the OD - 1/2" like the SSV wands. I like to have the length a little longer and could use an extra whip. Hope it fits. I guess I could've just asked you first before purchasing but that would've been too easy.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
The short piece of hose that's used for filling bags on the EQ gets pretty darn warm when I vape a small amount (.1 - .15 gram) in the cyclone bowl with fan speed 1 ... I'm wondering if the 'food grade high temp silicone hose' that CuckFumbustion mentioned a few posts ago would be a worth while upgrade.

Does anyone know the inner diameter of the EQ's tubing?
@TomC1315, @lazylathe and all Fcers. Two things to consider. With the DDave kit, Everything is closer to the heating element. I never go above 210c with it. 180-190 seems to be the sweet spot. Got results at even lower temps.

With stock EQ parts, higher temps are needed to get the same results and I've experienced the PVC getting soft around the stem of the elbow. (easier way to take the PVC off tho)
Plus the issue of telescoping that much more heat which has to pass through a smaller pinched opening.

The 'food grade high temp silicone hose' comes with most of @DDaves kit and is similar enough to the kind I have been getting on my own. You can get the hose I rec'd if you are sticking to stock parts. But the kit will also allow you to use lower temps and improve the results. Already comes with the proper silicone hose. Path of least resistance. Best bang for your buck.
Plus I've broke 2 EQ elbows and rely on one with my own MOD setup. Hope this helps.

I believe in this case it may not be too early for a @CuckFumbustion arbitrary banana dance!

Woooo thanks alot ddave you have been extremely helpful. Couldn't have asked for better service. This is shaping up to be a good weekend. Got my amnesia and white widow curing nicely, getting better everyday, and got no kids this weekend. So hopefully my weekend will be spent playing with my kit.
There will be no dancing until I see an undamaged kit in front of me. But as long as all is ok there will be dancing. Thanks again for taking time out of your life to chase this up for me. I will update you when it arrives and review.

EQ has landed! Looks like Arizer is stepping up the game a bit....noticed an "all glass" adapter for bag filling is now included, and it appears like the whip tubing has changed....no writing on this one, but you can tell it's different. It might be silicone but I have no way to confirm....there is zero smell, and it's kind of translucent whitish like my other medical grade tubes....it's not as rigid either. Not 100% certain, but this fan sounds a bit quieter than my last EQ.

Burn offs pretty much complete not....still don't like what i'm smelling, but it's time to medicate before the last lawn mow of the year!

Next step - DDave time!

I have to get back to you on sizes and whips.

Glad to help!

Fingers crossed that this is not the first "International Incident"! All other events have been a success!

@biohacker that is terrific news. Perhaps We had an impact towards all that? I know they have continuously upgraded the EQ without changing it to a new type of 'EQ2' over the years.
Always admired that business model. Any other company would try to sell you a 'newer improved version'. They simply treat it as 'business as usual' for the EQ. 'Yea we made some changes, It's an EQ, so that is what we do' .
Many users will buy a new EQ just for the upgrades alone implicitly. Plus you mentioned they decided to add a bag adapter to boot. did see some new parts offered on their website. Please share anything more about any of the changes with the model too. Thanks for posting.

Glad to know I'm not the only one mowing the lawns high as a kite.

My EQ lives in the shed/man cave where it is set up 24/7. It makes yard work a lot more fun.

Actually sitting in the shed now staring at my remote thermometer for the weber :D

Its AFL grand final day here in Australia. If you have never seen Australian Rules Football go check out some clips on YouTube.

I have fired up the EQ for a big afternoon to keep me calm. As a huge Hawks fan this is the chance to go in the history books & I am a bit anxious. Massive vapour rips at 210 through water should alleviate some of my symptoms.

@Stevenski My superviser and my boss are both Hawks fans. I am a Crows man and will be going for the Eagles today.
Good luck!

The hemp fiber filter in my wand is starting to get pretty dirty. Drops of oil are forming. Might be time to change it soon. I love cranking up the temp and vaping the dirty filter. A bit hard on the lungs but a lovely kick in the ass.

Hello vape fiends! Nice to be back...

After nearly 2 years of daily use my Ex Q is still working as well as new, but is really showing how the outer shell and finish of the unit isn't such great quality...

2wptk4x.jpg

I have never dropped or knocked the unit . It has not left my desk. I'm not sure how the paint started coming off. The plastic cap at the top besides looking ugly is obviously made of plastic that can't handle the repeated heating and cooling over time. The same thing has happened to my friend's EQ which was bought at the same time as mine. The paint job can now easily be scraped off with a fingernail. I don't understand why they changed from the nice dark chrome of the V-Tower model.

I love vaping off this machine via all-glass direct draw as seen in my avatar pic (plus a shorter adapter to replace the cyclone bowl aka DDave mod, allows me to vape herb at 190C and get baked without coughing).. It has served me well but I 've grown to dislike the looks and the bright blue screen which is too much in a darkened room for those late night sessions ;)
I absolutely cannot stand blue LEDs.

So it is time for something else. I'm looking at the epicvape e-nano because it will look much nicer in my living room , and I'm into direct draw which means holding the device. The EQ isn't really all that great to hold in your hand because of the metal/plastic and the awkward shape...

A new Arizer desktop model with smarter, more hand-friendly design, better materials and finish, a detachable base, and a more subtly lit screen with colour options is definitely needed!

:hmm:So are hairline cracks forming and perhaps pieces are falling out on their own?
I did chip the top the first one I've RMA'ed by inspecting it. My replacement EQ has been fine. but I avoided having it upside down and have any sort of weight on the cap end.
Otherwise has it has put up with me and my experiments. :science: and I did buy mine from an authorized dealer.

Yes, that's exactly what's happening... I 've never used it upside down or put weight on the cap. It may be that only a particular batch of the EQs have these issues.

It would be awesome if someone could make replacement shells for the EQ made out of wood!

I have the same cracks in mine. I've had mine for a little over 2 years. I have only three cracks and nothing has fallen off yet. But they formed on their own and I believe it was heat related. I heard it pop while I was using it and wasn't sure what it was until I figured out later that the ring was cracking. I don't leave mine out though and I put mine in and out of storage every time I use it. But I'm pretty good with it and don't toss it around. I'm pretty sure it's doing it on it's own.
