Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

To combust with an EVO, I have to pull so slowly that I can count the single bubbles in the HT. It mostly happens when the ELB is packed so much that the drag get worse than Arizer Solo or as you said, when I'm really trying to.
And I never combusted below 2pm.

Well, I think I hit THAT slow because I'm happy to say that my bamboo it's still in one piece. Of course I hit it without waiting it to be heatsoaked and maybe tamped down a little with the flat back of a dabbing tool. I repeated with a tiny bowl just now. If the heater was too hot I'd have combusted, but still no scorching at noon, I'll let you know what happens later. Big thanks to all the fellow Clouders.

The EVO has subtleties and is a very flexible vape,. While that enables the user to fine tune his/her experience in different ways, it also IMO often increases a new user's learning curve. One of the more common posts on this thread is by a new EVO owner who is wrestling with getting his/her technique worked out.

Good to hear that the bamboo is OK. As indicated by the other replies, that is by far the most common reason for the symptoms you described. So the odds are the unit is OK, it's a matter of your becoming familiarized with your unit. Suggestions . . . you want your herb to be suitably dried and the grind to be fluffy. Lightly fill the ELB 1/3-1/2. You can tap the bottom of the ELB to settle the material a bit but you should definitely not pack it at all (the ELB is designed to create a turbulence effect that enables thorough extraction). Try setting your EVO at about 1-2pm, allowing the unit to heat up (the casing at top should be very hot). Take a comfortable steady draw, keeping the air flow just about where the whistle starts. You should get thick tasty vapor, and your ABV should be consistently browned. From there you can experiment to fine tune your technique. If the unit still doesn't seem to be performing correctly, besides inquiring here you can put in a support ticket to VXL; they are very good at coaching and trouble-shooting.

I just tried it using both Chrome and FFox, and it worked. Here is the url:

EDIT: It is apparently still avail from the VXL site. Presumably FLASH30 code works there, too.

Can you click on the Buy Now icon and see if it's blank for you too ?

It appears that FFox is the problem; it fed an "about:blank" url to the spawned page. But it worked fine in Chrome. (Note: I use a Linux workstation, not a Windows PC.)

Looks like you may need to use a different browser. Or - I tried this and it works too - order from the VXL site. At checkout at upper right you can enter the FLASH30 code; it applied the discount for me when I did that.

If this still doesn't work for you, reply back and I'll fire up a PC to see if I can get it to work there.

EDIT: Just tried it on a Windows server. In Chrome, it spawned a VXL site cart in which I could go to check-out and enter the code. Using both FFox and MS Edge (the replacement for IE), got the about:blank page again. However, both those browsers worked ordering directly from the VXL site.

Ok. Don't do what I just did.

My fav HT is in need of cleaning. There was a nice amount of reclaim to be scraped and I was set to go on a cleaning spree once I get the Evolver HT. Last night I found the ELB cap on my seat. How did that...? There was barely anything in the bowl. Looked at my HT and the ABV is all over. All that reclaim? ABV all over.

So not wanting to waste it or wait for evaporating iso I scraped it anyway & put it in the nail. Dialed to 12 and now it smells like my old ashtray full of roaches in here. I didn't think about how down in the bamboo where the nail reaches is hot enough to burn it.

Fuck! Combustion!

At 2/3 o'clock I didn't scorch anything, but I experienced the same blinking lights Pyro did. I switched off a couple of time and then no blinking happened.

Getting my Evo in a few days time , just wondering if that is normal ? Someone mentioned that is just overheating or something- but that can't be great especially for a device that is supposed to run at hot temperatures.Curious when this does happen is it after extended periods of time ? Just want to know what to look out for - had to many vapes die on me.

I have had no sign of combustion or overheating with my EVO, if it gives you some peace of mind. My sessions routinely run a bit long so I often have to toggle the switch after simultaneous red and green blinking lights. and I also finish ELBs off at around 3:00. I've also never seen the blinking green light, so it's I don't think this is something that happens routinely with most units.

@Mangos
Yes it was operating since 1 hour or so. It's very first hour lol. Maybe it was like newborn cries.
After 1 hour heater pointed at 3/4 o'clock (max temp) gave blinking red/green.

Being accustomed to a Crafty and earlier a minivap and their accurate color code, I really don't like when the light is intermittently oscillating between green and red, most likely forever.
Iirc when I had that "we have a problem here" red/green light I was pissed of having that unclear blinking temperature. So I kept topping it up higher and higher always to reach a point where it oscillated forever before (never) going to solid green.

AFAIK, the blinking only occurs (a) when the unit has timed out, toggle the switch to re-set the timer. Or (b) the firmware gets confused as to the correct setting and needs to be re-booted which is the reason for the suggestion to set at noon (or lower), turn off, set at desired setting, turn unit on. (My memory is rusty, don't hold me to this exact sequence but it is close - someone correct me here as reqd please.)

The unit is not overheating.

Good evening everybody ,
Happy EVO user since one month.

@stonemonkey55 mission accomplished ! again ! you broke my (19 year´s) combustion habit with this unit.

I follow this thread for quite a while and could answer all questions I ran into by reading it  very nice.

I bought my glass with the base bomb in mind and saw it gone off sale.
I know where i can still get it but wondering about the flow rating 3 of 5 and if it would fit my personal preference.
Got a HydraHoneycomb and a Pulse glass showerhead ash catcher bubbler nice modular piece.
this one :
Side-680x1024.jpg

they pair up perfectly and I want to hook them both up to a hydrabase.
As the flow rating of the BBomb is just one point below the Honeycomb i wonder if it would make a big difference at all or if it would add a certain amount of draw resistance.
I like the drag of the Honeycomb but it should not be much harder to pull.
So should i go for it or wait for any future hydrabase with a better flow rating?
Any opinions or experience reports would be helpful.

@Seek maybe you could do me a favor and measure how far from the ground (table) the top and bottom end of the female joint on your basebomb is.

Not a native speaker so please don't mind if my sentence look a little weird.

Thanks and Happy Vaping !

Talked to vxh and they said there was a delay on the next shipment of hydra trees so it may be a few days before some of us (myself included)get the tracking. They said before the end of the week for sure !
I asked this morning about a tracking number for my order and was told it would ship out tomorrow at the latest. Ordered on Tuesday.

BoinG: My Hydrabase female joint is 86mm to 113mm froum ground. But I've never seen two identicaly proportioned hydrabases in any two photos. Every piece is unique, so don't count on that, you will be exremely lucky if you get a perfect fit where both bases touch the ground.

I found an interesting EVO trick.

When you are first drawing air through the tube; it takes 5 seconds to "prime" the Rip.

In other words, you aren't really getting vapor for the first 5 seconds until "it starts to flow."

This is a problem for my girlfriend, because it takes her so much air-suction to get the vape to produce, that she's only got a quarter lung capacity left for the actual hit.

My new solution is the blow up a balloon before the rip. I use the balloons output to "prime" the toke. I gently place the balloon around the bottom nipple (air intake) and let it expel it's air up into the bamboo.

That way, when your lips first meet the tube, there's already vape in the chamber and you can take 100% milk into the lungs without having to take that initial draw which takes up a good amount of your overall inhalation capability.

I don't know if it's the temp setting your at hut I get milk right off the bat. As in less then two seconds after I begin inhaling my glass is already beginning to fill with vapor.
