So far I am loving the AC it is amazing but I have a quick question I have not used the 1701 yet I was wondering if it is made for 7.4 or 3.7....im about to order some more coils since my dual coil burnt out (a friend had his finger on my touch top for way to long on accident) which coils are the best the quartz or ceramic and I was also wondering do they fit the 601 if I buy the coil pack from oilvaporizer.com because thats a hell of a deal on a 5 pack
any of the coils on oilvaporizer.com will fit the ac and a few people have said they enjoy the quartz quite a bit as for the 1701 the one included with the ac is 3.7v

The hammer tops have been discontinued for a while and the hammer function was added to the v4 top I'm not sure what warranty options their are for the hammer tops but for 20$ I'd just buy another as your going to end up paying about the same in shipping to send it in for repair

I just don't want a silver top is my only problem and that's the only hammer top left. And I don't see the v4 top listed to purchase separately on the site.

@THC SCIENTIFIC since the hammer top is discontinued can I send my broken one in for a black v4 top ? Or even an older black v3

How are you pros cleaning the kiss carts? Not the globe, but the actual ceramic heating element and ti?

I've been doing burn offs with various degrees of success. There is definitely some carbon or other elements bonded seemingly permanently to the ceramic rod. And the ti only heats up in the middle, leaving the end caps to build up with gunk. Even with meticulous cleaning with a cheap dab tool, I'm able to get the white ceramic bowl pretty clean, but the rod stays gunned. Someone told me I could soak the entire kiss cart, in 99% iso..good idea?

Help would be appreciated.

Also, I use a Kanger esmart Manhattan 300meh battery. I feel like I'm really struggling to get vapor production. I used my old dabbler ego 1000meh battery till its button broke, but even then it wasn't making nice rips. Any suggestions on a good affordable battery that will power the kiss globes a bit more than where I'm at?

Cheers

Cant help with battery, but cleaning solution:

1/3 cup of iso(or ethanol) in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds. Avoid being directly over the glass to avoid alc vapors. Drop cart in boiling iso immediately. Repeat once more with clean iso. Repeat again with full cup of filtered water boiled in microwave. Let it dry overnight or use heat gun if youre inpatient.

Not exactly sure where to put it but I see most of the W9Tech related stuff in this thread; Recently received my Hercules I ordered it was a quick delivery I took some photos here.

I am using it on my IPV D2 which unfortunately only goes up to 7.0v max so I can't reach the .4 which isn't to bad as I can still get decent hits with a nice wattage I tried it on my eVic VTC mini and it works and I can get up to 8.0v with that but once the heat rises to much it just gives me the no atomizer error even though I had resistance locked.

I have it looking nice and almost flush not using the bottom adapter that the teflon heat shield screws to as I have the Herc straight on the 510 to 601 adapter and the heat shield just slides on like a sheath which isn't bad to take on and off.

I love it the taste is there I already have a good technique since I am use to having to pulse and I do cigar puffs to make sure I'm at a good temp and getting vapor production even though I'm .4 under the white rods rated voltage I am still getting good pulls from it.

Now just hurry up and release those mods your working on; or hopefully there might be a sale coming soon for the holidays so I can get a Persei and a core or something since I am using the Hercules as a desktop unit basically.

Can the hammer rods be rebuilt? I have one that's in great shape, just quit working one day. If I can rebuild it somehow, I totally might use the Bender again. My hammer top and my Bender have been sidelined due to no working rods

I do a method I saw @SamuraiSam post awhile ago. I get a ziploc bag, put the cart in the corner, fill it until the cart is submerged with some extra, seal it and twist it up so it stays in the corner with the iso. Microwave a cup of water for 30 seconds, put the bag in with a plate over it. I used to just soak it in a shot glass of iso, but warm iso works a whole lot better and just using the corner of the ziploc bag saves on iso a little. If there's a lot of burnt black crap or spots in the cup I use something to scrape at it and agitate it and soak some more. I don't think it's ever as good as that first run though. I've started using this method to clean other stuff like my arizer stems too. Also I use 91% iso, I've never seen 99% in a store.

Edit: I just microwave the water, not the iso.

99% exists at vons in CA... 97% at rite aid or 91% albertsons/haggens

Some thoughts on cleaning after my after work dab... Rosin's got me in the mood to write...

@StormyPinkness That's very close to what I do except I refuse to put alcohol into my microwave. If medicated and I accidentally put it in for 10x the amount of time it could cause a fire..

I use a sealed ziploc bag for 2 reasons. One, it significantly reduces the amount of isopropyl needed for a single wash. Due to the alcohol becoming diluted with oil you'll have increased effectiveness by using less iso per wash and more washes: more cleaning power out of 5 washes with 30mL each than you'd have with 3 washes of 50mL each.

Second, sealing the bag means I can use hot water to transfer heat into the ISO. I've recommended placing a ziploc with your iso soaking parts into a bowl in your kitchen sink and using hot tap water before.

My tea drinking habit has since led to me to expand on this technique. I use the hot sink water to get things warm, but I now live in a house with a pretty low hot water temp.

So I boil some water with a tea kettle and let it cool a bit to make and steep my tea. I'll use the kettle as a reservoir of hot (not boiling) water to pour into the bowl with my ziploc iso-bag of vape parts and you better watch out- if you use water that's too hot you'll find yourself conducting a little science experiment: Due to the lower boiling point of the alcohol you can actually-accidentally boil the alcohol with this sous-vide heating trick. Sooooo watch the water temperature and don't go hotter than necessary. But use a sealed bag to contain things just in case. It's kinda crazy to watch inside that sealed bag.

/medicated science experiments brought to you by rosin rips off 7.4V 1701

This gets the iso as hot as possible and makes it as effective at possible at dissolving oils out of your cartridges. I use a new ziploc sandwich bag (not the expensive freezer bags) after the second or 3rd iso rinse since the bag holds a lot of residue.

I rinse my parts in distilled water and let them dry!

99% alcohol is often available at supermarkets in higher concentrations then drugstores- I don't know why but this is true in multiple states. I get distilled water from the supermarket too, it's cheap enough to keep a gallon around. Distilled water has no minerals to buildup on your heating wire or wick.

99% is also commonly available at farmer's supply and feed stores, often in gallons for pretty cheap.

You can purchase some from Amazon.
You're right, I'd be careful of knock offs though. I see a lot of reviews complaining about unsealed bottles and not getting the same brand or what was pictured. I'd make sure to order from the manufacturer or a highly rated seller. Swan is a good brand that makes and sells there.

I think I'd skip Amazon. I just paid $1.59 for 99% Swan at Fred Meyer. Pretty sure the equivalent at Amazon was over $7. (Unless I'm wrong about the size from Meyer).

Problem comes in, none of the stores that stock 99% seem to be in my area. In TX, I can find 91% without issue, but don't think I've ever seen 99% in store.

Nice!; This isn't a major request seeing as how I just got the Hercules and I LOVE IT so far but could I possibly work something out with you over email/message so I can get an order form for just the bottom for my AC I still have the atomizers (minus the 1701) and the metal top cap but just not the base since it isn't an official listing on the website.

I'd hate to have to spend the 60$ for the whole kit again when I just need the base and another 1701 atomizer.

thats the thing we dont have any spare bases, we have to tear open a kit and we are not able to do that. If one does come by it might be used so you can check back with us in a few weeks see if we have one, you need a 510 or a 601?

Just a 510, and yeah I figured that in my mind just didn't know if a spare one had came across like I said though it's no rush and I'd hate to feel like I'm pestering I am loving my Herc I just also loved the versatility of the AC as well and I was able to use TC with some of the atomizers on my mods.

I apologize and like I said not trying to inconvenience or anything like that.

No apology needed, not pestering or inconvenience at all, we help where we can.

Just check in with us end of October and we'll check and see if we have any.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I can find directions on how to use a multi meter to check ohms on the herc? I have a harbor freight multi meter. I'm having Hercules sr-74 x issues.

the meter would have to digital and you would put the negative terminal on the treads and the positive on the bottom screw contact

Thanks for this.
Do you think you could explain to me which one is 3.7 and 7.4?
Thanks for your help
0.8Ω for use around 3.7V and 1.5Ω for use around 7.4V

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I can find directions on how to use a multi meter to check ohms on the herc? I have a harbor freight multi meter. I'm having Hercules sr-74 x issues.

Step 1 take the meter and turn the dial to the Ohm setting or Ω

Touch your leads together and if the meter displays anything besides 0.0 write it down and set this number aside for later. This would be the inherent resistance of the leads.

Step 2 take the cartridge and check out the part where it threads into the Persei. You'll need to probe the center post of the cartridge with the red lead, and apply the black lead to the threading of the Hercules.

Step 3 If you had a measurement earlier, you need to subtract it from the measured value. Subtract the inherent resistance if necessary from this number to get the resistance of the cartridge.

The resistance value measured here should be about the same as the resistance of the ceramic rod measured between the two contact points; it's about 2.1Ω for the SR-74x (2.3Ω for the SR-74 and 1.5 for SR-71). Plus or minus two tenths an ohm on a good meter.

Example: Say you measured 0.3Ω on your leads and 2.5Ω on the Herc. 2.5-.3 is 2.2 ohms, which is well within range on a SR-74/74x.

Just tried out the quartz dual coil and although not as tasty as black ceramic, it has a better battery efficiency. Is the wire different gauge? Different resistance value?

Just bought my second Hercules. I keep looking for the next big thing, but nothing beats the Hercules. Can't wait til that box mod for the Hercules comes out. Please make it compatible with the Core. I hate batteries.
