spliffin Oil Cart

Just wondering if anyone has tried the spliffin oil cart from http://www.spliffin.com/hardware/? I picked up a spliffin pre-filled cart from a local dispensary and I can vouch for the quality of taste and vapor (wickless), but unfortunately the cart came apart in my pocket yesterday and it was not pretty. For ease of loading, it has a glass component that is detachable from the cart, so it may just be a cart that doesn't want to be moved around much. But am going to check with manufacturer to see if the empty carts they sell @ their website is identical to the pre-filled ones.

Randomly picked one of these up today - was shocked at how pronounced the flavor was for a solventless product... They must be adding the terpines back in. Budtender swore by them and they had 20 other carts available, said they are the least prone to leaking and taste the best, one day into it I tend to agree. Definitely not cheap though at $45 for .5Grams

$36 for .5 in Oakland @ THC. The upper and lower ends of the cart are only a press fit with O-rings (at least on mine), so a lot of movement in a pocket can jar them loose. Certainly not as pocketproof as the gotvapes sapphire type cart. But yeah, great flavor and vapor. Hoping the manufacturer can confirm whether their empty carts are built the same..

I paid $35 for a prefilled .5 of their Jack (clear plastic cartridge with shiny metal mouthpiece) from my dispensary. I didn't like the flavor (had an extra pine flavor added that was overwhelming and harsh on the throat). I didn't have issues with leaking, just screw the mouthpiece down tight often.

It was obviously fairly concentrated (too much for me), so it went too fast for the price IMO. Each hit was more than necessary for me. I melted some concentrate at my own preferred concentration in PG/VG mix and I've refilled it myself 3 times now. The cartridge is still working fine.

I'd buy these (and other similar prefilled brands) if I was in a pinch or hurry I guess. But otherwise, I'm preferring melting my own and filling this and other tanks. I like being more in control of the concentration level so I can manage how fast I consume it. I think these commercial prefills will all be over-concentrated so people think they're "STRONG!" and therefor good and keep buying them. I'm a cheapo. ;)

**EDIT: I also prefer flavoring it myself. Maybe their other flavors are nice but that Jack really turned me off.

Agree this is the best pre filled cart I have tried, and even gives my self filled Pure Gold carts a run for their money (I fill with ampules) .... Wondering if anybody knows what kind of cartridge spliffin is using? The generic manufacturer model of the below:

I am new to using ecig type devices for THC. But this CART got me thinking about it. My guess is that the atomizer is an ASPIRE BVC given its flavor and how it operates, and the reviews I have seen of the BVC. The tank may be a proprietary clearomizer tank built by aspire or some other company, but I think the tank itself sucks. It comes apart way too easy.

I don't believe that the empty Spliffin Carts that they sell at their website are the same ones, but they have been out of stock for ~ a week now. So I ordered an ASPIRE mini epen clearomizer and BVC atomizers from another company this morning and looking forward to trying them. An Aspire K1 has the BVC atomizer as standard.

btw I took apart the Spliffin cart I got at the dispensary. The clear part of the tank is actually plastic and it does have a wick inside the atomizer.

I think Spliffin carts are a ridiculous ripoff. I bought a FlavRx at my local dispensary, and loved loved loved it. When I went back for more, the budtender talked me into trying Spliffins. They are nowhere: unpleasant to the taste and not very potent. I had two of their Sat strains (Jack H and something else) and I sat around wondering, where's the high?
As to their tendency to come apart, I just discovered this myself. I decided to dismantle the carts and put the oil into one of my cartomizers -- metal tanks, in other words -- that opens from the bottom. To my amazement, the Spliffin carts were dripping into my tank within two minutes! When carts are not very strong or when I have too many of them, I prefer to empty them into the tanks -- less hassle.
Anyone else not a Spliffin fan?
I have had budtenders tell me Gold Carts are "crap" -- but they work for me. I have had them swear up and down that honey oil is not weak and wimpy -- and yet it always is. I bought "midshelf" wax last week and, guess what, it was just as good as the " topshelf."
Hype is everywhere. We are still at the dawn of the era of choice in THC ingestion. Sometimes I feel like an automobile customer in 1915 being told, yup, the Stanley Steamer is the car of the future!
For what it's worth, I keep my wax in black boxes, and I wrap black electrical tape around every cartridge I get. I'm in SoCal, and the heat is deadly to oils -- as anyone who's tried to vape those icky, semi-solid strands knows by now.

@kiliwia to each their own I guess. i have to say I found the Spliffin Tangie to be among the most potent and best flavored of all pre filled tanks available. I have also gone through 2 now without any issues with the cart, if anything these carts make the O-pen style carts look flimsy and cheap. I am also a HUGE fan of the Pure Gold, I just prefer to buy the ampules so I can put the oil into a better cart than what Tetra uses for their Gold Carts. Now one of the main reasons I find Spliffin to be great is they do the same thing that Tetra does for their gold products - they add back in terpenes which add that sort of orangey citrus flavor (the Spliffin Tangie has this, tangie being tangerine dream but that's the only flavor I've tried thus far). I find the terpenes enhances everything, from flavor to highness level to length of medication. For that reason I have Tetralabs Pure Gold as my single most favorite oil out there, with Spliffin hot on it's heels since I don't have to fill my own cart to get a top notch experience as I do with Pure Gold ampules instead of Gold Carts (which leak and clog, neither of which I've ever experienced on a Spllifin).

So how are you liking your Aspire K-1?? It definitely passes the eyeball test in that it looks very similar to the excellent spliffin carts... But it seems they are EGO and need a 510 connector but if I remember correctly the spliffin did NOT need an Ego to 510 connection... It came 510 threaded. Also the K1 has a Pyrex glass tank whereas somebody on thread mentioned Spliffin was actually plastic...

Did the aspire hit well? Did the BVC atomizer have the hidden wick in the bottom holes like the Spliffin?

Another good looking cheap cart that reminded me of these (but clearly isn't identical) was

http://www.smoktek.com/Kanger-E-smart-Bottom-Changeable-Coil-Clearomizer-18-ohm-_p_1116.html

Pretty cheap and already 510 threaded. Any chance Spliffin might be using some variation on the above you think?

I am in Southern California and have been buying and trying every vape cartridge I come across. One day I found one called Royal Concentrates and man, I finally found THE one! It was clear gold, thick, didn't run like an oil. I could get 3 weeks out of this 1g, strain specific cartridge and the THC ranged from 76-86%. I got blasted! So, seeing as they were lightly distributed down here, I searched and found a contact, long story short, I got the entire county as the rep and we started rolling. All legit sales per current law. Then the lab shut down on us and we had no plan B.

Today we've almost got things back and running. Product went to lab for testing, as all our cartridges do.
We refine it more than anyone in the market today, we don't add anything to the final product BUT.....terpenes. THC and terpenes, that's it. WHY add the terpenes back in? Because if you don't you'd have a flavorless product.
Terpenes are destroyed in the process of making the sap, it's inevitable. We make the exact formula of each strain. So for instance, when Kush OG is broken down in the lab, what makes up the smell and taste of that specific strain are natural chemical compounds & essential oils. Names like Myrcene (woody/earthy/musk) and Limonene (lemon/citrus) are just two of many different terpenes. You want these in your final product, trust me.

Back to other carts. Almost 80% of the cartridges now are essentially the same crap. Brownish runny oil, hashy/spice flavor undertones, company makes "pure" claim, doesn't give test results, doesn't tell you actual THC content, there's a lot of people making these and everyone is stopping short of what we are doing. I have tried several in between having ours available then not....and right now I am smoking SPLIFFIN. These are the closest things to our product I have seen so far. Three carts, no leaks, great hits, taste like the strain does, and at 70% they are strong enough for a seasoned vet like me (42 yr old). I'd buy them if I can't buy mine.

Vaping is the most stealth way to medicate ANYWHERE, and I mean ANYWHERE. Doctors, lawyers, professionals who smoke are not carrying around a pipe and lighter. This is the future of Marijuana, and we want to lead the way starting over in 2016!
Coming January 2016....message me for details if you are interested.

I stopped buying store carts a long time ago. They're way overpriced and go too fast. I just buy concentrates, make my own juice by easily dissolving them in terpene enriched solutions, then fill my proper pyrex glass vape gear with it. It's very simple.

These pre-packaged store carts are like buying $15 bar cocktails. It's worse than street prices.

That's great, but many of us don't have the expertise or inclination to "make [our] own juice." I wouldn't have a clue about where to find or make a "terpene enriched solution" -- even if I wanted to fool around with that stuff in my house, which I don't.

I agree that with pre-packaged carts, we are paying for convenience.. yet that is the way of the world today, isn't it? We could all make our own healthful, inexpensive lunches and brown-bag it to work every day ... yet most people don't. We could chop and rise our own vegetables instead of buying them pre-cut and pre-packaged ... yet the prospect of shaving ten minutes off the dinner-making process is too appealing to pass up, for many folks. Personally, I don't think English teachers and writers with no scientific background or skills should be messing with terpene solutions -- which is why I buy carts.

On the other hand, and O/T, I've been seeing these "moon rock" strains sold everywhere in SoCal for outrageous prices. It's not exactly high tech to take an ordinary bud, roll it in kif (inexpensive and potent) maybe dab a bit of oil on it or rub some wax on it and -- presto -- there's some fancy material that can be put in a Pax (my choice) or smoked.

As for buying the Pure Gold squeeze-it-yourself drops, anyone who's ever ended up with expensive oil on their fingers, clothes, or table will tell you that is a bridge too far. I love the nice black oil that you find in syringes here and there -- but the mess is godawful. Not all of us have the perfect hand-eye coordination needed to fully utilize that stuff.

I can't speak for others, but some of us who have been doing this for forty-plus years have more money than time at this point.

I can see how it could appear that way, but I'm 44 and I can assure you it's simpler than making coffee. You can do it! The ingredients are more easily available by the day (I would not be surprised to see shops selling mixing juice soon, there's also a huge thread here with lots of helpful info and people to answer questions).

Stir a chip of wax with some drops of juice in a shot glass, then fill your vape tank with an eye dropper. Not much different from topping a normal vape tank with normal nic juice (which millions of people do every day). I can vouch that there's less dexterity required than rolling a joint. (and way easier than dealing with syringes of gooey oil)

Anyway, not preaching here (I participate in plenty of waste consumption just living in America). I do feel it's worth sharing an easy, viable alternative when it's out there and available to everyone. The most waste buying pot used to incur was a plastic baggie, now we're talking about a constant flow of disposable metal and plastic from china. Something to think about as cannabis production explodes into the legal, recreational market.

Pretty sure they are using Smoktek E-slims like these
https://www.misthub.com/product/smoktech-e-slim-bottom-coil-clearomizer/

I have used them before, prefilled and bought empty, and found them to be pretty good initially, but I had the seals give out a few times and either leak or just come apart randomly. I would say they are better for the attentive, careful type who don't mind regular inspections lol.
