Oh I'm sure many many will...

Yeah single block of wood, the door and lid must be cut separately, but I believe they all still match, unless a lid or door is damaged I suppose. Not worth scrapping the rest for it
If you watch the Haas at work, you can see that when the area that the lid is going to fit onto is cut, that cutting tool just goes back and forth milling it away. The lid does not appear to be made in that process shown.

Ah, could be a way to make em all fit together better. In which case I would have to endorse it for smooth production units, as Ziggy Sawdust fits lovingly uneven despite his character

There's quite a lot of backstory and history regarding the lid and whether or not it's made separately or as a matched grain piece. It was discussed ad nauseam and this way won. Yes it is a compromise vs. same block grain match, but we think it is a worthwhile compromise based on the current manufacturing approach.

We will have a much tighter seam this way, saw kerf killed being able to exactly match anyway.

The body/lid will be made separately then best-matched by eye and once paired up, all the edge routing and finish sanding will be done on the pair to make a perfect 'unique' fit for each unit.

In the very, very near future people are going to become one with their Zion's.
This is 'Zion I'.

I haven't jumped on board the Zion Train.
Er dude, I'm not sure what you've been looking at but believe me, you are chugging down this hypnotic track right along with us!

It's all ZionTech after all.

And speaking of Zion Train . . . . turn this one up and prepare for lift off peoples
Ahhh soaring high :)

If I may paraphrase a little, forgive me Mr Daltry:
"Zion can surely take the mind
Where minds can't usually go
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know"

Hey, I wonder now that they have shut down if there is a way to use this...

Admittedly I haven't gone through each and every page of this thread but the Zion seems more appealing to me now than the GH I mean I love the look of the thing and it's super stealthy but all the talk of hot back ends and failing units etc so my heads being turned to this little beauty, few Q'S however

Any idea when your looking to do international shipping? I'm in the uk.
Can you do whole flowers or is grinding essential?
We in the uk have access to 18650 batteries for the most part they ok?
When can we expect to see a single battery more stealthy version?

Not sure on international shipping. I had thought I heard something about them being willing to still go in on that for the initial runs of the dual powerhouse and single battery version they will be trying to release Nov/Dec time, but I'm certainly not 100% on that.

People have said you could throw a nug in, rip it a bit, then stir once or twice to break it up for finishing.

The zion is designed to be used with any high amp 18650 (I think), but for best performance, you probably want the same sort of batteries RBT are selling.

This is what you are looking for in regards to single battery stealthy version:

October has 31 days. Just saying. Patience is a virtue grasshopper, er I mean Zion'er.
Yeah October has 31 days in it but the rbt website says shipping starts October 2nd. I'm just hoping shipping really does start tomorrow unlike other companies who's shipping times keep getting pushed back.

Edit: I just rechecked the rbt site and now it just says shipping in October but I know just a couple days ago it said October 2nd shipping starts.

I did it. I bought a Zion. I wanted to try using paypal, but now I feel like I am regretting it. I've never used paypal before, so I don't really trust it. I created an account just for this purchase and may delete it later.
To make matters worse, the way the whole RBT website is set up is very confusing. For the regular Zion, I had to specify special instructions for shipping outside the US despite being in the US: I submitted "Will not let me purchase without filling this out. I am in the US." I wanted to buy a longer stem in my original purchase, but it wouldn't let me and wanted me to specify a non-us country to ship it to. It wouldn't let me add it to my original cart so I haven't added it yet. Also, after my purchase was reported to have gone through, my shopping cart still isn't empty.

I'm actually pretty frustrated over this whole thing between the rigmarole of dealing with paypal and the purchasing process on the RBT site.

@RastaBuddhaTao decided to change his shipping schedule slightly so that the first production units would go to beta testers so they could make sure the final design was right. He's also planning to ship in small lots at first, so patience is requested. I'm not sure how fast units will go out, but trust me, he's more eager than anyone to get them into the hands of customers.

These things will sell themselves once people get them and start posting about their experiences. This is something I knew from the first day with Jessica. My concern has always been that the waiting customers would get as squirrelly as we've seen happen to other infamous threads. Please let's not have that in here. I hate shipping discussion threads.

My concern has always been that the waiting customers would get as squirrelly as we've seen happen to other infamous threads.
The problem is that in those other threads, users who have gotten their units are having to return them for one reason or another. Waiting for months at a time for something that several people are having problems with is not reassuring.
I'm already getting squirrelly over my purchase because of the several bad experiences I have been accumulating while trying to get a new portable. So far, I remain hopeful that the Zion will make it all worth it. It looks like it has what I want.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is reassuring.

This. I am very excited to review a new vaporizer and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I was just hoping the new beta tester units would start to ship tomorrow or Monday!!
