I thought I would interject here. So you guys are correct, if they rip us off on our design, most likely we have very little recourse since they are in China. We don't have the resources or money to deal with it. What it does do to us is that it stifles innovation and hurts companies like ours that are actually doing something different and trying to do everything in the US. As the consumer, you probably don't give a shit and just want the most cost effective thing, I get it, but I don't operate that way. In the end, you guys are free to do whatever you want, just know in the end that it hurts small companies like mine.

I will say that this differs from the other knockoffs in that there is absolutely no other use for a Hydratube than to sit on top of an EVO. That's what it was designed for and what was patented. It was a new enough design that was different enough from the previous art for it to be granted to us. We can split hairs and semantics all we want but there would be no Hydratube design to copy if there were no EVO so it is very specifically proprietary to us.
Nah, the SSFG Hydratube sits just fine atop my Mighty w/ MuzzMod. I just don't think it's a good idea because water can leak into the device. That's why I use a Matrix Ion instead.

From a philosophical perspective I'm not really down with patents where prior art exists (or innovation is minimal) and little resources are expended in development. Honestly, glass is primarily a commodity. The world continues to shrink and the global economy is just beginning to flex its muscles. Perhaps trite, but those that fight it will be left behind.

I loved my OG Cloud back in the day but prefer the precise heating control of the new Mighty. Also, the latter is much more portable and hits like a dream.

Thoughts on Differentiation
Precise, digital heating controls. User replaceable batteries and upgradeable firmware. Mobile integration w/ software that automatically sets the temperature to the herb you're vaping. Fuzzy logic sensors can determine when heat should be stepped up or the user can set their own routines. Extending this, the VXL community could share their own routines and vote on faves.

Imagine if separate chambers stored herb and AVB. When the herb is cashed, the vaporizer could empty the heating chamber into the AVB chamber and automatically refill the heating chamber w/ fresh herb.

These and other means to differentiate your core product are out there. VXL is pretty savvy and I'm cheering SM and the team on take VXL ever higher!

Anyone else have credit info stolen and used recently after a Dhgate purchase?

Not sure if they have anything to do with it but just had to cancel my cc after a few k fraudulent charge a day after my purchase. Prepay cards for DH purchases from here on out. Hearing similar stories from a couple others but could be coincidence...

This has been reported in the past by other users. I don't know if it's DHgate or someone intercepting the charge. But most people like to either use a prepaid visa card, or I like to use Skrill.com to make payments on Dhgate.

Previously I had used my CC to pay for several items on DHgate without any issue, but after having some problems getting a payment to go through the 5th time around, I decided to switch to a Skrill.com account, which has been working great ever since.

Just realized I never paid for my FC-MOD :\
So I've paid for it now, should have it in a couple of days

I got a spare showerhead, I'm thinking I'll mostly use it with dual showerheads.

I've never had an issue with my CC on dhgate, but I get an SMS with a code to approve every purchase through DHGate, so I guess that's keeping me safe...

Sent jane an email about the matrix sitting on the bottom of the can and altering the function totally..she said to send picture..i mean looking at mine and their pic on site..mine is slanted because it catches on bottom of can..its so weird when hitting it..u can see the vapor almost going straight into mp from the ash catcher..and that could be design flaw but when i get the downstem posiyioned correctly then it greatly improves function..

Classic Steven QC, perfect as usual

Much as I want the FC-Mod, I'm going to wait until another vendor like CleanClearGlass or Sunshinestore releases a similar version, or hell maybe I'll just save up and buy the OG Devistator . I'm done with their games, too many poor quality pieces compared to any other vendor I've dealt with.

I wish we could start a running tally of how many pieces we've ordered from the big-name vendors, and how many actually arrived in satisfactory condition.

Can someone tell me the difference between the D020 and the D020--D?

D020 has 10 slits around a showerhead. The D020-D is slightly larger and has a matrix perc which provides more diffusion than the original D020.

If you're looking at the D020-D, I suggest you consider the GB-187 or the GB-187-S from Yingmin5 - it's a similar piece, but better build quality in my opinion. (Although Sunshinestore and Yingmin5 are both two of my favorite vendors on DHgate currently)

This one? http://m.dhgate.com/product/nectar-collector-kit-glass-bong-bubbler-glass/255410695.html#s2-15-1

If so, I just ordered one and it's shipped but still awhile out. I will gladly give a review and video if it's worth it. I ordered three different kinds on Sunday, and posted the links recently if you look at my history.

thank you , i did mean the one being made by Steven. I actually sent them a message regarding the hydro tube but a lady named Jane answered and was kind of clueless to what i was talking about.

Ah, I see. I am interested in that too, but from the previous posts I was thinking it might be a bit before those are available. If you get any new info keep us updated.

This made me realize, Stonemonkey55 said the hydratube design was only for the cloud, but what about nectar collectors :/ aren't they essentially hydratubes?

I'm also excited for the hydratube release, if that wasn't painfully obvious by now XD

The recycler concept is cool but it has the same issue that the original vapexhale hydratube recycler had, the perc is waaayy too low for it to properly recycle without having to fill way too much water into it causing massive chuggyness.

I am pretty torn about this issue. I think SM55 has some good points, but I also hate our patent system...which is not the fault of sm55 who is just playing by the existing rules. I see both sides of the coin on this one. I'm pretty much with you though, they all seem like hydrotubes to me.

The recycler style doesn't really do it for me (if you meant the one I linked) but I liked the extra height that one offered. If it simply works as a hydrotube without the recycling effect, I'll be happy. I haven't bought anything new in awhile, and I have the Zion coming at some point, so I'm on a bit of a buying/trying spree.

I think he was possibly saying this to try and protect his company. The hydro tubes can be used for a # of things .

Do you mind me asking what you paid ?I just clicked on the two showerhead option and it bumped the price from 11 to 56. Is that right?and if I do the 1 showerhead option does that mean it will only come with one downstem aka the showerhead ?Thanks

Yeah, I think that joint is 22mm??? I've seen that on a few, and like the idea, but not a very universal joint.

@MichaelCompton mine did the same thing when I added it to the cart. $56.82 with matrix and showerhead. I didn't try it with one head only but assumed, yes, you would only get one. I don't mind the $56 but I'm concerned about qc and waiting.

(Sorry mods, can you combine these) Modnote: Apology accepted, posts merged.

Same here. I would jump all over it if It stayed at 11. Don't get why the steep increase because of one downstem. ..I may buy it as one and then buy another downstem at a heads hop if it only comes with one.

So I was just looking at Kathy0577's store and saw a couple new pieces, including this new (to me at least) mini straight fab:

http://m.dhgate.com/product/10inches-glass-bong-circulating-water-glass/249740038.html#pd-019

It looks pretty nice with the perc very close to the fab section, but I don't know about the three slit stemline... I like a smooth, low drag pull. Would this fit the bill?
I'd recommend the GB-194-1 instead, it's exactly what you want in that it is extremely smooth but without drag. The fab you linked to may be a bit chuggy due to the downward perc.

Now I'm confused, and just a little baked so bear with me. I was assuming just the stem was $11. Are you saying the whole thing is $11 if you don't get the matrix stem?
