Underdog Log Vapes

Brainpain

Seeking a happy mellow since 2012
I'm so excited, and shocked at myself at the same time. I'm not generally an impulse buyer, but I happened on a review for the Underdog Log Vapes and fell in love. They are gorgeous! Being not of high income, I went with the Econodog in beech and ordered some of the oils to go with it for using as an oil diffuser when I'm not using it as a vape. Currently I have a K-Vape Micro DX, which I really like. However it clogs easily and when I need relief.

I'm a total dork n00b when it comes to weed. Never smoked in high school, and only once in college and I literally didn't inhale, I've since figured out. It did nothing for me at the time. I live in Washington so started with my medical card a few years ago in an effort to find some pain relief for chronic daily headaches that are leftover from a subarachnoid hemorrhage I had in Jan 2012. Just one, long, never ending headache. The pot definitely helps like nothing else does. I don't use any other pain relievers because they don't and my neurologist and I don't want to risk rebound headaches or potential addiction issues.

I've tried bongs; great for fast delivery, but my small one isn't smooth enough, and GLORIA (my big girl bong) is overkill. I have a pipe, which is fast and easy but I hate the smoke and coughing doesn't feel great on the head. The Pen vape is great. I also use tincture which sometimes helps, and edibles which definitely help, but take time. I use the weed to get relief while the edibles kick in. I usually make my own edibles.

I've experimented with a Lot of strains because I'm a nerd and have to study everything. Some are amazing and help so much. Others are just fun, but not a lot of help. Others actually make it worse, which is sad. I only wish I could find something that would work and not impair me for teaching. They do tend to frown upon that. The tincture can take the edge off, but I still don't like to use it, so I generally use topical so during that time.

Excited to learn more about this new vape once I get it. I have no idea how to use it.

Hey y'all! Literally just came from reddit trees & vaporents to talk about the underdog and found a kickass community here! Damn, I'll frequent this sub, I know!

So I was looking for a vape to use at home with my wife. We're purely joint smokers with no interest in glassware.. I started looking into vapes and was considering arizer air, grasshopper or a log vape (UD or nano).. The vape has to look good for my wife to use it as she's a fan of joints, and the log vapes definitely peaked her interest.

Going between UD and Nano, I think I finally made my decision to go with UD... Lifetime warranty through FC forum, pricing and the number of stems it comes with it, made my decision easier :)

I have a Bamboo UD with 4 thick glass stems in my cart now, with the UDFS coupon code.. I'll be pulling the trigger any day now!!! I doubt we'll be utilizing any glassware any time soon, so I'm ordering multiple glass stems as backups when one of them breaks..

Just waiting for a gift card that I'll be receiving from work... The second I have it in my hands, which should be this week, order will be placed, and I'll join the pack here.

Good to be here!

Welcome @Brainpain and @mruj ! Feel free to ask any and all questions. We are here to help! I think you both will thoroughly enjoy your pups!:wave:

Thank you @Madcap79 ! I think one thing I'm curious about is, how durable the thick class stems are? I'll be ordering 4 just to have backup (we won't be using a bubbler or anything like that)... Should I order 1-2 nylon stems instead? Do they hit differently?

Thanks in advance!

Nylon = 1 hitter. Taste bomb every-time
glass stems = 4-5 dwindling taste hits (Great to Popcorn {spent}
All glass breaks. ALL. That being said I have never broke any yet.

Perfect, thanks! In our sessions with the wife, she usually takes 2-3 hits tops from the joint, and she'll be baked.. For me, I have a higher tolerance, where I'll need 6-7 hits to get to [7-8]... I can probably fill the glass stem with little more to have more hits? or do I get way more vapor in 1 hit with the UD compared to the joint?

Vape vs joint is night and day. Wife will be happy with one or 2 hits. (.0 something or other in nylon) You will get more from less. I can't see your joints. I am a grower and most folks shit when they saw (past tense) a doobie of mine. It is all about you have receptors for THC in body. When smoking 80% of smoke is trash. When vaping it is all just the good stuff. One hit is 5x more exposure to goodies. (Not a scientific fact but rather a teaching point, anonymously on Internet, Your Mileage May Vary) And next you learn about varying temps melt into vapor different compounds for different effects. Oh what a joyous education!

Yummmmm :) That sounds super duper.. our joints are small to be honest.. I mean, an 1/8th lasts us around 3 weeks and we smoke 3-4 times a week.. so it's like 10 joints out of 3.5gr = 0.35gr per joint... And per joint, around 8-9 hits.. so each of our hit is at around 0.4gr.. what a joyous learning! :)

Size matters! Because I get 4-5 hits on a half filled "bowl" using the DD glass stems. I have low lung capacity thanks to allergies and asthma, though, and tend not to use full breath for draw. I just wanted to say something, though, because it is easy to forget that one person's hit is another person's sip.

@mruj - I was told the nylon is a hotter hit than the glass, just FYI. I bought one but have never used it, because I generally prefer cooler hits and once I move and my baby bong is unpacked, I plan on using the GonG I bought to cool the hits even more.

On another note - I have been loving using this as an oil diffuser. Local store had a sale on essential oils and I bought rosemary and sage, as well as some beeswax beads (teeny tiny beads) to add in to prevent spills. So refreshing!

Loving my pretty teak dog still.

What would be a local type of store to get oil if I wanted to try it as a diffuser? Never something that interested me but now I have a handful so I could run one. Bed Bath and Beyond?

@mruj i would not stock up on 4 in particular, variety is the spice of life! For one, I prefer the 14mm stems as a direct draw compared to the direct draws (never used the thicks tho); I like the sandblasted part as a mouthpiece, felt the glass got too hot using the old DDs.

Honestly, get a Nylon SS stem as its a one hitter, and get a glass one for you. Your wife will get like 3 hits off the Nylon fully packed and that should be more than enough (fat hits). The bigger bowl on the glass stem should suffice you. Get two and two and prepack if you'll be going for a while! Or get some of their other stems, can't go wrong really, just wouldn't recommend 4 direct draws as I feel your doing a disservice to the amount of selection you have; that being said, if you feel those will fit your needs better, have at it!

Edit: the downside to picking a few different ones is you'll inevitably find one you prefer the most :D then you know for your next order

@HellsWindStaff for local essential oil I have been trying to price out and find the best spot. Giant eagle, earth bound, local health food stores usually have a section, im sure bed bath and beyond also carries them. They all very in price from $4 to $8 and up to $20. I've been looking for organic oils which is what really jumps in price. If all else fails supporting the local online underdog never disappoints and they r actually the only place I have bought any oil from.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll prob order 2 glass stems, 1 nylon and 1 one of those frosty glass ones.. as a variety like you said :)

I still like the 'Old style' glass stems with the silicone bowls most of all. Am I the only one here who uses 'em these days? Never see anyone else mention using them anymore. I have all the other Underdog stems from Dave and then some from other sources like Ed and Alan but somehow default back to the Old style stems half the time.

Loving my U'dogs these days, if I'm awake there's a hot 'dog ready and waiting for a little attention.

Hey mruj-- Just want to correct something real quick- we have a 2 year warranty on vapes (90 days only on electronic accessories, such as power supplies and cords).

Having said that, we do offer economical repair services if something should happen after you're beyond your warranty period. We like to think that we offer the best service in the industry, but just can't (in good conscious) offer a lifetime warranty.

Please let us know if you have questions!

Ah, thanks for the clarification.. I thought somewhere I read that with the UDFS code, there was lifetime warranty for FC community.. I might be confused.. :)

Agree with @Philreal187 - natural food places. Got mine at Sprouts - aura cacia was the brand I believe. Quite pricey normally, but they had a good sale the day I was looking.

I think that Nano does do that... So that might be where you picked it up. :)
yeap.. that's it, just found it... wasn't the biggest selling point to be honest as everyone talks about how reliable the both the UD and nano are.. :) I'm waiting for a gift card from my boss and will order the UD as soon as I get it.. I have my eyes set on the bamboo UD... 2 quick questions... can I use 2 different payment methods? Something like $150 in a visa gift card and than another $50 on my credit card? not a biggie if I can't. And the 2nd question is, what does the UDFS code usually get as far as goodies? :)
