Discontinued Pax 2

Vapor seems to taste heavily of things I eat or drink before I vape. Even bushing my teeth before gives the vapor a great menthol feeling and taste and smell if I exhale back out through my nose.

Ate a bunch of sour strawberry candy and the herb plus sour strawberry was incredible.

So the other day while charging my pax, I noticed that after about 30 minutes or so the pax would stop flashing and just sit on the dock without any indication of whether or not it is charging. After unplugging and re-plugging the brick from the outlet, the light goes back to flashing. Am I the only one with this problem? Should I be concerned? @Ojan_at_PAX ever heard of this before?

Just to confirm, you're seeing the "X" flash on/off/on/off white? Or do you mean it's pulsing white continuously without turning solid? What power source are you plugging your charger into?

@Ojan_at_PAX it pulses white, like how it does when normally charging, but then it just stops all together and the led stays off. I'm using a regular wall outlet btw, and have seen it happen on several outlets.

Double check the USB wall outlet to make sure it's rated at minimum DC 5v 1A. If it is, then the amperage (A) may be fluctuating too much and not consistently pumping out 1A. If you have a spare USB port on your computer, plug the charger into that and see if you can replicate the issue.

@Ojan_at_PAX Is it possible for my friend to use the warranty for a Pax 2 I gave him that I purchased at vapeworld if he ever needs it?

Yes, gifts are totally cool! It's just that the warranty is non-transferrable through 2nd hand purchases, so selling it on ebay/amazon/craigslist will not allow for the warranty to carry over to the new person.

was using pax 2 with about 1 petal left on the power. i was drawing from it then all of a sudden i see it turned off by itself. i put it on the charger and its blinking 4 light purple lights. @Ojan_at_PAX

update. its charging normal and one petal is lightint up. it coudlv been the battery jus needed charging cause i havent charged it in 16 days since i got it and charged it fully. i use it mildy. like id take 6-7 draws while turning it on and off per day(ex. take 2 turn it off. a few hours later take a few then turn it off). with one full oven lasting about 3-4 days. @Ojan_at_PAX

@Ojan_at_PAX

oh yeah forgot to mention when it turned off by itself. i clicked the power button to turn it back on and it gave me 4 red lights then turned off. do you possibly think it ran out of battery and needed charging? and sorry for the newbie question im new to vaping

hi @JohnDank, it is totally normal that the pax2 stopps working any time when there is only one petal/light left, normaly you should then see the four red petals blinking fast for a second and then it turns off, maybe you did not see the red light the first time because the blinking is very short, also when you put it on the charger it is normal that first the white light is olny blinking but after 30 minutes aproximately there should be already one light staying on,
it will take 2-3hours to be full, i usually put it on the loader when there are two petals still on,
hope this could help, sorry for my english i'm luxemburgish:-)

How do you keep from burning your lips? I'm putting my mouth around the flat mouthpiece so as not to lose any vapor). Eventually, I burn my lip. This must be an easy problem to solve. Would really love to use the
Pax2 more, but find myself choosing another toy so as to avoid terrible pain.

What's the secret?

Are you using the flat mouthpiece? If so, it's a sip not surrounding the whole pax 2. I think there's a video on the Ploom site. Hope this helps

Pull more with your throat and less with your lips if that makes sense...Also take short puffs instead of fully drawing on it. .. should help.

Great! Glad it's charging fine :) Yeah, 3 red blinks, followed by your PAX shutting off, indicates a low battery. up to 3 hours on the charger (via USB) will have your PAX fully charged, and you will see 4 solid white lights before taking it off the dock. Each petal indicates a 25% charge, so if you see 1 solid and 3 pulsing, your device is at least 1/4th fully charged.

Sip it, don't rip it! If you ever feel warmth on your lips, that's the vapor and hot air being pulled out of the oven. Make sure your lips are wrapped fully around the opening, and sip on the mouthpiece as if you were testing the temperature of a cup of hot tea. PAX will do all the work and extract moisture from your material, so all you have to do is clear the chamber of the vapor that's been made. Added airflow will dilute the vapor, making it appear thinner, and pull that warm air out of the oven which drops your material's temperature and negatively affects the vaporization process.

Whats up guys? Long time since I've been around. My wife surprised me with a Pax 2 about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. It makes my Pax 1 feel like a brick. I absolutely LOVE the Pax 2 and recommend it to anyone I can. I've been a pax user since the day it was released, so I am biased to other portable devices.

Anyway, had a couple questions about accessories.

What are these "sandwich & screen packages" or "pushers" I see floating around, like this here...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAX-2-Sandwich-and-Screen-Pkg-9006-/121718023456?hash=item1c56f5a520
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAX-2-Adjustable-Pusher-2731-/121718022557?hash=item1c56f5a19d

Any other accessories I should look into?
I am going to buy one of those 3D printed smell-proof cases, just not sure what else is out there.

Thanks!

That is why I married her! And she doesn't even toke anymore!

She knew I wanted one but I was so hesitant because I own/used my Pax 1, she found a local store that had the Pax 2 in the color I've wanted and got it for me as an early wedding gift (gave it to me a few days before our wedding), and I can't say anything other than I am blessed to have her in my life.

Now, back to the Pax accessories... :D

Oh, I also saw a 'vented oven lid', whats the advantage/disadvantage of it versus the stock PAX lid?

Het @Espo! Maybe I can help a little. The sandwich and pusher are for those who don't like to fill the pax 2 oven. The pusher is an adjustable spacer. If you used a folded screen in your pax 1, this is a big improvement, but both methods work. That piece is also half of the sandwich. The bottom half is New Vape's screen. I've heard on FC that using both pieces doesn't leave much room for product. And I'm happy with the pax 2 stock screen (there's a 2nd generation of these with little dimple feet). That screen with proper installation works great.

I've read that the vented base was created to address complaints of some that the draw was too restrictive. There has not been much feedback here on that piece. I'm hesitant to use that piece since it wasn't engineered by Ploom. And I'm happy with how this works without it.

But I did need a spacer and got and am very happy with the pusher. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply!! I was wondering how much room was available if both the new screen (which looks a lot thicker than the stock screen) and the pusher. I am just going to order a pusher and see how that goes.

Is it worth it to buy the screen AND the pusher, just to have the screen? Is it that much of an improvement over the stock screen?

Also, I found a coupon code to use with NewVape, "reddit" will get you 10% off your order.

I am going to leave the stock oven lid alone because I do not see any issues with it at all.

I believe the New Vape screen is much thicker than the pax screen. That's why I've read here it doesn't leave enough room for product when used with the pusher. The pusher has an adjustable screw to change its depth. Even using the pax screen, I keep the pusher all the way screwed in. But I think you'll like the pusher.

I actually have both. The Newvape screen is def thicker than the stock screen. I also noticed it takes a drop longer for the Pax to heat up with it in. I'd say off the top of my head it is prob 3x thicker than the stock screen. I also do not notice any increase in airflow using it. I mostly use my stock screen but the 1 thing i can say i like about the NV screen is it comes out of the oven very easily , it drops right in and if you turn your pax over it will drop right out as where the stock screen will stay in there and you will have to use something through the mouthpiece end to stick in there and push the stock screen out. I also have the pusher and rarely use it but it works well for when you just want to pack a small load in there as opposed to a full load and long session.

I have been messing around with cheap vapes from China they work great but I wanted to get a name brand vaporizer to really compare them too. My choices where the ascent or the pax2 . I had gotten a ascent but it had a rubber smell that would not go away and was giving me a headache so I sold it to my sons friend who loves it and says he can't smell anything off . Then I bought the pax 2 and I have to say I love this little thing taste great works awesome. I still use my cheap vapes but on really bad days when I need extra med effects the pax2 is my first choice. I now regret I didn't buy it sooner.

I like all of those accessories. Funny thou the metal poker is the most expensive piece.

Anyone have the song adapter, I like my vapes going through water.

I've got one of @Ratchett 's song adapters and love it. It's used almost every day. He originally designed it to fit tight over the raised MP, but after he did some tweaking, it will now also fit in place of the mouthpiece perfectly. So, if you're like me and prefer the flat MP, you can use the song and not have to worry about having the raised MP. I usually use it with my Pax 2 in party mode (I have a non-simon model so I use the one with the random light patterns), but it will work without putting the Pax 2 in party mode as well. If you love the Pax 2, and have some nice glass, just wait until you try it out! Match made in heaven!

That said, I had to send my Pax 2 in for a warranty check (my button wasn't responsive) so I'm back to using my Pax 1. There's definitely a huge difference between the two and I'm considering buying another Pax 2 just to hold me over during the warranty process... darn slow USPS... But anyway, Ojan (and my support help - JC) have both been very helpful and made me feel much better about the whole experience! For now, I'm waiting it out, but I'm nervous with the hurricane coming this weekend. Pax 1 isn't rechargeable by battery like Pax 2... and we lose power when it rains hard!
