Hey,

I have a couple VV batteries and was wondering if they'd work with the 2.5 atomizer, and if so, what voltage I should try them at?

Assuming you're talking about the 0.8Ω version, the numbers are:

10 watts = 2.82V
12.5 watts = 3.16V
15 watts = 3.46V

Not all VV batteries can drive a 0.8Ω load...

Has anyone else experienced resistance change on their atomizer? My 2.5 donut started out at 0.78Ω, but now it reads (consistently) 1.05Ω. Is this normal? These readings are from my eLeaf iStick TC 40W, as I do not have a stand alone resistance meter.

I guess I should be more specific. The two batteries I have are:

Anyone? Is this a sign that my atty is on it's way out? TC doesn't really work now either...very hot for some reason.

I'm interested in this too, I have one that's been fluctuating from the first fire up as it gets warm or cool.
To be clear, I'm not talking about a rise in resistance during use, which is to be expected and is actually essential to the operation of temp control. My atomizer's cold resistance is what is increasing. For the first couple if weeks, it would read 0.78Ω when cold, now it reads 1.05Ω.

As I understand dielectric breakdown (from a google search) it would actually cause the resistence to decrease, not increase. I'm no expert, so please let me know if I've got it wrong.

All my posts have been taken the wrong way but here's for what ever it's worth. Using invader mini with 2.5 donut

The overall resistance does in fact rise in some atties over time and with superheating for cleaning.

Performance issues as well with overall resistance changes may also occur with a leaky atty. The main issue is a bad contact with the mod and atty.

After a thorough iso soak and cleaning, sometimes I can get the atty to original resistance. The biggest issue is the contacts though

On my mod, resistance always fluctuates depending on how tightly I screw on the atty. I noticed super tight and it will read a short and a little loose is the sweet spot. Sometimes times I have to screw and unscrew to find the sweet spot

All the changes in resistance will make it hard to find a Constant setting so I find it best to find the temp that will barely get the donut red hot and go one level below that temp. In other words, find the highest temp possible that doesn't get the donut red to vape on. I find higher Temps than that will lead to leakage to the bottom holes

Yes I messed up the resistance on my first one by taking it up too hot outside of TC mode. Started out at .76 and worked great in TC but guess I heated it up too much when cleaning. Not enough pulsing, too much riding. Matt explained that firing a 2.5 too hot for too long in VW will raise the overall resistance of the donut. permanently. I didn't realize there was anything bad you could do to one of these other than crack it, but yes, you can ruin your donut even if it doesn't crack.

By ruined I simply mean it only works in VW/VV for me now bc the resistance is now up past 1.8 and ever since it got past 1.0 it wouldn't work in TC on the iStick 40W, slips into VW immediately upon firing. Works fine in VW, and by fine I mean you have to be careful not to burn and even when it doesn't burn, the flavor isn't as good as when it runs in TC.

Actually think I might have misrepresented what was conveyed to me from Divine Tribe. They make it sound like the problem can not just occur from getting the donuts too hot in VW mode, but form running them in VW mode at all.

"What I have found is if the donut ohms go beyond .95 it usually means it was accidentally used in wattage mode. Wattage mode makes the donut range from .7 to 1.9, sometimes higher. Once that happens it usually doesn't recover. Each time I use mine I make sure its always in temp mode. We send out new bases for $10 ea."

So yeah, this is what happened to my first one. At first it went up to 1.05 or something and would work in TC for a little while then slip out. Shortly thereafter it got to where it would only work in VW and slip out od TC immediately. Once that happened, then the resistance really started going up. Now reading 1.85. Have a second one that was never used in VW mode and that one still reads .76 and still works like a dream in TC. Gave it to a friend, he only used it a couple times, I made him give it back until I get my replacements!

I should have started by saying that the DT 2.5 CDA is for sure the tastiest, most economical portable concentrate vape I've ever tried!! ...when in TC mode. Even in VW mode it still tastes better than any other atty, although obviously a little slower to get up to temp than ones that use wire heating coils. But yes, in TC mode nothing tastes better and nothing will stretch your material farther than a DT v2.5. Nothing I've ever tried anyway.

Hey all. Glad to have found this thread as I stumbled upon the v2.5 earlier today and was wondering how effective it was for bho which u all answered. Now my question is- u all seem to b using regulated devices. Would this atty function appropriately/ safely on an unregulated mech using a single 35A pulse ratted 18650

Edit: tried getting info/opinions over on e-cig-forum. The thread lasted an hour before it was removed for inappropriate content. So uptight over there
PPS: right after that post was removed they asked me to change my username (also dubmethod20) so far I've told em to fuck right off and they haven't booted me yet.

Back to the topic at hand, I revisited the divine tribe site and saw that tc devices are recommended for this atty so is there a donut appropriate for a mech? I could easily stack 2 in the vengeance or velocity rda

I'm experimenting again the double ceramic coils atty I bought with my V1 donut, it hit really hard so I use it at 3.8v, taste is not more than decent at this setting but I use it only for 2nd run oil/reclaim so taste is not a concern.

The threaded cônes of this sort of LayG attys (Dabbler and Kiss also) make me crazy to screw and unscrew so I replaced the cone+mp by a short piece of silicone tubing(ID=1cm) which fit in a 14mm gong (from my orbiter tubing), I can't use it on the go like that but for a home session it is very nice, you only insert the threaded part of your atty to the lip of your tubing. I only use that setup with my bubbler.

Did you notice the 2 coils are not heating in the same way, one is always dry before the other...so you can't finish the load without to burn one coil residues (and get a bad taste!)?

Those of us that have the ipv d2 and ipv4, what are the best settings you have found to use the divine tribe 2.5 with? Ex. 320F @ 20 joules is my current setting. What are some good ones you have found on this specific mod

Doesn't the donut v2.5 use nicrome wire? If so how are you guys doing true temp control? Shouldn't the wire be Ni200 or Ti for temp control?

To me it's really not about it being true temp control rather than getting the device to work how you wnted. Yes it's kind of trial and error with temp control not being accurate but once you find that the piece works and doesn't break you have an awesome movie piece. I fired it up and it's so close to that dab feeling. Not exact same but way better than buying a pre fill cart.

Right now I'm just using a sleeper coil in a derringer. Wickless with the coils pushed down almost touching the deck. It's not pretty and doesn't get great flavor but it works :p can't wait to get my hands on the v2.5 just waiting on the arrival of a tc mod (and a pay check) to pull the trigger
