Discontinued The Grasshopper

I feel I should contribute in some small way. I preordered a titanium model last week. Normally I go for a sure thing but it seems I am a sucker for the pen style vape. I purchased a different one as my reintroduction to vaping about two months ago. That one was an impulse buy which is extremely rare for me.

It is a bit of a gamble but I have faith. My current portable works well enough for now, when (if?) I finally get a Grasshopper it will basically cure my VAS, at least as far as new vapes go. It never hurts to have a backup...

I would not be too concerned about a little tingle that only happens in an edge use case. It seems it may be an inherent issue due to the design and lack of wires. I'll take a pure vapor path over a harmless dose of electricity any day.

Anyways, best wishes to GHL, those that are waiting for their units, those that already have one, and anyone else reading this thread. :peace: :leaf:

Not to belabor the point, but the concern isn't getting harmed by electricity, it's whether this is a normal function of the design, or is it indicative of a defective unit.
Well, that's my concern anyway....

It's normal, and whoever said that it has to do with the charger that is also correct. It's also the same thing if you put a coin to bridge the circuit at the backend.

When it flashes on it knows that it's a false connection and immediately turns itself off so it's not a huge battery drain.

On a positive note, I've found that scooping up a bit of herb with the mouthpiece and using it to fill the chamber works pretty well. Also, I've pinned it down to being able to get 4 full loads off one battery without seeing the flashing red battery light with the way I use it. I click off between hits, use it at 3 for the first 2-3 hits, use it at 3.5 for the rest of the load (4-5 more hits) except for the final hit which I crank to 5.

Would I be correct in assuming that you find the lip condom necessary for this routine?

If I'm taking it easy and letting a bit of time pass between hits then I don't need it at all, but if I'm going in on a quick solo sesh then I need it after the first 2-3 hits. I can't lie, I've yelled out loud more than once from touching my lips to that hot ass mouthpiece.

I have just started using it all the time since I have limited hand function. It protects the finish and gives me better grip unscrewing the end to refill. What some people see as a negative is actually a positive for me. I'm really liking it and most people can't discern what it actually is since there is such a wide variety of e-cigs out there.
Edit: Actually I'm very happy since I only spent 150.00 total for SS Grasshopper, 2 extra batteries, SS case, extra charger and 2 extra mouthpieces. I ordered all my extras during the campaign when batteries were 5.00, SS case was 25.00, and the extra charger was 10.00. Even with the wait I basically got all my extras free since a new hopper is 150.00

The negatives are far outweighing the positives. I wish GH would come on here and address a few things but I doubt that will happen.

Really? I have a $99 convection vape that is super stealthy, does exactly what it's supposed to do (although it's a little warmer than I'd hoped), and has a lifetime warranty. From my perspective, that positives FAR outweigh the one sorta-but-not-bad-negative.

@juke52 Please elaborate.

What kind of $99 convection vape do you have?
Is it a portable vape?

Is it a secret vape no one knows about, or a chinese vape you bought from dhgate or alibaba that claims to be convection?

Other than a box style plug in vape I am unaware of any portable pure convection vapes at that price.

Please tell us the name and post pics if possible.

Thank you my friend.

Methinks he was referring to his hopper! Some early backers got it for $99.

that small buzz/shock feeling thing is unnerving... if it came into contact with metal in a specific way what would happen? battery failure? (nobody try this i don't want to be responsible for injuries to you or your grasshopper lol)

There was a turquoise lotus cap on the bay for a long time, with an aluminum stem for $99 :sherlock:

Don't forget this one too http://triihouse.com/lily.html ... Pretty damn amazing pure convection vapor for the price, though it is torch based like Lotus. Thermovape T1 still goes for $99 some places too no? :p

Anyway Doc, yeah juke has a Grasshopper, one of the backers who is fortunate enough to have received it. So a $99 convection vape for him, not us pre orders or retail hold outs

You are just one review. There are several others that say they are happy too. But there seems to be a lot of failures we are hearing about. It might be a natural process of beta testing a new vaporizer. Which should be done before sales.

I really don't think it will effect anything. if you touch your finger to the clicker and the body of the Grasshopper don't really feel anything but the tongue is a bit more sensitive. Like I said before I'm a quad and was adjusting the temp with my teeth and got a lil surprise. All is good don't worry..
It's not enough current to short out the battery

@CE24 my friend you should never get shocked by any electrical equipment especially a vaporizer. If you are feeling a shock to your tongue however so slight it may be, there is a definitely a serious problem.

I personally would never use a vaporizer that shocked me when I hit it. You have to see the problem with this....this is not acceptable to me.

Would you use your cell phone if it shocked you when you were using it?

Just my :2c:

It's not shocking me when I hit it, only if I adjust the temp with my teeth. And I appreciate the concern..
