Well, one hit from my UD and my friend had to get one too. He brought his new madrone burl dog over tonight, and what a beauty it is!

On the left is my walnut dog, then the cherry HI, then my friends madrone on the right.

I've been joking that I should have had him buy his dog through me so I could capitalize on the buy 2 get 1 deal. But that would be taking advantage a bit, no?

We're both really happy with our dogs.

I love how welcoming they are to your HI, fits right in with the pack :)

I love my Underdog, I really do. I've got #16579 flame box elder. I've dropped it many times and hate myself for it but it is very durable. I've unfortunately put some dents in it, still works. But the power adapter it comes with. Oh man. I've gone through 3 of them in a year, although they're touted to leave on 24/7. It just got to the point where I had to go out and buy one from Best buy for 20 dollars. Hopefully this is fixed in the future, but other than this I have zero complaints, in fact i love it.

Woe betide she who finds FC, because it may induce VAS, particularly when one finds lovely wood log vapes.

I collect wood boxes, which considering that I find them mainly at thrift stores, are far more economical to collect than log vapes!

Now that I have my Underdog, I understand VAS better. My little teak UD is so petite but powerful and lovely to look at and to hold. I pick it up and cuddle it in my hands even when not plugged in simply because I love the feel of the wood in my palms and against my fingers. I have been obsessively waxing it at least every other day. It is generally drier in Colorado, but really, I just enjoy polishing it and watching the wax melt on the warmed wood.

I know this may not add anything to the thread, but I really just wanted to expound upon my love of this new vaporizer to those who will understand.

I do now understand the interest in using with water. I have respiratory problems and even though I am better now at getting cooler vapor, I am still experiencing some respiratory discomfort on occasion. Plus, though I got rid of my bubbler, I still have my baby bong, because I love it so and could not bear to part with it, so it will be nice to put it back in circulation. And when I say respiratory discomfort, it is pretty mild and I love the way the UD medicates and functions too much to be daunted.

I am, however, glad it was not my first vape, since respiratory issues were the reason to drop combustion and my time with my Haze, vaping at lower temps, helped me clear my lungs and see the difference vaporizing can make. I have been coughing a bit more and wheezing/using my albuterol more since using the UD more so I do need to find ways to smooth and cool further.

I love love love my Haze, but think using the UD is more fun and with the always on capability, I can just set down the draw tube and come back to it when I want. I was always turning on my Haze and them forgetting about it until it had shut itself off. Do that enough and even the passive heat can vape my herb enough to notice. With the UD, I set the tube down, leave UD on and when I am really ready to take a hit, I can.

I am not saying one is better than the other, but just have different strengths and weaknesses. So glad I found FC and the Underdog!

<snippage>

(can't have cords hanging off the table or the big furry dog gets tangled in 'em ... ya know if it makes the smallest loop off the table she's stickin' her nose through it and walkin' away)

Right there with you. I had a perfectly good laptop cooler ruined when one of the cats decided the loop for the power cord was a jump-rope, LOL!

I know it used to say "there's no Best Vaporizer" on the top of the page here on FC and I kinda sorta agree with that idea ... until I get to using my 'dogs.

If I can plug-in, nothing I've owned or used beats the performance of and Joy provided by my Underdogs.

For me today on this sunny Sunday morn as I watch Man U blow away Southampton nothing is better then my Hot 'dog.

Guess this could of been posted in the "bump this thread if your vaped" thread but just Loving my Underdogs too much.

:peace: ... ;pd; <=== (ignore the little purple light, this is really a UD today)

Hey Dogs, happy Monday.. 2nd to last week for the September specials and we're still sending lots of new Pups out.

For those of you who have been asking: we're not planning on another refresh until next week probably and this special should be the last 'sale' until the Holidays most likely. Just an FYI / heads up.

The Box Elder ones are always some of my favorites, glad to hear you're enjoying it! Sounds like you're having worse than average luck with power supplies. Are you using them with an extension so you don't have to replace the whole thing? I ask because most of them time when the PS fails it's a break in the cord so the replaceable extension helps with that. If they fail internally via bad transistor or something then of course an extension can't/won't help. :2c:

Nice write up, glad to hear you're having a good time with the Pup!

Has anyone turned a multi-axis log vape? I've been watching woodturning videos and something like this could look pretty incredible as a log. It seems to me like there's a lot of unexplored space in terms of the shape of log vapes.

I did a few back in the early days of UD. Between all the added labor and them only appealing to a small number of UDs shoppers it didn't make business sense to keep making them. They were kind of cool though.

This is the only one I could find a pic of (and it's not a good pic) but I think I did 3 or 4 total.

The extension cord that was sent stopped worked so I had to start plugging the adapter directly into the UD. Lol.

Wow, off-center and segmented, that's a wild dog! I definitely get what you mean in terms of viability though, that is a lot more work and appeals to less people. Still, I love that you made those and that they're out in the world.

My EconoDog has arrived! And is pictured as my avatar there to the left.

Everything arrived very carefully packed - to the extent of sealing the packing peanuts into discrete little packets so you don't have loose packing peanuts all over the place.

First I scared myself, because even though I had everything plugged in, it was still stone cold. "OH NO", thunk I, "IT CAN'T BE DOA!"

And of course it was not. The power connection to the vape body is just super tight and I had to be a little firmer making the connection. Which is good - you don't want the power cord to pull out too easily while you're trying to use it.

Once I fixed that, it heated up a LOT faster than the 20 or30 minutes I've seen suggested. The body does get a little hot - I would use the provided extension cord to reduce the heat when using it as a not-particularly-well-attended-to oil diffuser.

But it is functioning way better than expected or even dreamed of.

Just 2 draws, and just time to wonder when it might kick in - when it did.

I can see this is going to be SUPER conservative for how much substance is needed. I never got close to anything like this with the Firefly (which is admittedly malfunctioning) nor even when I lit it on fire after giving up on the FF.

No ashy horribleness. No coughing. No having to make the secret hand signal while holding your mouth just so and addressing the 3 forms of Brahma in Sanskrit and hoping for the best.

I'm sold. I don't see how this could be any smoother. And no messy bong water to clean up, no obviously-a-piece-of-drug-paraphernalia to have to remember to keep out of sight, no ash residue, no smoke, no coughing - I never imagined it could be this clean.

And then I can load it up with one of my essential oils in between times to cover up any tiny traces left lingering in the air, as well as just the usual reasons for scenting with essential oils.

BONUS!

I am honestly just amazed. Kudos to you, Underdog!

It is just a little smaller than I thought it would be, but its fine as it is. Its about the size of 2 D batteries stacked one atop the other. Maybe a little larger than that, but in that range.

So far I've only tried the heavy duty glass stem, but its great. And sure enough, I have already dropped a glass stem. No damage this time - But I can see my next knitting project is going to be STEM COZIES!

I couldn't be happier. I hope you guys are a lot younger than me, because I'm a fan for life now. Wouldn't want my source to dry up and blow away before I do, LOL!

Oh - BTW - I have named her. Say hello to Pywacket!

Awesome, so happy to hear it's working out well for you. Enjoy! :)

Cool idea - I want in!

I haven't knitted any stem cozies but I have been known to put clear heat-shrink over glass stems if I'm taking them backpacking or hiking lol.
