What's up guys and gals,
I want to try vaping wax and weed through the Davinci at the same time, and i'm wondering first, is that possible? And second, at what temp should I start? I was thinking I might try putting in about a quarter of a bowl's worth of bud and then put the oil can with a little dab's worth of wax in it on top of that.
Love to hear any input, thanks a bunch

What would I look for in the packaging to date it.
The serial number will be located near the bar code on the box.

OMG I just found out that there are clone/fake Ascents .
The unit being sold by an unauthorized dealer does not mean it is a fake, it just means no warranty. We have yet to come across any Ascent clones.

Dont even use the oil can. Just have some shatter in a little ball and roll it in cannabis and vape it in the oven. You could wrap your shatter or wax in cotton or hemp fiber.

Thank God now I feel so much better ! Hopefully I won't need the warranty ,fingers crossed !
You shouldn't, but unfortunately things happen. If you do need a warranty service, we have one available for purchase on our website for customers in situations like this. However, the cost is $59.99 for the service and you expressed you paid $150 for the unit on Massdrop. You could have purchased a bundle on our website with a water tool and car charger, complete with warranty for $199 instead of $210 for just the unit and the warranty.

I just wanted to get that information out there for people who are considering ordering from Massdrop, because at the end of the day you really do end up paying more for less. Either way though, enjoy the Ascent and we are always here for you! :)

Massdrop has stopped selling vaporizers, at least for now.

What's the deal with some alibaba and dhgate selling these for under $100? For some reason I am thinking DaVinci is going to release a new vaporizer.

It could be a Ascent knock off, so buyer beware. Contact Davinci and see if it's a real unit before buying it.

Even if it turns out to be real, the warranty may not work in case of any problems with the unit.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
@crazelee: I know about your payment issue you stated in the other thread... but I would rather try to find someone to buy a genuine product via credit card for you than getting a fake one - even when you would get it for free.. would NOT do it.

it fake/clone for 100% sure. im consider to get one.
As stated earlier, we have not come across any fake Ascents yet. A lot of these alibaba sellers use the Ascent as SEO just to get people to their page. In my experience, every time I've gone to factories that say they're making and selling 1:1 Ascent's they've never been able to show any product.

Hopefully mine will turn up this week from the new DC in Holland. The buying experience direct with Da Vinci has been very disappointing to the point of worrying, as the price is never the same twice on your invoice, and the website also fails to get updated when the order has been shipped.

It took a 'Live Chat' on their website Friday afternoon to find out where my order was, as it was still showing as 'Awaiting Fulfillment' 4 days after purchase yet their website claims to process international orders in 1-2 days!

Though I would point out, that the staff via email and live chat have been very friendly, helpful and apologetic, so I am looking forward to taking the device for a spin when it finally arrives this week

If @Davinci_vaporizer hasn't been able to find a counterfeit then the most likely explanation for this sort of "offer to sell" is that it's a scam.

I agree. While we haven't seen it here, we have with other vapes. Often the 'seller' had nothing more than photos he posted, and those were found to be stolen as well. That is guys found the photo on the web and the link they took it from. In fact, IIRC, at least once the same guy was scamming several offers?

If I was going to copy a vape, Ascent would be very low on my list. It would take a LOT of very expensive tooling to make the custom case and oven parts. It would take an investment in tooling of many many thousands of dollars to make the first copy. Most any other vape would probably be cheaper you'd think?

I just tried the link above, now four hours old, it doesn't connect.......that's probably a clue? I'd sit on my wallet on this one.

I've seen over 5 companies offer the ascent when I tried ti buy one they say they none right now or want payment by western union and none will take paypal. I think its just a ploy to get you to there shop then they try to sell you other clones mostly pax.

Do yourself a favor and buy from an authorized seller. Go with a vendor on FC such as Puffiup,PlanetVape or straight from the company - Davinci. It's not worth it risking getting ripped off or not having a warranty for your device.

This vaporizer has gotten the bugs worked out from the release 2 years ago. Being able to dial in your exact temperature is one of the best features of this little portable. Also the taste is a real winner. Mine has a birthday in October, it will be 2 years old.

In my experience dealing with these guys, they try to find wholesalers to preorder and prepay an amount that makes it worth it for these guys to be able to start up production and still make a profit. However, the more vaporizers you have on your alibaba store, the more people will look at it. I've personally seen all of the biggest factories claiming to make Ascents and have NEVER seen even a sample. They use the vaporizer as SEO to get you on their site, then in the factory to try to impress you with expensive tea, cigarettes, and cheap knock off vapes. We have a lot of efforts going towards stopping the advertisement of clones.

Vaporiser just turned up :) , first impression, the box was assembled by someone with a blue peter badge! It's only a plastic window I know, but it couldn't be glued any more wonkey!

When removed from the box, it's bigger and heavier than I was expecting, but it feels a quality build, the parts all fit nicely and have a solid action to them, whether opening the bowl, or extending the mouthpiece, though the functions button in the middle is a little sticky!

It has a serious 'new' smell to it, which is quite strong while performing the initial 'burn-offs', which must be performed, especially as I notice the oven looks slimy / greasy as it has heated up, so perhaps there is shipping grease that needs burning off, but when rubbed with a q-tip, the end isn't getting wet, so perhaps it is just the way the glass oven coating is reflecting the light?

When sucking on the mouthpiece with the oven door open, 'just air', there is a 'new' taste to the device, so I can see this is going to need 'breaking in' , once a few burn-offs have been performed.

Looking forward to getting it home after work and taking it for a test drive.

I spent the evening 'breaking in' the device. My initial thoughts are 'disappointing'.

I spent the entire day at work doing empty 'burn offs', looking forward to the glorious clean fresh taste of an all-glass pathway when I got home that all the reviews bang on about, and all I could taste was rubber!

The all glass pathway isn't strictly true, because it's not as though the two glass pieces fit together air-tight! There is air being added to the draw through the sides via the gap in the glass and the middle body of the device where the glassware fits is made of rubber!

I'm hoping that this will subside over time, as it did taste a little better this morning, after an evening of heavy use, but I am getting the feeling that any review on the net that shows a brand new vape being unboxed, filled with dry herb, and immediately used with no prior 'burn off' or 'breaking in' and then bangs on about how amazing the device tastes, either has no sense of taste / smell or is a complete liar.

Putting this aside, I do like the device, I just wasn't expecting my Titan to currently taste better, but as that took a week to 'break-in', I'm going to give the Da Vinci a fair crack of the whip, before making final judgement.

I'm certainly enjoying cooler vapour from the Ascent plus faster heat times and the battery has a decent session length.

I like the 3 stage session programming you can set, so it increases temps over time through the session.

I had hoped to use the jars for solid (crumbled), but the jars are quite thick so can't hold much, though it does work.

You need to ensure you pack dry herb fairly well, otherwise loose grain enters your mouth through the glass stem, making you spit granules of grittiness as you vape, a bit unpleasant and uncouth.

I'm also surprised there isn't a cleaning brush provided with the accessories, something all the cheap Chinese vapes and even the G-Pen comes with.

I can also confirm what others say about escaping vapour through the bottom of the device, so even though there is a rubber stopper for the mouth piece, because the oven is exposed at the bottom, it still leaks aroma into the surrounding area.

I had read that the screens provided were to help with the granules entering the mouthpiece, but as the oven shape is oval and the screens are round, I'm a little confused how they are meant to fit?

I've used one in the bottom of the oven to stop the herb falling though as the holes in the bottom of the oven aren't exactly small, and it seems to be working well, so perhaps that is what they are for?

I've ordered a bubbler to accompany the U-Tool which should be here sometime this week, so I have more playing with the device, before any final conclusions can be made.

If that rubber taste goes away, I'll be a happy customer...fingers crossed eh!

We all went through the initial smelly time. It will go away.

I do hope so, and appreciate your optimism.

It would be good if they had glass lined the central core the stem and mouthpiece occupy, imagine how awesome it would taste if they did that!
