Firewood Vaporizer

Volute of Vapor
Hi, I let my FW's to go for another home, I gifted both to my buddy (I converted him with a Vaporgenie and a Imag) as a desktop vape since the battery won't keep the charge for more than a poor session (they was collecting dust at home...) and since I own the PA.

I make a demo and I would like to show him all the power of this little beast (the V1 here) so I connected the PA and warmed it for 30s and took a long and slow hit and increased speed at end......I forgotten it can produces so much vapor man! one hit and I was done!

Although I'm still convinced the V1 was a more effective vape than its successors (faster heating and more consistent clouds with a really nice taste!)

Any plan for a FW version 3.0.....?

I have a 1.0 that always took 90 seconds before any vapor and still does. It's a very nice hunk of walnut but it never did vape very well. If yours works in 30 seconds, then mine has been defective since I bought it.

The models have definitely gotten faster over time, and the upcoming model will not be an exception.

Yes, we are working on a new model! Faster heatup is probably one of the biggest changes. The current development model can deliver visible vapor within 10 seconds of startup. There are a lot of other changes as well - here is a quick list: better mouthpiece design that stays put while in a pocket, auto temp control with 4 heat levels, leds replaced with vibration for all output (besides vapor of course;)), user replaceable batteries (not intended for frequent changes, more for replacing dead batteries), and a more durable design. The overall form factor and aesthetic is similar to the previous models.

I'll be sending out a test model to payton penn soon to get some user feedback...

Very good improvements. It's amazing to see FW getting even better. Thanks Marc :)

Congratulations @paytonpenn :clap::clap:

I typed it was using it with the power adaptater (PA) turning it in a pluggin vape and shortened the heating time, I think we already discussed about that but I always preferred the V1 cause it produces larger clouds and more evenly abv without sacrifices too much about taste....imho

My VAS is going slow actually although this next FW seems promising!

Well, it looks like my firewood has finally kicked the bucket, after about 5 months...

Battery still charges up and the green light comes on, but the trigger doesn't turn on the red light or heat the coil. Shame, I've babied the thing since I got it. We'll see how soon the next version comes out, hopefully it's worth a try.

I've been using my Firewood for the past few months and it's still going strong. The only concern or complaint I have is the glass which encapsulates the chamber has gotten loose over time. Should I be worried of any off-gas during use?

Other than that, I have been really enjoying this ol' block of wood :) And I'm stoked for the new and improved Firewood.

Thanks, Marc.

What about the 3.0...?

Paytonpen?
I had one and broke it within the day (connected to my 15v ud wall plug by accident), it will be a little longer on these. I believe some new things may be added since my version. Can confirm quick heat up, vibrations, and inhale detection are present.

And it looks a whole lot prettier.

I can give a quick update on the 3...

We are probably a couple weeks away from release (maybe a limited release initially). Prototypes are working very well. I sent a unit to paytonpenn and he used it until discharged but then accidentally plugged it into a 15v UD PS, which fried the circuit. So we are seeing that as a good learning opportunity and switching to a slightly higher voltage transistor to give a little more breathing room for cases of user error. In addition, payton convinced me to tweak the mouthpiece/capsule, and the results are great. I plan on getting payton a replacement with the changes in the next couple days...

sorry, no pictures yet, but just imagine the fw 2.1 except the edge where the main switch, leds, trigger, and air inlet is gone and is replaced with a simple curved edge like the back edge of the 2.1. The charger and single button for on/off/control are on the bottom. Other than those differences it looks pretty similar to the 2.1.

the only worry is if it comes out of the block the electrical connection might suffer, so don't pull it out.

If possible I would love to get on the limited release list. Have been using my 2.1 daily since i received it in February 2015. I've been tempted to pick up a different vaporizer for snitz and giggles but why would I when you're so close to releasing a new Firewood Model.

With the only metal on the inside could this unit pass the Airport Security setups that are in allMLB stadia,NHL & NBA arenas?

Modicum,

Thanks for the pointer, Marc. For some reason I thought Firewood was out of business, but its good to see there is a new model on the way. I was able to fix the switch by taking the cover panel off and dripping some electrical cleaner into the switch box. Two part epoxy works well to hold the panel back on, hopefully its not too toxic. I'm excited for FW3.
