after 3-4 bowls it's back to blowing nice clouds, my theory is some residue ISO that messes with air flow? i often skip the "wash with water" step and just hand dry the CU parts with q-tips and tissues

edit: oh yeah i also swapped in a brand new, fine screen in the CU. that could also be the culprit

The ISO will evaporate away. I don't use the fine screen as I found it created draw resistance and was harder to clean.

Damn, I havent cleaned my CU in like 2.5 months. I only smoke like 0.15g tops a day. I wonder if its bad or been affecting my lungs or something badly, or is it like causing THC/CBD to get stuck in the CU and not goto my lungs? Are there some dangers in not cleaning it? What is the main reason you guys clean it?

A dirty cooling unit will usually produce a lot more vapour than usual. I find it gives a "heavier" element to the vapour and exacerbates my heartburn.

hybride, no dangers in not cleaning but it will eventually get so clogged with goo that it becomes difficult to draw properly.
If you clean it properly, you can get a lot of reclaim that is full of THC/CBD goodness.

Just slide the logo/hologram on top of the CU toward the mouthpiece to unlock and gently open.
I bet you'll have a good supply of cannabis goo.

I clean mine because it gets gunked up, hard to open, and the draw resistance increases...All undesirable to me, some people don't clean their CU'S until they are oozing oils

Someone a few pages back suggested using a hair dryer to warm your CU before disassembly. Works like a charm.

You guys gotta try some pbw (powdered brewery wash) to clean your cu's. @OF had suggested it to me on the forum. It works wonders on glass and I have also tried it with some water on the cu shaking all parts in a zip lock bag and it was spotless in 5-8 minutes . I have always used some alcohol and salt or some 420 solution and will never go back .

Man, how else am I gonna know less oil is crawling out the mouthpiece??

:)

Hot water + ISO cleans my CU completely for the record to people asking about cleaning. Really is easy looks worse than it is. Get a dish with a lid, fill with ISO. Lid it. Turn on sink really hot. Get outside of your dish hot, residual heats your ISO just a bit. Just stick it under the sink. Hands may burn ya pussies :) shake it around vigorously for like 5 min. Not crazy just swish it with force. If that makes sense I'm kinda inebriated, not sure that reads well lol

Glad the word is getting out. IMO much better than ISO (safer, cheaper and 'greener'). It's a detergent, so it actually washes contamination off. It was designed to clean brew kettles and stuff (hence the name), the same sort of gunk we deal with and like us in places you can't scrub. The difference between washing and dry cleaning your clothes, only here the clothes are rinsed in dirty solvent! More like thin paint. No wonder stuff doesn't get really clean unless you rinse a LOT.

PBW fixes that, works in even very hard hot water (carries it's own softners), rinses clean, you can get small jars (a pound lasts forever, you use a tiny amount for most things) from local home brewery stores or Amazon and other on line places. Excellent thread on the topic started by our very own t-dub:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pbw-the-chemistry-of-clean.7854/

Check it out, you won't regret it. BTW a spoon full eliminates that 'haze' in the dishwasher, the wife will happily back your buy if you show her that part........

wow that sounds incredible

most likely making an amazon order tonight, i have glass i've been super lazy on cleaning
You'll be amazed , very little goes a long long way. I was in the same situation , had dirty glass from my combusting days and they were all like new in less than 10 minutes.

Hey all,

Finally it's happened .... It looks like vapefiend has been listening to us.

They have come up with an adapter that bypasses the cooling unit allowing for direct water tool usage (exactly like the muzzmod).
Available in 14mm and 18mm.

It's £15.99
USD ~$25
CAD ~$33
AUD ~$35

Bit expensive especially if you have to ship from UK (where they are based).
But hey, it's been done!!!

Product Quantity Price
Crafty Mighty Easy Flow Water Tool Adapter
  • Size: 18mm
1 £13.33
Print Receipt

Subtotal £13.33
Shipping £7.04
Total Tax £0.00
Grand Total £20.37

Spendy, but a lot easier than making a MuzzMod .

I think I could make a MuzzMod (I have two Crafty CU's and several ways to get the glass) but even when I had two hands my dexterity wasn't good. And I used to be right handed. I've tried bargaining with god to no avail. Even offered to throw in some toes if he'd take my left hand instead of my right.

Let us know how it goes. I am sure a lot of people here are watching with interest. Everyone that said they'd sell a Muzzmod decided it was too cost prohibitive.

It's about 35 U.S. When converted and shipping..I went to order it and a cooling unit and it was 52 American dollars..so I'm holding off..I mean I have a muzzmod and make them on the reg..it can't be much better..I mean how can it be..straight glass to glass no cu..

How did you get it for 13.33?

I would guess it's due to tax (or lack of it, if ordering from outside UK iirc) mine was £15.99 with free shipping so not a bad price for those of us in the UK as the CU would be £12 then add adaptor and jb, meaning this is probably the cheaper option for us in the UK (this is where I do a little dance as we get it cheaper  but then remember that for almost everything else we get stung on price

That shit is super expensive for the us after shipping. The only advantage of over the muzzmod is it works for the crafty and the mighty, but if you made a muzzmod, the cu's are interchangeable.

I think the OG muzzmod wins
*I THINK (even if you don't)
*just realized the muzzmod is universal...so it superwins

It's actually kinda fun to watch on long neglected glass. You know that 'Oxyclean' stuff, the one that 'releases Oxygen bubbles'? They use that chemistry as well. You see trails of bubbles, like in a beer glass, coming from the junk as PBW 'eats' it's way underneath and floats it clear.

I've had a lot of fun with pulling out a small jar, asking a friend for his nastiest WT, putting a bit in and filling it with the hottest water possible from the sink. In a minute or two it gets rolling and they get fascinated. I bet I could get ten bucks an ounce on the spot..........

I suppose it doesn't work for reclaim @OF?

Sure it does, cleans it right off.

Oh, you wanted to use it......... I've never tried, I don't like the idea of vaping residual PBW. However I think it would work fine. PBW is a detergent, it breaks the bond with the glass and floats stuff away. It doesn't dissolve like ISO. In theory you can wash (rinse) the solution to remove the PBW, but I'd be concerned that some part of it might actually dissolve into the concentrate.

If you want to reclaim, I suggest you get the bulk out with an ISO soak in the usual manner, then a wash in PBW to remove anything left and a rinse. BTW, it contains rinse agents so it 'rinses clean' with a minimum of water changes, always nice in a WT. Good stuff.

That's just what popped up when I selected the 18mm.

What I'd love to find is a good stand for the Mighty. S&B really screwed up when they didn't design the device to stand up.

Guy's I bought this because it was ready to use right out of it's box, not because I prefered it. I'm a big fan of Elmo. He didn't walk around the problem waiting for someone else to build one, he sat down and whomped up a very impressive adapter. Cloud Heaven...

I bought a glass mouthpiece for my Mighty from this company. I'm not terribly impressed with the glass mouthpiece mounting method, but the box is super and includes another silicone gasket. Perhaps there's a specific way to use it.

I'm an Alaskan, when it comes to shipping it sometimes feels like we don't even have a Star on the Flag. I do the little dance every now and then with Amazon goodies.

That's what I suspected, I just wanted stated clarification. Thank you for that.

You don't have to defend the purchase to me, I get it. When I looked up the price, the estimate said £66 which google told me was over $100 usd
Which is completely unworthy it to ME

I personally would buy it if it were less than me getting all the materials for a muzzmod or if I couldn't get someone to make one for me.

What is this for?

I emailed Vapefiend about the plastic they use. They indicated the plastic used is POM. They also claim an all glass air path, except for the metal screen. If they chose the right POM, then it could be safe. One example of POM is Delrin, often used as vape pen tips.
