Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

I'm getting no reply from the company at all, via email, a phone message, and PMs here. Bummer since this forum has indicated good customer service. I feel extra lame because while my Indica worked, I recommended it to about a dozen people. Now I feel guilty for leading them astray. I do have a spare vape (MFLB) but I am working in a different city for a few months and didn't bring it, thinking my new Indica would be mailed out within a month. Silly me.

Mike must be really busy then, I don't think I've ever waited over 48 hours for him to answer a PM on here.

Like others have said, Mike will make it right; be it a new production unit or a refund.

Since this has taken so long, I've purchased a different product from another company. I really wanted to like the Indica, but 1) it just didn't work after a bit and 2) this customer service scene is atrocious. I am totally patient and would wait as long as it would take if I were told what is going on. I understand busy, but how long does it take to reply to just one of the emails or DMs I have sent about my order? Does not inspire confidence. Basically, I've paid $200 and have zero to show for it, not even a broken unit (I sent that back at my expense). Not even an email saying something is going to happen, someday.

I'm glad many of you seem to have had positive experiences, but I feel essentially scammed.

Yeah it is unfortunate communication has slided a bit, though I feel like it must come from a place of hesitance to share unproductive news? I mean clearly things aren't ready yet, perhaps still tied to economic issues in China?

I do understand your sentiment, and can only say that I think some day a replacement will come, and will be well worth it, a superior unit back to the quality of the first original production run if not better. Hopefully it won't take much longer, but if you learn anything watching other start up (and even some more established) companies in this industry on this forum, its that timelines can be drawn out and the nature of the product does not breed an easy wait...
At least there are plenty of options

I appreciate positive vibes @Shit Snacks , but in my case it's been over a year since I ordered, never got a working unit, and two months since I requested a refund, still no word.
I had high hopes for this way back when, but unfortunately I'm moved to deal with this through Paypal this week.

I ordered mine nearly a year ago as well, from memory I don't think they were accepting orders for the Noir until mid-October last year. So it hasn't quite been a year yet, but certainly long enough to wonder if a new production of Noirs will ever be produced. The dying heat chamber issue was well known by December of 2014 and there is still no new production run fixing the heat chamber issue, doesn't leave me much hope that the Noir will ever see a new production release. I think Mike has moved on to concentrate on his newer more high tech vapes he is working on. I got offered a refund in February after having 4 different Noirs die between Halloween and January, I took Mike up on the offer and received a refund via Paypal. I spent about $32 mailing defective units back, plus PayPal took out their usual fee. So I still came out at a loss, but at least not a complete loss.

I'm sure Mike will get back to you, especially after you contact Paypal about your issue and they contact him. I have faith you will get a refund. Too bad Mike is ignoring customers and causing people to contact Paypal about their issues, this isn't the customer service Mike provided about 7 months ago. If he doesn't want to lose Paypal as a payment option he will correct your problem.

Good luck, I'm sure it will work out. You might take a small loss on return shipping fees you paid and the fee PayPal will deduct from your refund, but it's better than nothing.

Yeah I won't even mention what I've been through, but I knew and was willing. I was fortunate enough to experience the greatness a year and a half ago in April, but other incontrollable factors led to steady declines in quality. It's been I don't even know howong since I've had a working one, at this point I consider it like other pre orders, its like my conduction grasshopper, an indefinite but hopefully worth it wait on return investment?

I'm still holding out hope! Haven't heard anything new recently. But my revised prototype Noir is still holding up strong! Even though my prototype will not be the final revised version of the vape, I've been using and enjoying it many times per week for the past few months.

Seriously, I hope the Noir makes a comeback, because the changes to my Noir make it quite an enjoyable vape. Of the four different Indica's I've handled, this prototype is the king. Battery life has been great - slight improvement over the previous one. Usage wise, I typically run the vape for at least three 10-minute sessions per day, so it's seeing quite a bit of heavy use.

Vapor density is quite impressive on the green setting, certainly a step up from the older Noir.

I even watched my friend blow white streams of dense vapor out both of his nostrils in a huge massive cough taking a massive rip from the Noir (he didn't expect the vapor - I had a fresh load set to level 4, fully preheated before he took a rip ha ha ha). I swear it looked like a dragon blowing steam out of his nose, fucking hilarious.

Seriously I hope all of you with a dead Indicas get a replacement at some point in the future, this vape is currently my personal favorite conduction vaporizer for stealth needs. (The Noir takes a trip in my pocket at least once a day, if not more). Between my Pax1 and the Indica, I reach for this Indica every time.

I'm sure Michael is waiting until he has positive news to make an announcement.

I'm sure Mike is busy and all, and I belive the new version is not ready yet, but I'm waiting for an answer for at least 5 months... He simply isn't answering my emails, my pm's... I can't really call because I live in Europe ...
This is really frustrating, I was not even ofered a refund, despite the fact that I asked for one. No reply whatsoever!
I backed up is business from the very beginning and I am very disapointed.

Attempting perfection is certainly a problem, when in business variables of unpredictability are an ongoing constant. I know you all have been waiting and are well deserving of the compete explanation of this extensive passage of time, so let me do my best and put rumor mills to rest.

First of all, yes, we do have an alliance and Beta testers will be receiving units hopefully next week. At that time, I will make the complete disclosure of the new product. The beta testers are all waiting patiently and are as eager as I to begin what I hope is a short prelaunch series of feedback sessions. Please understand that the purpose of Beta testing is to get the bugs out before going to market, so even though we are close, we may have some adjustments before opening the doors for sale on this new portable convection vaporizer.

Now, Regarding the Indica, whew, “what a long strange trip it’s been”. Last you heard I had tested and sent some samples from the factory in China back in early June. Well, a few factors beyond my control took place and production never ramped up. Long and short, we needed to secure a different group of manufacturers and reproduce the Indica from scratch. The good thing is, there was no need to duplicate old mistakes and also a great opportunity to tune up design and some past flaws in technology.

So here’s the sequence of products your likely to see on the scene and when. The O2, will arrive after proper Beta Testing, hopefully released in 30 days, give or take. The new Indica, which is a complete new body build, Shhhh, industry secret, will be Beta Tested 30 days or less from Rapid prototyping then maybe 30 days out to production. Finally, the Quantum, Hmm, Likely to match the new and improved Indica, so 60 days out for production.

I have felt saddened for all of you awaiting replacement Indica’s during this long wait. I had hoped to utilize existing tools from the get go, and that’s why I was so hesitant to post. With the glimmer of possibilities that I could of brought what we tested back in June diminishing fast, this determination had to be made. Any of you that have previously contacted me regarding heater failure replacements, the option is still open to wait patiently for the new release or we can discuss other routes via PM.

The improved quality, detail and utility, which is now built into all these design, I’ve learnt from all of you here on the forum. Thank you for being extremely patient supporters and feel free to ask question over the next few weeks as I become privy to the release of the new information on all 3 new vaporizers.

Oh damn, looks like it kept turning out to be the worst possible scenario for you over and over again. As you said there is the hidden blessing that it provides you with an even greater product at least.

I must commend you for keeping it together amid all the setbacks, keeping the customers' and supporters' best interests at heart where others mightve cut and run... I remain confident in you and the company overall, and will keep my money invested in its future!

Very much looking forward to the rest of the year as that future begins to take shape.
Good luck Mike and thank you!

I'm pleased to have finally been offered a refund via PM. Better late than never, and if the new model pans out, I am happy to buy a new one. In the meantime, I am happy that the original guarantee has been honored. Best wishes on the future work, and I really hope to become a happy Indica customer again soon!

I've finally been sent a refund and wanted to follow up: all is well that ends well.

I have a bit of professional experience (by a bit I mean like 15 years) in customer service and so am biased, but I think it would go well for Indica, and any of you reading, to realize that initial contact is super important. I am utterly patient, and a quick "wow we are so busy, this heater-failure thing came out of nowhere, we will get you squared away but it is going to take a while" would have 100% satisfied me. It is the silence that is painful. The thought that a fly-by-night company has folded, that there is no hope, regardless of whatever warrantee was promised.

Anyway, if any of you ever end up in the position of starting a company, please take heed. Keep the customers up to date! Be honest, even if it is bad news. Touching base is so much better than nothing.

I am really glad that in the end Indica's good reputation is held up, but the radio silence is really not a great thing.

I'll repeat that despite my admitted frustrations, once I hear reports that Indica has released a reliable model, I will grab it. Not only because I might always need another nifty portable, but because (I think like many of you) I want to do my small part to support this tiny yet important and growing industry. I don't have the shitloads of cash it takes to fix the huge problems in our society, but I can buy a portable vaporizer every once in a while if it is the type of unit that will help people move away from combustion.

So, I apologize if I at all derailed this thread to express my own frustrations, but I also think it is critical to let the vaping public know the real story with customer experience, especially regarding a vendor so highly praised otherwise.

I do certainly wish Indica the best with upcoming models, and will be watching this thread closely, and somewhat impatiently, to see news and finally order another unit.

So glad that things are looking up for this vaporizer. I am interested in some of the new designs. Something more on the stealth side with an extended air path would fit my needs. I will have to be patient and see the unveiling like everybody else here on FC. Good luck with all things Indica.

I've been waiting for the GH to become available to order and get a week later, but it's still out of reach for many of us. I don't want to spend $ and have to wait for 8 months. So the Indica may sound promising for the Black Friday deals. I want to order myself a Christmas present.

The Indica that I have still is working.

I quit using mine about a week after buying it. It's hard to open and close, hard to load and unload plus I got at least 25 others I have that are work, taste and feel better than this one. But I will look into any new products they come out with. I do enjoy checking out new vapes.

Personally I always preferred nearly every thing about it to other conduction session vapes I've used, loading/unloading, taste, clouds, efficiency, form, overall experience... But its been so long now since I've had a working one, let alone my original production perfection, that I will have to reevaluate when I have the new versions to test since I've been so spoiled by on demand pure convection (but that's also why O2 will be fun too, hope to try whole new line)

So what are their new vapes gonna be (names mainly)?
