Bought an Air from planetvape. Had it a day and it's already screwed up. It won't charge properly, it takes several tries of unplugging and plugging it in to get the beep and charging lights. Then it will stop charging about 10-20 min in with a beep and all the lights go off. I've tried outlets all through my house and both the batteries they sent to me. I also tried the "soft reset" thing but I don't know if it is doing anything. "pressing and holding both buttons for 4 seconds" part just turns the vape on. Here I thought the Air was going to be a reliable alternative to the struggling Grasshopper.

@Uzer We have seen very few faulty units here on FC with the Air. Maybe it's the charging cord? At any rate you will need to send it in and use your warranty. Too bad, I always dislike having to do that. It really is a well built great little vaporizer. Good luck with that.

Before you send your Air off to Arizer try to see if the plug itself is tight enough in the socket. I had problems with the charger initially. I just made the prongs a little further apart (DO NOT TRY TO SEPARATE THE PRONGS WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE SOCKET).

I have actually been thinking about trying that. The idea just popped into my head a day or two ago. Disappointed to hear your results, but I think I'll still try it. I mean, what else am I supposed to do with those flowers?

Has anyone actually used the Air for its "intended" purpose? :brow:

By that I mean putting the wild flowers into the aromaizer attachment?

I just tried and it does nothing. I let it go for 2 cycles so 20 mins and the top of the glass isn't even warm.
I was excited to try this with the aa glass dish but I broke it the day I got it. I planned on using it on my nano when it was on but not in use.

I had an idea about an hour ago, pictured below:

This actually works, although the water doesn't do anything (because the stem isn't long enough). However, I'm almost inclined to assume there is probably some kind of glass piece available that fits onto an AA (instead of the stem) but also functions with my water filter.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of commonly available glass piece that might make this work for me?

Sorry if I sound stupid here. I know essentially nothing about accessories, and my brain doesn't seem to want me to know much more.

Figure out how long the downstem is and what size! It looks like 14mm. Do you have one of the black tip stems? They fit into 14mm fittings IIRC. Too small for 18mm so if it misses it's 18mm. Figure out how long it is from the bottom of the ground joint to the end of the glass where the vapor comes out. The glass thing behind the bubbler and in front of the aromed is what looks like a downstem and an aromed bowl in one? You want one without the aromed bowl.

Then it's just a matter of using either a 14mm GonG attachment for the Air, or you can use some silicone or the black tip stem.

Thanks. A lot of that is Greek to me right now, but I'm pretty sure it will make sense to me eventually, specifically because you said it to me.

Yeah, that glass piece behind the filter is the Aromed herb holder. If the top of it was shaped like an AA stem, it would be exactly what I need.

This is really not a big deal to me right now. It's just something that popped into my head and might become more of a big deal to me in time.

My guess was that the dried flowers that came with my AA were supposed to be able to be vaporized, like other flowers for which the device is predominantly used. There are all different kinds of fancy dried materials used for vaping. I didn't try vaping those yellowy pinkish papery things, though.

And that the bowl was intended as a diffuser for scented liquids.

Together, perhaps the combo of the flowers and the diffuser bowl is intended as a decoy to veil the use of the product for which it has become so well liked. Who knows, may be some kind of legal protection? In some places it's illegal to sell/purchase drug paraphernalia.

EDIT: Kind of like the notice found in the link @Quetzalcoatl posted:

"Glass on glass Downstem. Attention Buyer: Please be advised that the item you see in this page is an equipment for Science Lab use only. USA Seller."

I agree, the 'aroma therapy dish' and the included (legal) herbs are two separate ideas, not meant to be used together. The dish is intended to use oils I think, not supplied with Solo/Air. Sometimes the oils are sold as "Essential Oils":
https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/catalog/aromatherapy

Many of us experimented early on with this. Around here Lemon Verbina is a popular scent, typically with candle powered diffusers. Pine/Cedar is a second runner up. Both those work OK but the 12 (or in this case 10 in this case) makes it highly impractical for this IMO......unless it's an excuse for having it out when friends/parents come by without notice. Many members reported this in the Solo thread, I don't recall any such reports here (I suspect because most of us Air owners 'cut our teeth' on Solo long ago?).

I've got similar packets of herbs with other vapes that didn't include a special dish. I suspect they are intended for direct vaping rather than scent? Like with Solo/Air......

There's a fellow around here who came up with a clever use for the dish, he gave it to a local Glass Blower who made it into a GonG for him.

If you're so inclined, you might get some of the oils and try the dish (Amazon has them as well), but dry herbs against warm glass isn't gonna get you too far?

Currently using the AA with my Aromed's whip attached to the 2-piece stem (without the mouthpiece). I haven't figured out why yet, but I like this. I don't see how this could be true, but it feels like there's less resistance than when I use the stems how they are supposed to be used.

Update: I tried the "soft reset" procedure with the battery out of the Air and it has seemed to fix the charging issue. Oddly what was happening was when the Air was plugged in the heater would turn on instead of charge, it would then time out at 10 min and turn off. I hope this fix lasts. Having the battery out seemed like an important step that was never mentioned in searches.
