I can't recommend those vapor bros. ceramic discs @421 mentioned enough. They really change the performance of the unit quite a bit, in a positive way. The ceramic improves the conductive abilities of the chamber imo. They also allow you to effectively hockey puck .1g and get those bigger clouds that seem to only come off when the entire surface area of the crucible is evenly covered.

I just do a coarse grind, put 3-4 ceramic discs into bottom of crucible then loosely fill to the brim. I pop one ceramic on top and use the standard MP. I find that the standard MP makes a solid fit to old school bong stems, which is what I have currently. (broke all my 14-18mm stuff, more on the way, but meh for now.)

Really lets you feel comfortable with sessioning such a small amount, and it is particularly satisfying when you get 15-20 minutes of decent flavor off that tiny bit.

 Yeah I find the discs make my session more consistent and I'm able to get perfect extracted AVB every time. Without the discs, the HA might require some more adjustment to make sure you get the proper extraction... one thing I've noticed is that it helps to keep the load secure. So either by using discs or smooshing it down with a metal screen on top.

thanks for your replies

The thing is that a 0,12 nugget is just too small to, if smushed down, occlude 100% of the surface of the screen. If I try it, there is always some holes visible if I hold the crucible in front of a light source.

I plan on trying the HA in a bigger group with much more material to see how it performs. But since that would only be in rare occasions and I vape with my wife, we cant use so much material and the HA would be obsolete then, since 0.12 gets us both to a good level

I would try grinding that nugget and then trying again. It's so much easier to form the perfect puck with ground material for smaller amounts than it is with nugs.

Also, I really recommend trying the HA through a bong or more direct with a dry glass MP. If you aren't enjoying the bags as much (too much work or whatnot), then I highly recommend it... thru a glass MP is my favorite way to vape with the HA, great flavor and very simple.

Yea I have noticed I don't like to leave it in because more vapor pours out. I have also noticed it like a full pack for milky hits which means I used more in the HA than most methods. However since my whole perception on visible vapor and highness has been flipped upside down I'm sure I could be less greedy with it for same effect. Also learnt that 20 seconds on a slightly hand broken nicely packed bowl straight into the lungs can be super satisfying. Packed the bags away yesterday arvo and tested that all day. Will get a better whip, but super impressed with the device for now, I'd love to get my scales back too just to see what's going in it.
As for the abv, mine was black and crumbled to lifeless dust!

Herbalaire whip stuck into an arizer air stem with the black tip screwed off. Allows a small load to be backed tight. Hits seem a bit milk over than the same load in the HA crucible and effects stronger than running the same load through the solo.

Alright, not to double post but a formal review;

I've used it twice now, once with bags and ground up bud, and once with the whip and a whole nug. It gets me wrecked! The bags were really great, but the whip and the solid nug was kind of uninspiring. I was pumping it at 350 each time and found the bags were still pretty hot, not a huge deal for me but it was definitely felt on my throat. The whip was cooler but I had to jack the temp up during my session. Overrall though I really like it and I love how durable it is. Can't wait to try with ground up herbs and the whip.

The thing is a weed hog, but I bought it as a party vape so this is a good thing. I'm thinking if I were to use it as a personal vape, perhaps a Mighty Screen as a spacer could work? The bags got me wrecked, but I loaded it up with a solid .4/5. The crucible was like half full but densely packed down. The whip was like a .2/3 nugget.

I do have a question in regards to this thing. I was told it was pure convection, and was initially skeptical, but my bud does not like it incurred any conduction at all, so color me surprised! I figured the metal from the crucible would transfer much more heat, didn't seem to be the case.

If that is the case, I am going out of town for like 5 weeks in a week or two. I can't get destroyed, but I want this to travel with as well since its so durable. If I pack it fully, and do 1 bag, and turn it off, would that be pretty kosher? Minimal loss? Vaping in a non smoking hotel so I'll be packing it away after I use it, but I can't afford to stink up the place with multiple bags and I'm trying to keep my tolerance down and not devour a bunch :D

It arrived just in time for Labor Day too! Gonna be taking it out tomorrow and will let you all know how it goes, sure it will be a hit!

...hello everyone.
I just picked up a HA. w/ the tong adapter for water.
Can anyone tell me how this unit inverted would compare to an inverted evo?.
...I recently dumped off my evo...not because it wasn't good..but it got harsh and hot fast..aND although the vapor production is definitely there,..I found the flavor dissapated quickly..
...but that's just my findings,..like I said it works great.
...but I will mainly be using the HA inervted..so if anyone has some tips or experience this way I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks

Can't compare directly to Evo but through water my ha has better flavour than my solo hammer and VG. I don't much care for flavour but I'm always pleasantly surprised with the ha where as most vaping for me I just don't pick up on it.

In the many years that I've ran an HA, I believe that out of it's multitude of vaping modes, it works best, inverted into my glass, with or without water.

The HA has superior heat retention and insulation, resulting in the heater being needed on less often, to maintain the proper temperature, so the body never gets too hot to hold, and no coozies or wristbands are ever needed. I also find the flavour is maintained longer during my seshes, without the harshness, or 'burnt popcorn' taste.

The one tip I can give for usage is that I like to add a fine mesh screen on top of load, in the crucible. This not only minimizes the amount of particulates getting through, but also makes changing out the loads much easier by keeping all the herb inside, preventing it from spilling out (I 'tap' the hot cruc out of the inverted HA and let it cool for a 30-45 seconds or so, before handling it).

Hope this helps.

Hello.
I recieved my basic HA yesterday and could not be more impressed or satisfied.
its criminal IMO how low key and under the radar this device is.
Its aggravating to come to grips with money dropped in the past on much more expensive,.problem laden vapes.
i suppose its my ignorance and blind following of others opinions that have kept me from checking into this machine earlier.
Its actually bittersweet to realize that the search for me has ended for the immediate future,..this is the best suited vape as a driver for my situation.
inverted over basically any 18mm piece or dry thru glass.
Iv skimmed the forum,..ill hunker down and take it all in,...but right outta the box with a screen on top worked like a champ.
...but my temp sticker around the dial was crooked,..so its gone,...the unit looks much better and its no differant than an ssv or evo.
great vape.

I've actually never tried another desktop vape (just portables), so I'm always glad to hear stuff like this.

I love the bag system on the ha. don't really care for the whip. putting a screen on top of the load in the crucible is essential to prevent particles from traveling into the bag and mouthpiece. once I solved that, I love it to death, excellent vape. please don't grind! it's built for nugs and works better that way. enjoy.

Hello all...
...iv been using my HA inverted w/ the stock m.p. and a silicone sleeve over the tip to make a seal on an 18.
..it works very well but I have a tong and 2 extra m.p.'s on the way so as to experiment...it seems there's so many possible options.
Has anyone tried a crafty liquid pad on top of they're load pushed down tight?...it seems to work really well for me...as do the discs.
I do have a question regarding loading direct into the oven...
...iv read thru and seen it stated it doesn't clog the jets and what not...
...is this true?...
I would prefer to cut out the middle man of sorts and load direct...and just dump...
....perhaps a disc on the bottom for piece of mind....and w/ the tong,..there's no room for the crucible from what I gather as it is...and I do really prefer it inverted so the tong would take over as the main mouthpiece.
Sure I'd like a nice clean oven..but as long as it's cool to load direct..for the long term w/ no ill effects to the machine,..than that I think is how I would roll.

You can load directly, that's how I use my HA with the TonG (since normal cruc dont fit with the TonG). It doesn't really clog the jets at all... you could put a fine screen on the bottom if you are worried about it.

How I usually hit the HA is with no cruc, load into the chamber, and drop a ceramic screen on bottom, load, and then three on top. I want to experiment with the crafty liquid pad someday and see how the results differ.

Also using the discs I took out the metal screen from the TonG. Makes for very little maintenance needed, just ISO soaking the discs every couple weeks.

Lost my crucible, load directly into my oven I do notice clogging, but I also crush my bud with the poker before finishing the load so that's probably why.

fwiw, the stock mp forms flush with most old school down stems, it fits flush down my 18mm d0-20 female opening, I can stick my 14mm nectar collector on top, it works great like a hydratube that way, and I am sure it fits flush on many other 14/18mm connections.

Long story short, I really don't need to bother with the TonG attachment, I have noticed. Only thing I notice about the TonG is it allows for hands free connections. With the standard MP you have to hold the unit to whatever waterpiece, which I personally prefer, as when I have a corded unit hands free, I tend to end up knocking over glass/unit combo and breaking the glass it is attached to. Done that twice anyways, so I gave up trying.

I also like being able to use the crucible, as it keeps the oven clean, and I don't have to clean things as often.

...well..like I said...there's so many ways,..and options w/ this vaporizer that it can satisfy anyone's preferences.
I have 6 pieces w/ 18mm joints...to me,..the stock m.p. is shit on a 14,..and not that great on an 18 for that matter,..and it's easy to come undone from the unit regardless if it's inverted on a piece or not..I.M.O.
....my thinking behind going w/ the tong Is the fact it seats deeper in the machine...and it's cut spec.for a 14 or 18..that's all.
..iv rigged this thing 5 ways since Saturday when I got it..I can rig it to fit anything,..it's not that hard...but if there's a bona-fide accessory out there I'm all over it vs. trusting my tinkering.
...to me the differance between the crucible an an evos elb is the elb is absolutely nessasary..the crucible is not..to me it's just another hot piece of metal to deal with.
To be honest Im pretty anal about the detail I put into my investments...and to be even more honest,..I picked up this vape to not have to worry about keeping pristine ..I got it to use...daily,.. without the intimidation that some vapes can pose as far as tedious maintenance...
..I have too many of those.

Tried it in the bong, not what I was hoping for, but still pretty good! Seems I'll need an evo at some stage, but with a good light it gets decently milky.

Okay! Any herbalaire elite users out there that could help me? No destruction booklet anymore and here's the issue!

The timer, I have only been able to get to go up in increments of 10, now here is some antidotal evidence of how effective this thing is.
1:10 is slightly under, yet 1:20 pushes the bag to the peak. Obviously I'd love 1:15 but always accepted I couldnt! Here's the kicker somehow after much testing last night, I awoke to see my timer on 1:08 and goes up in increments of 10 so 0:58 1:08 1:18 and so on.
how did I do this? Anyone know who to get it back to 10's and anyone know how I might be able to harness this magic and get it in incriments of 5 so I can have my 1:15 and be the happiest herbalaire owner in town?

Ok, a few things to add on my end:

Thing is a beast. Don't use it with water, but the bags are so primo I get wrecked off a bowl through bags.

The stems get hella dirty. Been using a Mighty wide screen on top, works well enough but some is still getting through. Fits perfect though.

The whip, imo, kind of sucks. Hard to draw from, impossible damn near with a screen on top sandwiching the bud. I'm a guy with huge lung power and it's still really rough getting good hits without the pump.

On the flip side, the whip + air pump is the beez knees. Nothing like putting it in your mouth and letting it pump you up full of vapor lol. I feel this is ideal for people with lung cancer/emphasema/bronchitis.

I took it over to a buddy's house a weekend or two back....forgot the stems, the crucible! So no bags for us, but pump + direct draw got us ripped. They loved it. My roommates also love the bags; they actually were like "hey HWS, can we use the HA??" All on their own! They combust regularly so it must of made a good impression, seeing as how They don't ask to use my oTher vapes.

The pump imo is a necessity with this vape, but it works wonderfully with it.

I didn't end up taking it out of town :/ I was sketchy about the hotel room stinking since This produces such clouds, and I managed to procure some concentrates so I'm just dabbing. I'm gonna save some and run a dab sandwich through the HA when I get home.

Glad your enjoying you new toy; I'll have to try through water but it may be too wide; my glass is primarily with no extra down stem so it may smack against the tube.

I agree this thing is CRIMINALLY UNDERATED. Is it my "best" vape? No. For the price though...absolutely!

Hear what you're saying, plenty of things I don't like about it but there are just soooo many things you can do with it! Being a human bag is fun, blowing bags is fun, I mostly use whip, vape bong is fun and direct draw is simple.
Using the pump from this and the hammer got me thinking. If vapes made it common place to have a easily accsibale single air intake point, blowing bags and fan assisted whip would be easy done. Even adopting a uniform size for easy connection. The Zion range spings to mind as something to play with bags on.

How I Use My herbalAire:

I wanted to share with you guys how I use my herbalAire H2.2. I have experimented with many different ways and found that this method seemed to produce the cloudiest bags most consistently with as little material as possible. I find that it produces thicker bags at the very start and then gradually decreases in density. I am all about being as efficient with my herb as possible and like to get the most out of it. I like to try and get the medicinal effects from as little herb as possible. I find with my method you can get 1 cloudy bag with as little of 0.10 of good quality cannabis. If you used 0.20 you'll get 2 cloudy bags. For this purpose I used 0.25g of standardized medicinal cannabis - the strain was Chocolope for anyone interested. It is 16.29% THC so not anything crazy potent, but it does have a good coating of trichomes which usually leads to thicker bags of vapour. This is going to be a long post, but I'll include a description above each picture. Enjoy.

1. Take your cannabis - 0.25g pictured

2. Chop it up with scissors or your hands to break it down. You don't need to grind the material, just break it down enough that you can spread it across the screen in the crucible.

3. Take the crucible and break away the screen from the bottom. Just turn it upside down and push with your finger until it breaks free. Push it about 5/8 of the way down. It should stay in place. See the pictures below for an example of how it looks.

Right side Up

Upside Down

4. Take you material and start to pack the open end of the crucible. You want to try to evenly pack the material and spread it across the screen. Then compress it down and create a little disc. It sometimes helps to put a pinky finger in the bottom of the crucible while you pack it tightly to prevent the screen from dislodging.

As you are packing it

After is has been compressed

5. Insert the crucible upside down inside the herbalAire. Because you packed it down you don't have to worry about little bits coming lose and falling through the air holes. If you grind the material before packing it this becomes a bit of a problem, so I don't recommend grinding the material. You'll see in the picture it is placed in my unit upside down.

6. Put the top on and place your bag and start pumping. What I find is that you don't need to leave the material in the herbalAire to preheat or anything. This is simply a place it and go procedure with no waiting time in between. I know sometimes people will leave the material inside their units to let it heat up throughout before turning on the pump, but in this case I suggest just turning on the pump right away once you place it in.

You'll see in the next series of pictures some before and after filled shots with a butane can held behind the bag to give you guys a measure of the density of the vapour in the bags. I also did this at 365. I got 2 really dense bags and 1 bag of half the density, but still satisfying and worthwhile to use.

Just as it is turned on. You'll see the vapour isn't incredibly dense at the start, but it starts to thicken up as the first bag is filled. You'll see the filled pictures of the first bag and it is cloudy like it was filled with smoke. It is all tasty vapour.

yeah, I'm pretty sure that bud will deliver thick vapor...yummy!
Ha, I know. I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a step 2 or if he was being funny. Either way I laughed and now I'm just checking out that pic feeling jealous. That looks nice. Very, very nice.

On a side note has anyone used hash in the concentrate crucible? I tried last night and it was ok. I shaped it into a disc and put it in after it got up to heat. I think maybe I needed to make the disc thinner.
