Been a while since I came around these here parts.

My 3 Zaps are all putting up great. 2 have had the tite kit refurbish but other than that, I'm still in love. Each one of them is different as to heat and how it hits. The Second, Cherry I received is my go to guy, and my Myrtle wood is in NY when I need her so I don't have to travel with them. She runs the hottest. The Western Ash runs the lightest and is good for herbs that have a low burn off rate. usually fluffier sativas (which are not my favorite, I prefer dense herb).

After seeing these new style Zaps I can't help but get jealous and want one of my own, bringing me to a total of 4 Zaps. Not bad.

The NUMBER one reason why my Zaps are second to NONE in my collection, and I have quite a few Vapes, is because of their EFFICIENCY. I have saved so much money my zaps have already paid for themselves, thanks Rick! The size of the stems hold just the right amount of material and get you the perfect hit every time. NO OTHER VAPE CAN DO THAT. Not with as little herb and EVENLY vaped. The Zap is the most EVEN heat I've used. Gets the job done right every-time. I use mine with a mini-bubbler, placing the zap upside down. Amazeballs.

The new Zaps have different names. These new ones are sexy and if Rick says they are better, who am I to not believe him? Ha, so which one to get.......wow they look upgraded.

---- Just checked the website and everything is sold out? No.......Thought things were picking up.....?

Things are picking up very nicely. The last one sold out today.
I will be getting pics taken and have more units up by tonight. I got behind on website work, then very slow internet stopped us. We are back to very good now, 4-5 times faster than our hughes.net service.
Thanks all for the patience. There are plenty more CRZs to put up but needed the window to do it which is finally here.

Right on Rick, Congrats on everything man, I will be ordering my 4th soon.

Can anyone give me the page where Rick or whoever might talk about the changes in the new model? It's a long thread and I don't know where to begin....is there an easy way to find info like that?

Interested in the changes....Thanks a lot

Has anyone had any issues with their MZ failing to heat? I took a multimeter to my adapter, the unit is definitely getting power, but no heat comes through. It's been more and more intermittent until today, when it has just completely failed to heat at all.

Replacing the plug with the one from Rick's site hasn't helped.

An older Myrtlezap? Could be a bad transformer still. A volt meter will measure volts only. If a strand or two of the stranded wire is still intact, you will measure full voltage but there will not be enough amperage to heat the Zap. On the other hand, there could be something wrong inside your zap. Shoot us an Email so we can get it figured out.

Notice Zaps are going up faster tonight? Same routine just no wait. I love it. Still in the shop on the laptop in my toasty room with gin'n vape and a special CD playing. Our son made it with all my favorites. Lots of Dylan, even a Dean Martin cowboy song from what movie? Even a new bottle of Gin stilled in Idaho. Bardenay. Some citrus in it. Nice
You might even see a little extra shine on the new ones as I buffed them up a bit before I shot them.
edit
fuck'n A, am I into the 'evens' tonight!

Hey Rick - I actually already sent an email, which is why I've posted here - I still have yet to get a response.

The connection seems pretty solid. I'm not getting any heat at all, not even the slightest bit of warmth.

You did it. You triggered me to check my spam folder which has traditionally only had the Viagra and Rolex stuff that I always delete.
I found 20 "Aromazap Answers" Emails in there that I have not even seen, all over the last month or so. My apologies for the space out. Gmail apparently makes arbitrary decisions as to what goes in the Spam folder. I will be answering them tonight, starting with the most recent.

Hey, here's an question:

I was wondering if anyone knows the exact name or size of the plug for the Zaps. The end that goes in the unit. I'm not an electrician and not too good with this stuff. What I'm essentially trying to do is get the Zap portable. If i Can get it powered via usb then in comes a host of portable battery options.

So, does anyone out there know of an adapter or way to get these puppies powered by USB?

USB seems to be where it's heading.

Thanks

Hey Rick,
I too sent you an email and did not get a reply so here goes:
Is there a current FC discount (this will be zap #3 for me)?
And one more - what are the chances of getting a primo one similar to as pictured?
Peace
:peace:

^^^^ it's almost always due to a broken power adapter wire, and not the zap itself. Easy fix if that's all it is.

Though a good idea, USB ports do not provide enough juice to power any of the current generations of log vapes. A battery pack would be your best option at this time.

Dont know how portable.the battery has to be but you can try one of those emergency battery packs for your car,
They're 12 volts and have a cigarette style hook up too.

If you look on the accessories page of Rick's site, he has the specs for the power adapters.

SPECIFICATIONS input: 110-120 volts AC output: 12 volts DC, 1 amp(1000ma) output plug: 5.5 x 2.1 mm female

USB is only 5V to begin with.

USB power in general is 500ma from a computer. While wall-plugged/car-plugged USB ports can go higher, you're now plugged into a wall socket or car socket anyway. What is the benefit of USB then?

Flextronics part number 09500043-200, Model # A00810 is what would come standard with a Cell Phone, etc... Rates out at 0.85 Amps, 4.9V.

Wattage = Volts * Amps

So, the power adapter that comes with the unit is a 12 watt unit. USB provides ~2.5 watts. Not even close. Even a 1amp USB fast charger would only be 5 watts. You still need some sort of transformer (aka "Brick") to step up the voltage even if you had the amperage to work with.

Rick- expect some more orders from Wisconsin in the near future. My circle of friends is loving my zap and a few have started checking your site daily to see what you have to offer. Your product sells itself!

i have 3 power supplies and they all don't work. pieces have been falling out of it and rattles like a mofo. but it's okay because it has served me well and was worth every penny i paid for it. i'm gonna bury it.

You are going to bury it? Are we invited to the funeral?

Goodbye SE's myrtlezap, you had a good life! would you like to say a few words?

I think you can probably count on seeing some charring. Other than that, the internals really aren't a mystery. They've been shown here and elsewhere on the forum.

IDK....if it was me I'd be tempted to send it back to Rick and see if he'd be nice enough to check it out for a retrofit of some ss innards. Maybe shoot him an email?

Like you said Mom, its probably got charring inside. And i think Rick has said he can not retrofit ones with charred innards but he also said he just doesnt think retrofits are worth it.
