next generation e-nails?

Great Scott!
Godspeed to you sir! I just ordered my Sapphire and Quartz halos! Plus some new rosin squishing equipment not yet seen around these parts! :D

What are those halos all about? Are they just quartz dishes? Am I missing something? I get the sapphire shelf, I can't wait to try that some day. Passed up an AWESOME deal on a quadcopter to ge the coil + SIC nail. Hope its noticeably better than my current hive.

Ya mostly just a quartz dish. I think if you check their site they talk about there being some kind of pattern etched in to aid vaporization. Think it is mostly a big deal because it's they first quartz product that can be used with a flat coil (well other than the inserts in the happy daddy nail/the insert for errlectrics).

Machined quartz with wicking surface (uses capillary action to evenly spread your dab rapidly around the dish), coupled with a flat coil heater so that for the first time, the floor of a quartz dish is directly and relatively evenly heated. This should make for faster and much tastier vaporization. I have it from Stevie at Dnail that the sapphire halo is the best thing he's ever dabbed on, even better than the sic! Sapphire dishes are super expensive, very hard/time consuming to manufacture, cannot be torched but also have the flat heater/wicking machined surface too!

I'll give a comparison of all 3 dishes as soon as I have them :)

They do bro, the Infiniti and the new 1.4 slim series (to be released imminently AFAIK) have a female connection too.

$100 for an adapter is a bit ridiculous and not worth it for most people. I got it but ended up using the male adapter. Upside is that it should work with most clones and it also uses the same threading as some other nails on the market.

I just gave away my Infiniti. Im not going to buy another one for a SIC dish. That base sucks and I have little interest in supporting HE.

I was going to buy a SIC dish and a base but Im not buying any more HE stuff. I feel like their support isnt good and their stuff is overpriced but thats just my opinion.

Get yourself a d-nail 1.4 slimline bro, it'll be out super soon and obviously way more reasonably priced ;)

I'll have a review up soon, shouldn't be long before mine arrives :D

Sapphire Powered Dabstronaut.
^^^ Yup, they're running a sale.
I just picked up a full set-up for ~25% off:

SiC dish ($20 off)
Sapphire insert ($10 off)
V1.3 base ($10 off)
Carb cap + dabber handle ($15 off)

$215 + delivery.

Edit: although now i'm jealous and want a V1.4 slimline base.
(Quartz Halos are on sale as well $100 as opposed to $120)

Actually it's just the SiC Dish that's on sale (no idea for how long), the others are combo discounts for ordering alongside the Dish.

How do I obtain the sapphire one? How much more $$$? Is it as fragile since I imagine it's thicker and shit.

Sapphire one is not available to the public yet. I'm beta testing. Sapphire halo is very expensive indeed, no way around that, growing sapphire in a lab is very time consuming (2 months lead time on manufacturing each tiny batch of 10-20 units!) and costs well in excess of $200 USD to manufacture.

This is firmly for the ballers. Everyone who isn't prepared to spend a lot of money on Sapphire dishes (understandable!) should stick to SiC/Quartz/Sapphire insert instead ;)

Sapphire is thermally much tougher than quartz, so at the same dimensions as the quartz halo, it should be more durable. Sapphire is not very fragile at all, it simply cannot handle thermal shock. Don't torch it and you shouldn't break it!

I've dropped my sapphire inserts (the little round thin ones) 8 feet onto hard tiles and never, ever broken one from that! Only one I broke was from torching it super aggressively ;)

The SIC dish will probably be off sale by then. It was a impulse buy anyway. I have one of the knock off HE Infiniti's, I guess I could just use that.

My custom dropdown is 14mm male and I dont want to start stacking adapters.. thats too much weight that far away from the piece with a big old honking e-nail on the end.

Anyone know what kind of connector this is? It looks like the one on the Ti-ten e-nail I bought without realizing how weird the connector was.

Sold it to my friend and replaced it with an Auber but I'd love to make an adapter from this to XLR for my buddy if that's doable.

Only $200?! Gimme gimme gimme. Who do I need to blow to get the chance to beta things? I could care less if I have to pay for em. I just love betas. Plus it's fun to show my friends new kit.

I never got the Infiniti hate. Works fine for me. That said. If they ever made purpose built 14 mm male and female nails (separate. No lame universal fit garb.) I'd snap those up quick. If nothing else it would help make my toro rig more stable. Tiny base is tiny.

Fair point, I have the exact same spec of custom worked kevin murray dropdown and understand completely not wanting to stack a bunch of adapters on such a setup.

You can definitely use your infiniti knock-off if it is the same thread :)

hahaha no no, $200 is not the retail price (not even close to my Beta price!!!). The retail price will no doubt be more still. From what I've been told (NOT A SPECIFIC/AUTHORITATIVE FIGURE!), it costs something between $200-300 to MANUFACTURE! Remember, this is lab-grown sapphire to very tight specs/tolerances. Not at all easy to do!

This does not take into account shipping costs from manufacturer, breakage during stress testing/QC/warehousing and of course making a profit (we can't expect companies to sell us shit at their cost, no company would last 5 minutes with that business model!)!

I do have it on good authority that there will not be much of a markup on the sapphire dishes though, since the guys at d-nail are really trying to keep prices as accessible as possible - they are as conscious as anybody else of the huge relative expense of this material.

Can't get in on the Betas for sapphire halos now bro, the first batch is long gone and second batch is likely months away. In terms of how to become a beta tester, that is a question better answered by d-nail people - that's how I did it ;)

I was just digging around on their private Facebook group and they said in a reply that it would be $250. Probably way too expensive for me right now but I guess at the same time it's pretty cheap for what it is.

What would be a good temp to set the sic nail at? It comes today or tomorrow. I take bitch dabs. Like less than 20th of a gram. This is WITHOUT the sapphire shelf. I have to order that eventually.

I'm dabbing between 660F and 700F with a carb cap. 710F actually isn't a bad starting point and move up or down depending on preference/material.

I do 599 for that bro, about 690 for higher cbd concentrates (protip from @mvapes), cbd concentrates taste much better at higher temps ;)
