Discontinued Vapir Rise Vaporizer

Vapor nation has the old system, but I am tired of putting money into this machine. With the SSV, you buy after market parts to improve your vape experiance. With this machine, I spend money to make this machine work like it was advertised to. The parts I buy do not improve anything: I buy clamps so the hose doesn't slip off the single user adaptor; I buy gaskets for the mouth pieces so they don't leak vapor; I buy other hoses, but the adaptor gets too hot, and the hose collapses and may off gas. I use the bagging system and the bags smell after several uses. I have to store all the accesories in a tupperware container that has to be thrown away soon because the ABV smell leached into it. I guess it's back to the old Vapir. Welcome back Vapormatic.

I realized long after writing post #174 that the escaping vapor is from convection in the tower, not from a spinning fan, so it's minimal.

My girlfriend fell in love with the Rise too, she now uses it over her small portable. Everything is holding up nicely, proper cleaning and scrubbing of the screens never fail to restore its like new feeling. We bought 20 feet of tubing and made 4 x 5 feet whips. They add a little too much restriction and burden so we'll just cut a few inches from times to times during cleanup, until we hit the right length for movie nights.

Man I love my Rise !!! :bowdown: It's such a sociable vaporizer, even my mother in law likes it (no kidding ).

One thing I don't like about the Rise is that if you pull too hard, the floating screen moves and you inhale particles. I would like to lock the screen in the lowest position and I will ask a machinist friend if he could work something out with stainless or titanium. A modified single user adapter where the short plastic nipple is replaced with a 3 inches straight up tube of the proper diameter to support the bag would be neat. Carefull drilling of the plastic and insertion of a proper diameter tube would do the trick nicely.

@Ronp boiled water with lots of baking soda (add before it's boiling, trust me) somewhat clean the hoses, and totally cuts the smell. I too woke up to an insanely smelly place once because of the hoses but it's now a thing of the past. I store them in a box if I they start getting smelly, but I try to clean them up before the problem arise. Out of curiosity, if you look at a light through the floating grill, are there any obstructed holes? It takes quite a soaking and scrubbing to make that screen breathe right.

I don't store my whip in anything. I leave the damn thing hooked up and plugged in all the time.

I clean my screens and nozzles every 2 weeks when I grab new bud. I smoke a gram a week and see my buddy every 2 weeks. New batch calls for clean vape. As for my whip, been almost a month, 4 grams later. This one I may clean. But I am going to throw it out soon and go to Home Depot and get a long silicone tube and cut it in a few sections so I can have a couple more whips.

I've been using mine since about May or June. No serious complaints here. Yeah the nozzle leaks a bit when filling up a bag at full setting. But I brew my bags on a low speed. 5 minutes to fill up, oh well. I could care less.

I guess I'm spoiled; I have an old V-Tower that's bullet proof. I just drop everything in denatured alcohol for 10 minutes once a month. Except for the herb, I never put a cent into the tower. I love how the Rise hits and it's great looks, but I got to experiment with new types of hoses material (you see this is what I mean, I don't want to have to do this; this should have been done by Vapir before they sold the Rise to the public). No one else seems to have an issue with the Rise's odor, maybe I'm simply projecting my hygien issues onto my vaporizer. FC might want to consider creating a special section for people with psychological issues, so they can get counselling: Giving your vaporizer this much attention just isn't healthy.

I admit...I have a problem...I give my vaporizer more attention than my wife and children.

Many of the beer brewers use silicone tubing to make beer; one of the ways they clean there silicone tubing is with bleach. I'm going to take a gallon of water add 1/2 cup of bleach and see if that works.

It worked.
I did the 1/2 cup of bleach and a gallon of water on a low boil (large saucepan) for about 1/2 hour. I shut off the heat to the stove and let it sit for an hour (remember don't get the mix on your clothes). I rinsed well and dried the hose on the rise @ 420 and full fan with the oil adaptor in place with some peppermint essential oil.

Note: The hose is still off colored, but it smells great no stale ABV odor, just a light smell of peppermint.
Question: What temperature do you vape at? I like taking it to 420, but that may be why my hose has an odor.

I vape at 188-190C depending on my strain. I started at 180c a few months ago then really enjoyed the high at 185C. Now I'm slightly higher and prefer that high at 188C-190C.

How thorough did you rinse your hose after the bleach? Too bad you didn't get the yellow stain out.

Haven't figured that one yet. I just rinsed it in water; I should have just washed it in some dish water.

Don't even bother cleaning it with bleach, the odor comes back after a week. I tried to get new silicone hose at Home Depot. They did not have it. Does anyone know the exact size of the silicone hose (inside diameter and outside diameter)? I would buy it from Vapir or VN, but they kill you on pricing. Maybe I can buy it from a brewing supply for a fair price.

A buddy came over last night with his Arizer Air. We did a nice session for about 10-15 minutes on setting 2 then up to 3. I have to say, the high was different. I totally prefer my Rise. The taste was better in my Rise same with the high.

That's good to hear. How did it do in efficiency? Did you use about the same amount in both vapes? I know my solo was super efficient.
I'm always second guessing my Rise purchase: It's a love hate relationship.

I used less weed.

Yes we vaped his air with his weed. His was about a .2 fully packed stem.

We vaped my rise with my weed. Mine was so small like not even a .1. The bottom of my weed basket was not completely full. A lot of space on it.

Any idea on seperating the screen from the screen stem. I called Vapir, they said it unscrews. Mine must be a bit odd, it has a push nut securing the screen. When I draw hard, the screen pulls off the herb allowing it into the hose and my mouth. When the screen's dirty it's more prone to the screen issue. I can't clean it well when the screen attached to the adaptor: Can't leave it in alcohol due to the gaskets and plastic parts and can't seperate the metal screen to soak it????

The screen does not come off the metal stick if that is what you are asking. The screen comes off the plunger thing by unscrewing the screw from the top. If you haven't cleaned in a while heat it with a lighter as he may be caked on.

I picked up the Vapir Rise 2 yesterday and i'm really liking it so far, but wow, is that oven big.

I'll be using it as a whip to water pipe setup for the most part and I'm sending in my Mighty this week for repairs so it's great timing.

See you all around :)

Just did an extremely thorough clean on my Rise. However I noticed the screen in the plunger has some holes clogged. I had it soaking over night in 99% ISO. I've also been scrubbing with the cleaning brush periodically. Is there a quicker way to get all those holes clean?

Just placed my order for a Rise 2.0. After reading through this thread (thanks to all who participated) and reading various reviews, I am excited to find a vape of this quality and versatility and such a great price-point. Truth be told, I really want a VXL Cloud, but the budget won't allow for that at this time. However, the Rise 2.0 looks like a capable stand-in, and much more wallet friendly.

Anyways, looking forward to sharing my experience with it and glad to be part of the VapirRise Crew!

Got the machine yesterday. Soaked and cleaned the whip and did a 15 minute "burn-in".

Have had 2 sessions on it now, and all I can say is.....wow. I am loving this vape.

I have only used the single whip, have not had a chance to try the bags or octopus mode yet.

I am liking the temp @ 200c, getting really nice clouds. Flowers in the chamber are very evenly toasted.

Overall, just a great product at a wonderful price-point. So pleased right now....

EDIT: Just realized that I double-posted. Sorry mods, my previous post was 3 or 4 days ago.

The Rise is so versatile...I have some essential oils I run through the unit. Put a few drops of mint in the oil cup and you'll breath so clear. It's like a nasal orgasim.

Vapir better not use my "Nasal Orgasim" quote as a selling point.

I will be trying oil cup for sure....my wife has some lavender EO she would like me to try. Mint sounds nice as well. What temp setting do you use for the EO's?

Congrats on your purchase. I love my Rise. Bags I can only handle once and a while when I'm drinking with friends. The octopus mode I have never used lol. I usually just use single whip and pass around.

The one down side is cleaning the whip. Other than that everything cleans fine. Haha.

I keep it pretty low: It doesn't need much. I have fun messing with different tempertures and fan speeds.

I'll leave it out Thanksgiving; I'll fill the oil cup with mineral oil mixed with some type of mint. I think I'll do a test run tonight.

Gino-I use a glass mouth piece and everyone has an alcohol wipe.
